    It heats very well, but I have one complaint that it doesn't stop at the temperature I set it to. It will keep heating until I can't take it anymore and turn it off. Then I wake up shivering a couple hours later and repeat.

      You should find a better place for the Smartemp unit, the temperature sensor is in there OR your truck or what ever has still the old external-temperature sensor installed/connected. If the Smartemp is installed near the window it will give you more "troubles", or near you truck vent. Good luck! Check the harness (X6) and the pins 8&9 follow the two wires and find the external-temperature sensor or a resistor (it's a small plug with a build-in resistor 620-660 Ohm)

    I have brand new Freightliner and have f14,f15 error wtf??why this think not working??

  • @petefowler4441
    @petefowler4441 5 лет назад

    It wasn't the batteries after all.
    The previous driver had pulled fuses))
    But fuses didn't work either so I'm without bunk heat
    It works periodically so I'm thinking its loose sensors now.
    There is a video called Webasto diagnostics that talks about it

    Is there a way to start a heater at a future time

    • @uralguy5131
      @uralguy5131 6 лет назад

      Of course it is...
      Timer & Date:
      Time & Date allows user to properly set the current date and time. User also has the ability to switch between AM/PM and 24 hour format. If the 24 hour format is selected the date format will change to dd/mm/yyyy. Use the rotary knob to choose the time / date and the selection button to confirm each entry. The Webasto button can be used to go back to the previous field if additional changes are needed.
      Timer:
      There are 4 heater start-up cycles possible 7 days per week. The timer is separated into to three categories. The user can select “Mon-Fri”, set each specific timer (T1 - T4) for a typical work week all at once. A weekend “Sat-Sun” can be scheduled in the same manner or a full week by using the “Mon-Sun” selection. The “custom” link allows the user to set a specific timer (T1 - T4) for each individual day. When selecting a specific timer a sub-menu will appear (Edit, Skip, and Off). To change the timer cycle, select “edit”. Changes are saved immediately. The “skip” feature allows a timer cycle to be skipped one time within a 7 day period. Timer will reactivate after this one-time skip cycle. Note: To turn a specific timer off permanently select “off”.3

    This video is well produced but the premise is off as well as being full of lies. The webasto is not easy to use, the manual has no information about how to use it and for that this video is useless!

    My heater stopped working and then wouldn't start back up.
    Turns out the batteries in the truck are shedding too low. So the computer is turning off the power to the heater..
    Hope new batteries solve an icy cold bunk problem

    use their competition!!! this things are difficult to install and get them to come on with a timer, this thing said like 5 times it has a timer and its a flat out lie!!! this thing has no timer and the ones that have timers are Europe only or not compatible etc etc. I had to build my own timer using a 555 circuit because after spending $600 on timers alone, nothing worked or was incompatible. I own 7 of these BTW, just use the dial thingy its still like $150 but at least its pretty much a simple on/off button

      You should read the instruction more often, it's easy to understand and to install, the timer works...you've got 7 Webasto's and still no idea... go back to school and start with the basics again... 1+1=2
      I guess your Webasto is installed wrong and runs in the safety mode!
