I worked as an RN for 42 yrs. I was a very quiet person. During college and during my nursing program, I had to get over that as I had to interact with patient/families and asking very personal questions. I was very difficult at first. I overcame quickly. I am a nail enthusiast, I do a few people and I find myself doing more listening with a few interjections as I am concentrating. It takes me forever as it is.
I’ve learned as a conversation starter. Just ask the client what there having for supper tonight or what they are preparing for supper tonight. that brings on a whole new conversation and can keep them talking through the entire appointment
I have had so many clients want to hang out outside of appointments and at the time I'm like yeah that sounds great but by the end of the week, I don't want to hang out with anyone. 😅 my social cup is full!
Habib, I would like to add to your suggestions here. I have learned a lot through customer service experience, but studying body language and behavior. Analysis has truly helped me learn what to say and what not to say around people. There is an audible book called six minute x-ray by Chase Hughes, and it is extremely helpful if you just want a short field guide on how to read people quickly. If I’m talking about something at work and my patient starts pulling in their lips or biting them suddenly, I switch topics. It’s little things like learning their behavior baseline so that you can pick up on moments when they become uncomfortable.
My friends and family are my best and most faithful clients! They never ask for discounts and always tip generously❤ and they used to let me practice on them when a full set took me like 4 hours 😂
I work in a small private salon by myself and have a tv behind me playing nail art video's off of RUclips on mute with a low music on. It helps in those moments of silence and all my client's say they get mesmerized by the video's 😅. Video's are like an hour to two hours long of just straight nail art.
Great advice info but some are receiving benefit and can’t but never mind eventually we should get quite perfect effects even though the products are cheap great listening to both
Hahaha!!! I tend to tell clients “welcome to the family!” in a joking way. I’m not very close with most of my family 😂😂😂. However, I know more about most of them, than I do most of my own family members.
I love this channel so much, thank you so much for uploading such wonderful content all the time. It’s going to be a little bit until I can get into nail tech school, but I have been practicing every type of product. I can get my hands on. I can’t wait to try your fiber gel. Thank you again! Have a beautiful week.
My family makes fun of me because everywhere I go...(doesn't matter where I go) people ALWAYS tell me their business. I keep going back and forth about becoming a nail tech because I love listening to people's stories and serving others. The art of communication is listening more than talking. 😅
I have discovered that many clients often use their appointment time to download heavy feelings they’re experiencing with other people and in other areas of their lives. It’s like we’re Therapists and, although I genuinely care about folks, it’s hard being everybody’s sponge. The other thing I experience a bit but just from a couple of people is political talk. I very much dislike it so I intentionally and completely go silent when this occurs.
My mom’s a hair stylist and my gosh the amount of trauma dumping is overwhelming. Things I never wanted to know or hear, but I had to hear all of it because I had to tear aluminum foil for my mom’s appointments 😂 This is why I try to SET the tone to something light and REDIRECT to something lighter when I feel like “I’m going to be crying about this later” because IMO you don’t owe clients your emotional energy off the clock
Totally agree with you. I have a new client who started on a political rant which totally opposed my own beliefs. I suggested she must know more about it than me then changed the subject. With the therapist side I’m pretty good at letting that roll off my back nowadays!
We are sorry about that. We are working as quickly as we can to get everyone's orders out. Standard shipping is 3-5 business days (not including Saturday and Sunday), but there may be delays due to high volume of orders. Did you receive a confirmation number after placing your order?
I get a bad review by a custumer that don't like me. She complement the nail tech that did her nails but complaint abaut the owner. I did feel the negativity from her sinse just see her. I just thaks (on google)the time she take to write a review.

Usually, people love to talk about themselves. That’s usually the easiest convo in my studio.
Engaging conversations are good if you want a decent tip
