after such a harrowing, painful album this track is specially harrowing. It feels almost common, but just out of the reach of normalcy. It sounds almost like a cry for help of someone who desperately desires to be normal and to be loved as such but feels not normal enough, and that unfulfilled desire speaks so much sadness and helplessness. And this hits specially hard after the whole album being an expression of pain and alienation.
This is such a grief stricken duet. Those wails are chilling.
I've seen you comment on some cool songs from cool bands. Saw you on Melt Banana just the other day. You've got some taste.
I was blessed [cursed] to see this performed live. I don't know by the end if I was gonna cry or scream or puke or black out.

Xiu Xiu only gets more and more weird, and thats what makes them so good. But you really gotta be in the off mindset to them. With me I can't toss them on anyday I need to be in a mood to listen to them.
Saw these guys live last night. I'd highly recommend catching a live performance. They're just as awesome, weird, and generally nice people in person. And the music was incredible!!
This song is a perfect closer to this album I think. It's like a quiet reflection on the anxiety that the rest of the album brings. This will be on repeat for a while for sure. Also is the raspier singing voice a guest vocal or a sample?

Absolutely incredible performances by both Xiu Xiu and Eugene Robinson of Oxbow. Never thought Id see the day to see my two favorite bands collaborate like this!!

For years I felt like a fake fan, but its hard to keep up with every artist. Now that I've finally listened to this. I can say this has overtaken "A Promise" As my favorite Xiu Xiu album. I would never be able to put into words how this album makes me feel or what it means but just know its fantastic and should be experienced.
This was such a saddening, but peaceful ending to such an abrasive Album. This really hits

This thing made me think about receiving only normal love... Like a synonym for neutral love, because its not an outstanding love. I dont know if I made myself clear but this thought made me cry a lot

I'm disappointed that no one has directed me to Oxbow until now. I appreciate that. Phenomenal album closer too. Real defeat and gut punch with illusory hope. I feel it. I hope it goes away.

I’m going exactly through what this song says,
This song is one of the weirdest and creepiest songs on the album. It sounds so normal and innocent and only a little bit weird and broken. And that is so shocking and the scariest conclusion, compared to previous songs here. It's obvious that something is wrong. You can hear the techno from 2000s here.

I'm all about experimentation but I have to agree. I've been a Xiu Xiu fan for ages but for some reason this album didn't click for me. Maybe I'm just missing the classic chaos hooks?
Aw man feels bad you didn't get a kick out of it. I loved it a lot, maybe my fave Xiu Xiu record so far, though I'm farely new to Xiu Xiu (also heard Forget, The twin peaks record and Angel Guts Red Classroom). I guess that when you have such a diverse discography, you garner a lot of different fans and can't please everyone with every new release.
