NOT scared of any fast bowling attack and he NEVER wore a helmet whilst batting. He always displayed confidence of his batting strengths. During his time there was NO other batsman among the world Test cricketing nations (Except Graham Pollok of SA - No test status) to match or compete the skills of VIV RICHARDS. 👌🏻

It was a very low intensity innings as they were chasing a paltry 179. Never any pressure, and he was able to take a lazy 104 balls to reach 76, which is nearly 20% lower than his career strike rate. This innings would rank very low down on any list from Richards in either form of the game.

pitches uncovered, boundaries not brought in and more importantly against a ball which had a much pronounced seam. The disconcerting bounce and swing of the those balls were much more vicious than the ones we have today, the pads were heavier and the protective equipment’s were very basic to say the least. Compare the gloves used then and now!

Vic Richards certainly is one of the greatest batsmen cricket has ever seen. Well done to him for punishing any bowler who tried to sledge him. In one case, after he had missed several balls, the bowler informed him “It is red, round and weighs about 5 ounces, in case you were wondering”. The next ball Vic Richards hit for 6, going so high that it went over the stadium and into a river. He then told the bowler “You know exactly what it looks like, now go and find it”. The perfect response to a sledge!
I look forward to seeing the Viv Richards museum when I visit Antigua in March next year.

As a US baseball fan, I think a couple of those dropped catches should have been routine, But Viv! As a bowler, who was your most feared batsman?

Don't care about averages or number of centuries or total runs scored, I'd rather see Sir Viv bat again over anybody else.

I feel like Viv Richards took revenge on behalf of England who were hammered by Sir Donald Bradman 😀. Richards has most of his top scores agains the Aussies.
