Don’t be embarrassed that your mom still cooks for you, it’s actually really nice! Also I like to see what your parents make cuz it inspires me to recreate the dishes ☺️
to be honest it's really just western culture for kids to be fully independent right when they turn 18. in Asian families and cultures, it's completely normal to live with your parents and family even when you're financially independent. As long as you have a healthy bond with your parents, it's a great system and very beneficial too. people who mock others for living with their parents or eating what their parents make are honestly quite lame and dumb.
i can kinda confirm it. im asian, living in asia. i'm on my uni final year, and my mom still cooks for me (we mostly cook together tho haha). my older sister is a doctor, but she still stays at home so that she can save up money to buy herself her own place. my neighbour is actually a joint-family of 3. i was surprised when i watch western films or read news from the west, that kids are "kicked out" from their house after 18 and expect them to be independent. nobody is ashamed to live with their parents here haha
exactly, it's the same in Arab countries. living with your parents is the normal thing to do, moving out has to be a NECESSITY if you're traveling for uni or smthn.
also I think we're the right ones here, your parents take care of you while they can, you take care of them when they get older, you don't just throw them in some kind of place for the elderly or cut connection..
