Thank you for replying, it's nice to know both are still around. I watched another video where there were 3 birds, but sadly the 3rd smaller one was killed by siblings. I know it's nature, BUT it's so hard to watch without crying. Thanks once again. Watching from england. 🙋

There are no "bullies" in the bird of prey world. There's only INSTINCTS and SURVIVAL. The eldest is just doing what ALL bird of prey do. Dominating the feedings to assure she survives. Human terms don't apply in the wild kingdom.
I detest bullies but this is nature at its most natural....so you just have to hope for the best, which in this instance, it seems, turned out for the best! Thanks for great footage here! Cheers
I am very sorry for the second chick. The elder one not allowing to eat and damaging the wings of second. But it is unknown why the mother or father in these instances does not take steps to prevent this.So glad the second one able to eat at the end
Makes me laugh how they wait for the sibling to look away or preen when they decide to "pop" up!! Love me an underdog!! They may not get the brawn but they get the brains ;-)
Bryan Scott If it's any consolation: @32:53 Dad steps on #1 w his talons out. Also, notice when #2 has the height advantage in nest bowl, #1 is passive- allowing 2 to eat. I bet #2 will learn from this!
It's a bit hard to watch all the bashing, isn't it? While it's completely normal for these siblings to establish hierarchy/dominance by 'bonking' each other until one submits by lying down, in this instance it does seem to be overly aggressive. My own (unscientific) names for this are: 'Me first!' bonks, which normally stop as soon as one submits, and 'I hate your face!' bonks, which are the ones that continue long after submission, and include the twisting bites and wing pulling. The little one has an uphill battle ahead, but seems smart and resilient. I do wish that Audrey would exhibit the behavior I have seen other moms of 'bullies' do - which is, when she sees it getting too 'rough', she simply stops the meal abruptly, and sits on them! :-) After a couple of light meals, most seem to get the message and get more focused on eating, rather than worrying about their siblings. ~fingers crossed~ ;-)

From what I know birds having multiple babies is just insurance that one actually survives healthy , sad but true , sibling rivalry is very common as much as it’s hard to watch , the parents will cater to the more dominant one
I watch many different nest sites and have for several years, with that being said, bonking is normal at all nests. As hard as it is to watch, it is nature taking course. Believe me, the bonking will stop in about a week or so as the youngest will get stronger and the (bully) older sibling realizes there is plenty of food to come. :) It is worst when three chicks are involved as the runt gets picked on by two, but usually always survives. I have seen only a couple of nests that turned out for the worst. :'( I think mom did the smart thing because some parents just ignore the problem and when feeding time is over, it is over. Not thinking of the smallest not being totally fed. What about dad at the end stepping on the chick??? He totally smushed the chick, I rewinded just to see, oh my, bless that baby. I think that dad tripped and baby seemed fine anyway. Arlene thank you for sharing your video, it was nice to see Mom do the right thing. I have never seen dad take the fish away before??? Usually it is left as nestovers for later?? That was weird. : o :)
Bonking is normal, however it typically stops once the smaller one goes submissive. This type of bird is way nastier than other breeds like bald eagles when it comes to sibling aggression. The Osprey siblicide rate is super high. These don't bonk for dominance they're hoping to eliminate.
I'm glad you cleared up bonking. I had no idea what that could mean. I think Ospreys of vicious Psychopathic Birds, but then it takes all kinds to run the world. Storks are no better
Such a vicious biting to other baby can’t eat. Mom has no control of it or doesn’t care. What a cruel world. No moral strongest win ? Poor baby weaker can’t even get up to mom. It is unfair why mom does not intervene ? Finally Mimi’s able to give to smaller but big one bites smaller baby again. Finally smaller climbed up got some food. Lucky it is struggle to survive. Good feeding. Thank you.
Людмила Зіменко This is the nature of birds of prays chick The one come out the shell first is always bulling the one came second , and dose this obviously because of more food This is how it goes sadly , But they all survive as long as parents bring food , unless really really hard fore parents to find enough food

I seen lots of videos of ospreys and most of the time the bird only feeds one chick why? I don't know. That's why you guys always see a little one .and only one make it to adulthood.
Moms being a little selfish with the food isnt she? Most other eagles I have watched mom feeds the babies first and occasionally takes a bite for herself.
