I am 21 as well and bought my house at 20 (by myself). I was able to save enough money from working only at Walmart and basically saving every penny that I could for a down payment. I absolutely love my house so much, it is the best decision of my life by far. It’s amazing to be able to customize every aspect of a home and fit it to your liking. It’s a different feeling to come home everyday to a home that you bought and own. And my realtor made the home buying process very easy.
Exact same here!! Every single dime was from my own hard work & it still is the best decision I have made thus far.. Definitely considering rent prices right now! Congrats 🥳
Girl I could NOT have said it better myself. Buying a house IS NOT EASY. My husband and I are building and it is one of the hardest things we've done 🙃
@CherylWilson-te2qf I grew up with no parents. Raised by my 81 yr old grandpa who was on a ventilator in a trailer park in rural kentucky. That's what gave me motivation to be diligent with my money. Sounds like you need to get started.
4 ways to avoid PMI: 1) 20% downpayment 2) Get a loan that don’t require PMi (programs are out their for First Time Homebuyers, Teachers, Police etc) 3) Piggyback mortgage (10% downpayment) 4) Make the lender pay (LPMI) Only aim to pay off your home early if it’s a forever home.
Congratulations on buying your home! I don’t know you honey. BUT, this video helps me A LOT! And has made me even more excited to purchase my home. I’m so excited. Thank you soooo much for the tips!
You don’t always have to have pmi when buying if you put 20% more down unless you are on a fha, pmi stays on for the life of the loan, If you can get qualified to get conventional, go conventional . Just like down payment assistant, they don’t tell you but it’s technically a lien on the home, so if you ever try to refinance and get cash out, that lien has to be paid off.
Me amd my fiance are about 2 weeks or sooner to closing we are so nervous but I'm so happy we are getting out of an apartment with 3 dogs and 3 kids 😮. We got a FHA as well and barely going thru the inspection. Prayers and positive vibes 🎉❤😊
What job did you get to buy a house at 21? Im 18, finishing up high school and I want to get ahead in life like you did. Could you explain how you got to the position you’re in right now? Do you rent out rooms to your roommates? Or do you have a husband or boyfriend that helped you out with expenses?
It’s not really about my job. You just have to make sure you can afford the house you are trying to buy. If you are going for a bigger house you are going to pay more every month just not as much as you would renting. I do not rent out rooms. It is just enough for my kids & I. Also, I bought my home alone so I made sure I could afford it alone.
Thank you so much for your tips and advice. You explained in simple enough terms for even me to understand. I’m 24 but I live in California so I think getting a house will have to wait a while lol but still good information to know beforehand
Thanks for sharing! That is exciting at 21 years old. I can imagine you have so much to share with your friends and family as they go through this kind of decision. My situation was kind of the opposite, family involvement wise. I’m the youngest in my family. My parents are Landlords and some of my siblings are homeowners. My parents put my name on their property. We get to house some other people from the community by God’s grace. I have done more traveling in the family by God’s grace so I have grown to value staying at home and traveling to others states and other countries.
Yeah I'ma wait until I get section 8 I'm in a nice program that helps people with disability and they also help with resources its a recovery home but it's non profit I really like it I'm half way there of being independent ☺️
Question girly! I am signing next week our new build will be done in September. But my question is do you think it’s a big deal if one month I was making less then I normally do? I was sick and I cut my house to like 25-30 but it was just a month. Now I am back to my normal schedule…
Hi girl, my biggest concern is honestly mortgage. I’ve been trying to save up a good amount of money for the down payment for that same reason. About how much did you pay for your house and how much are you paying for mortgage.
Hi girl hi CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! How are you? What home loan company did you go with?? I’m in nc I’m actually looking at the LGI homes I don’t know which is better for a first time owner with low credit score I’m super excited I come across your page and maybe a subscriber Can you give me an example on total price of a home and what that 10% down looks like? Not your information; but an example. Also is there anyway around paying that 10% down? Like 5% cause I’m a first time home owner etc etc. so get a realtor and go from their you would say? Or find the home then get a realtor; I just don’t won’t anyone to get me if I don’t have to pay but so much. Me and my pastor definitely going to pray about this and move accordingly I just suscibed to your channel
I live in NYC and i can’t decide if i want to buy a home in Jersey after I finish college or buy a car for my 21st birthday (2024) to travel to college easily. :(
Yes girl, I want to build a home buttttttttt I’m not sure where I went to live right now. 🤔 Congratulations 🍾 I’m in Pgh (Pittsburgh) right now and not sure what my next stop is. My mom wants me to move closer to home. 😭
I’m new to this and wanting to ask you some questions if you could suggest how much someone should have saved and as far as a credit score is concerned how much on average do you think a person should save for a down payment
I would save like $7,000-10,000 to be comfortable (if you’re going for a house around 200,000). Closing costs might be more than that but you can always ask to pay a certain amount (for example $5,000) & ask the seller to add the remaining closing cost to the price of the home.
Hey, I'm new to the channel, but I have a questions. Not to be nosey, but what type work do you do? I would love to buy a house one day but I don't have a job paying a lot of money. Btw: great info!!
Omg they called your job?? Why lol..I mean I understand they want to make sure your income is up to part but isn’t that what checking paystubs and bank statements are for?? In SC that’s all they ask for. And plus our job report our pay so we can’t lie 😂 my lender knew how much I made before even telling her 🤣 I was like omg can’t hide from the government 🤣😭

@CherylWilson-te2qf nope, saved everything myself. I literally don’t buy anything I don’t need and don’t have a car payment like most people do.
Are you serious? I was thinking about doing that with my next home 😳 it will be worth it in the end!

i love how you got right into it❤ im 20 and after living in my first apartment for $1000, im ready for a house😂
I’m saying bruh 😭
Make sure their is no pre payment fee for paying extra. That’s why banks want you to pay a set amount each month, so they can get paid.

I'm 26 living in MD and have no student debt and I still don't see buying a home to be something I can do at the moment. No kids or pets either.
I'm also employed in the real estate industry forgot to mention that!
My hold up is I don't like where I live and I can't seem to find comparable work where I want to relocate to.
Congratulations 🎉,thank you
I am 21 and finally has the financial capability to save up for a house. I have a dream of owning a home before 2030. Wish me luck!

I would say buy a used car first (no payments), save to buy a house (if interest rates aren’t too bad in that state) then go get that dream car!
Congrats 🎊🎉
Yes girl, I want to build a home buttttttttt I’m not sure where I went to live right now. 🤔

How do you find a realtor or home loan agency?
My realtor was a family friend & she referred me to a home loan agency that she used before
