    If you are having dominance issues with a goat here is a video to show you how to flip and a big and small goat. I also speak about why and when to do it. Flipping a goat should not be done lightly, it should only be a last resort. One thing I left out of this video is I like to keep the goats I'm reprimanding down until they fully submit which can often take 10-20 minutes or so. Marc Warnke, "The Goat Guy", packgoats.com.

    An aggressive goat is a cause of being aggressively handled. If you teach your goats that they are going to be hit or roughly handled, they will think it’s how they are supposed to treat you. Goats should never be aggressively handled. We all lose our temper but remember goats look at you as their leader, so be a good example. We should discipline with yelling, gesturing, and using a good squirt bottle.
    At packgoats.com our mission is to become a leading resource on all things for owning your goats. In addition, help you feel confident about the information and be successful in caring for your goats.
    Check out all our courses to teach you how to raise babies, run pack goats, and how to milk goats. Highly recommend you to get the courses that fit your needs.

    I love the amount of caution and respect going towards the goats used in the demonstration. Yes, they don't understand, and while it's important for us to see exactly how it should be done, he takes the time throughout the process to reassure and use caring gestures on the goat to show they've not done anything wrong, this is a one-time deal of sorts. Loving them is important. Showing them you care is important.

      @@damianmorningstar3150 so, a kid messed with you and picked a fight, you fought back, and in return your father whipped you? Jeez, that's not very good parenting.
      My mother taught me how to fight, block, etc. But after teaching basics, made sure I was moreso taught how to avoid them and to do it in defense. She just asked that I don't pick or start fights, but always finish them.
      Granted, I'm from CA where they punish both parties, even suspending both kids when a bully beats one up, so I always thought I would get in trouble, so ehh.... didn't get to use the knowledge very much....still, I hope after your fight that the kid never touched your milk again. ^~^

      Yeah, that’s terrible. That just says that he was more concerned with having possibly shamed in public over his own child. There’s nothing wrong with defending yourself from bullies. Screw adults who say otherwise, especially the teachers who never handle it and just mete out punishment to all or, worse, just to the student who was acting in self-defense. No matter what the cartoons and movies try to tell you, teachers aren’t reasonable authority figures you can go to for your problems. Heck, this should be eminently obvious assuming you’re an adult yourself now, working with other people.

    • @nephatrine
      @nephatrine 3 года назад +7

      @@KeiosKod Self-defense should be only what is needed to stave off the attacker - even as an adult there can be consequences if you defend yourself using more force than the attacker. A milk carton being poured onto you barely counts as an attack and so initiating physical combat is hardly a proportional response much less a necessary one.

    • @KeiosKod
      @KeiosKod 3 года назад +28

      @@nephatrine I disagree here. A pacifistic response won’t protect a kid in school, let’s be realistic. Physically fighting back to that kind of thing is what wards off further bullying attempts. I’m not saying a kid should beat the teeth out of their bullies, but some pummeling is definitely needed. Being patient or asking a teacher for help won’t produce any real, tangible results. The latter especially, since they’d just give the same advice you’re saying and have the kid bear with it and the bully getting what’s tantamount to a slap on the wrist, if anything.

    I've watched this video before but I wanted to let you know that I finally had to flip my buckling. He actually caught me off guard and poked a hole in my leg drawing blood. I did exactly what you showed me to do in this video. later on he got frisky around me but this time I was prepared for what he was going to do. He bumped me on the side of the leg and continued to press on with his Horns and attitude. In total within a period of 15 minutes I had to flip him 3 times. the fourth time he came for me he brushed his body against me and decided that putting his horns to work was a bad idea. I'm sure he'll try again, but your instruction has been very useful. Marc, I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the time you take teaching me to care for, love and nurture my goats. You probably hear this a lot but just wanted to thank you for posting this video. We have a 12 month old buck who kept coming over to me and rubbing his head on me and pushing me gently with his horns and would stand in my way and not move, also began to raise up on back legs in attack position. So I flipped him and he submitted, got up and started pushing me again. So I flipped him again and now he doesn't push me or rub up against me and I can walk right through him and he backs down and walks away. I'm amazed! Thanks so much, Daniel, Denmark

    I appreciate the care you're showing to the goat while demonstrating proper disciplinary techniques. This was really interesting and insightful, in spite of the fact that my family does cattle and turkeys.
    Cheers.
