The book of Revelation, the most horror book of the bible, no wonder it inspired so many amazing metal songs :D I thought JWs only published two books on Rev., "The finished mistery" and "Revelation. Its great climax at hand!". I just started listening and already I can see that I will learn a lot of new interesting facts.
Thank you Joanna! Oh no, they have rolled out 5 books on the subject, but the last one is off shelfs and nothing in 35 years. LOL....have they given up?
I’m 3 years younger than you Stacey and quite frankly I was looking forward to the 1988 Revelation book! Well that anticipation soon dissipated! In particular, when the scrolls in Revelation were opened, just conveniently there was a major convention to suit! Erm “Advertise, Advertise etc etc. it wasn’t much later that I ha had enough. In 1995 I was done.

WOW!!! Same age here. You made me laugh so much 😂😂. For the grand climax book... I never studied that. I DA myself in 1985, Same year I was blackmailed into baptism!! Wasn't it an eye opener with all the changes, etc.. ?? 😂
Thank you so much! I really need to laugh more and I'm glad it doesn't annoy everyone! 1985: the year I got baptized at 17....and I was guilted into it too!
The horses with locust wings always used to freak me out when I opened the climax book. Freakish awe and fear. 😂😂. I've watched a documentary about the Exorcist. That's as far as I go even though I don't believe in the supernatural hehehe. But childhood indoctrination runs deep. Oh i remember picking one up at the London bethel in around 2017. It's a collectors item for sure. Full of failed prophecy. The climax book was a shot in the foot especially as it referenced many outside sources.
I was born in '84. As far back as I can remember, the Revelation Climax book was on the shelf next to My Book of Bible Stories. I treated the two similarly -- picture books. I devoured those two book as if BOTH of them were story books for children. No one stopped me; no one paused to think, Hang on, is this really suitable for small kids? No. It was all approved by the organization, so therefore perfectly good and beneficiary. I never studied the Revelation Climax book. My mom was 'spiritually weak' during those years. So, it was just me, looking at pictures, or reading if I read, on my own. For instance, the picture about the locusts?! Yeah, TODAY I learned that those things were supposed to be the GOOD GUYS!! 🤣I know the picture very well, but I guess I never read the text. I had no idea. (I mean, I heard that they'd rather recently learned to read the Bible in context and change their view on some locusts, and that the apostate community snickered, but I didn't know what locusts they were referring to.) The four horsemen? Hello, childhood! 🙋♀ Seriously, though, we need to quit giving pen and paper to people who are clearly as far off their rocker as was St. John of Patmos. 🤦♀
I love it Elcyah! I was probably just slightly older than you and that book made a huge impact on so many of us as kids. Each of those crazy illustrations had the most absurd explanations. I think John was on mushrooms LOL
I came in contact with the Jw's in '88 and found their teachings attractive and different. I eventually became an unbaptized publisher. Going door to door was horrid. I was given the red revelation book and read it and I found it utter nonsense. Long story short I never got baptized and just went my own way. Some things they teach I still believe. The fascination left as I left. You have a great listening voice and I subscribed. Will watch your other videos.

When the revelation book came out I was excited as I thought I would better understanding on the book of revelation. The book study was a slog and boring. Then in 1992 or so we studied it again due to the urgency of the times. Did you cover the 60's books? They were wordy and dry. Not a lot of pictures but seemed more scriptural and historical. Thank you, great video! Speaking of the 1 hour book studies is a podcast on the life and demise of that in the queue.
Hi Phil, yes, we mention both of the '60's books briefly, but Revelation Climax was so absurd......there was zero effort to appear scholarly like the earlier books
Yes it was my aunt my mom's youngest sister the one that went the hardest and still does for JW but now that I look back she used to play in our faces. Man; remember alllll of this. Thank u for taking down memory lane. What’s so ironic about JWs is this: 1. Books like these r now obsolete b/c it’s old light, yet it was truth at that time, however 2. JWs love revising old light & romanticizing it via current publications &/or broadcasts. So that begs the ?, why aren’t JWs allowed to see such old light when it’s bragged upon in current publications? A prime example is found in both the w21 October p. 30 where they brag about the 100th yr anniversary of “The Harp of God” (Spoiler, they featured the revised 1928 version and not the original 1921: “Millions Now Living Will Never Die”, version…hmmm, I wonder y?) In the same yr, the 2021 Annual Meeting featured David Splane boasting about this book, including stating Charles Russell is no doubt in heaven helping to direct the preaching work to fulfill his life’s goal. I mean, I was flabbergasted, & I specifically asked my devout JW mom, as an elder, three questions: 1. If it’s old light, then how is it being praised & presented as truth? 2. If it’s truth, why are we not allowed to see it? 3. Since when do members of the 144k get involved in preaching work? I thought their sole purpose was to gather, become united, & destroy the world. The amount of silence & trying to make excuses was film worthy.
It is absolutely stunning that these same books are buried somewhere, but they still roll them out as historical proof of their divine nature! Jesus is now using eBay and Amazon to get those books out there.....right? LOL :)
I have to admit I liked the Revelation Grand Climax book ..... back in the day, that is. I still have my own copy, dutifully underlined. The picture on page 9 of the writer peering through his studious glasses intent on understanding deep scripture, with the aid of Holy spirit, is how I always pictured the Governing Body .... and what did we end up with? No need for names! We know what we ended up with ...... clowns! And it's so maddening to think we would have died to protect such literature which is now old light. And then they go and join the UN, which is utterly condemned in this book. Sheesh! You had the right idea to laugh at it when it first came out, I wish I had!!!
I wish I had saved my Revelation Climax book! I tossed mine and I regret it. It was heavily studied. I remember that illustration; it doesn't fit those guys whatsoever! LOL The UN thing still looks VERY large in my opinion!

Great podcast Stacey,,,, oh yes I do remember the illustrations on those 2 books, you can live forever on a paradise on earth distributed in 1978 I think and that scarlet red book revelation,,,,our Spanish translation was "Apocalipsis" but man those images I mean wow I was like 10 or 11 late 80s into 90s and felt a bit weird and yucky looking at the tigers with six heads Babylon the whore dancing with men drinking wine, a dragon coming from the ground,,, I admire how you ended this podcast with that bible text about the aftermath to anyone who changes like the JWS have done already 5× their literature,,, great podcast Stacey and till next week.
I was gonna say, we're due up for some new light any day now. It must be insufferably boring being a JW nowadays, I mean in our time we had the Revelation book, Daniel, the two Isaiah books, and some annointed ones from 1914 were still alive, exciting times! But those times are long gone. No more new light (apart from a new bible and two new updates to the songbook, which evidently Jesus' taste in music isn't getting better) The new bibles really puzzle me. Why does almighty God need to update his Word? I always thought that the NWT was the ultimate, definitive translation. What happened there? I guess that whole "the bible interprets itself" went sideways, that's why in the new "silver sword" they removed a shitload of references down the middles and bottom of the pages 😂 That one got away from them. Too many people were waking up by reading the bible 😂😂😂😂.
All fantastic points! There is zero 'depth' to anything they do now. Gone are the days of attempts at 'deep' Bible teachings, books, etc. It's all straight propaganda. The new 'bibles' are truly hilarious!

That being said; do you ever do a video that I could actually use to fertilize that tiny seed of doubt in some JW’s mind? Like my wife for instance who is still an active JW.? This video would do nicely if you hadn’t delivered it in a silly, ridiculous tone. I know it must be fun to do these videos. But whom do you make them for? I know the nexgen XJW’s and apostate babies who are so easily triggered will hit me with a lot of vitriol for saying this, but I thought it might give you reason to think.
Hi Bill, great to meet you and thank you for listening and for the feedback! I appreciate all constructive criticism. If I'm understanding your thoughts correctly, you may be looking for something more 'academic' or 'secular' in nature to use to get someone thinking, including your wife? Lot's of respect for what you're going through with someone you love so much. In terms of my style, there are so many more studious people discussing these same subjects on RUclips or in other media forms. It just isn't me and I stay true to myself, my personality and my own shortcomings. I committed to that from the beginning. I may not be your cup of tea and that is VERY understandable. I have to respectfully disagree on your thought regarding the audience and the potential for a defensive stance from a listening JW. While it's undoubtedly true, there are yet many others that may prefer something different like this...and many wonderful people have given me such feedback. No hurt feelings here, I understand your request, I'm just not 'that person'.... I'm not sure your age, but we are likely in the same age group and you're right, our group struggles with different things or styles. If just discovering my crazy podcast, take a look at some other episodes. I'm always myself, including all the emotions. Some are much more serious than others.....if this is your first episode, you may like others more than this. Either way, I appreciate you taking the time to send a note and I wish you nothing but success in waking up your lovely wife. I wish I had a magic answer, but I know you know there isn't one.
Could I ask what do you believe now? Do you still believe in the bible? I'm trying figure it out for myself. But looking into King James and who he was leaves me scratching my head. Ugh
Hi! Congratulations on your journey, keep searching!! I'm very agnostic and believe the Bible is valuable as literature/history, but not as an inspired book if that makes sense...I highly recommend studying!!
You all are putting way too much importance on the GB they are just men like all of us. They are members of the GB because they have spiritual qualifications. Also, the bible is not to be taken literally as Ex-JWs you all should know that. It doesn't take much imagination to see that the book of Revelation is highly symbolic. To understand the book of Revelation requires a thorough understanding of the Hebrew scriptures and in particular the book of Daniel and book of Ezekiel. About monsters you should know that the bible uses wild beast to represent kingdoms and prostitute to represents false worshipers of God. Ancient Israel is a good example of that. Since ancient Babylon was the seat of false worship in the world at the time it is only fitting that Babylon the Great would represent the world of false religion today not the JW organization. But then the true God allows people to believe in a lie and be deceived and he limits who can understand his word the bible. It is all about the heart. As far as being the mouthpiece of God I would think that anyone who speaks the truth from God's written word would be his mouthpiece. Revelation does not prophecy about vacuum cleaners that is ridicules. (1) Blowing both trumpets called the whole assembly of Israel to the tent of meeting; (2) blowing one trumpet would summon only the chieftains who were heads over thousands; and (3) blowing fluctuating blasts signaled the breaking up of camp.-Nu 10:3-7. So, in the book of revelations who were the trumpet blast calling and why?
The Governing Body require strict obedience and there are millions of pages of quotes to prove it. JW's are to follow them even if the counsel makes no sense.....THEIR words Ron.....
@@survivingparadisepodcast It is all in how you interpret the information about obedience. All JWs are obedient to God's word and understand Jesus Christ is in charge not man.
@@ronhansen8471 Incorrect and you know it. Strict obedience to the Governing Body is required as a JW. "The plain truth is that we cannot say that we trust in Jehovah if we do not trust in his earthly representatives-those whom Jehovah trusts. Today Jehovah leads the earthly part of his organization by means of "the faithful and discreet slave."" Watchtower 2022 Feb p.4
@@survivingparadisepodcast You think strict obedience to the GB is required for each JW? You must think JW are brainless uneducated people with zero understanding of what God's word the bible teaches. There is no question that we as JWs accept the direction given by the GB as those looking out for our well fair. The direction given by the GB must always follow God's laws and principals. If not we ignore it. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses we know what the bible teaches, and no one can trick us into believing a lie. JWs follow Jesus Christ not men. The members of the governing body are imperfect men like all of us with a special assignment like that of the apostles. If people would stop and think about their place on this planet they would realize that each one of us has to be obedient to someone or something like it or not.
@@survivingparadisepodcast Who lead the Israelites out of Egypt? Who did King Solomon lead who did King David lead? Who did King Hezekiah lead? Were they not God's earthly representatives. I laugh as I remember I would alter some of the pictures inside.... One I turned into Freddie from Nightmare On Elm Street..... And others would laugh when they saw my altered pictures.. I did get into trouble from the book study conductor who also found the drawings amusing but still had to tell me off. So I had 2 copies and one I would show off to certain people while the main one I would show it off to those I knew would not grass me up......
LOL, I would LOVE to see your book! That had to be hilarious!!
Thank you sir for another great Monday morning. FYI nobody would complain about a 2 hour episode.
Thanks Deo! LOL, I appreciate you! You would be surprised at some of the messages I get about going too long and my sense of humor...😁
Or a double episode in a week
Had to put printed out labels over complete paragraphs in the Revelation Book because of "ever changing light."
I remember doing that as well!!
Oh! ✋ wait please, I think I will need a couple Tylenol, this will give me a headache!
I took 4 just to talk about it!
The book of Revelation, the most horror book of the bible, no wonder it inspired so many amazing metal songs :D
I thought JWs only published two books on Rev., "The finished mistery" and "Revelation. Its great climax at hand!". I just started listening and already I can see that I will learn a lot of new interesting facts.
Thank you Joanna! Oh no, they have rolled out 5 books on the subject, but the last one is off shelfs and nothing in 35 years. LOL....have they given up?
Even though, I live it. When you become christian, you understand its saying that happy is who reads it.
Another great video! Big takeaway is Tony Morris must be working at either Amazon or eBay now and disturbing the spiritual food there 🤣
Hahaha
LOL, that is HILARIOUS!!!!
We are close in age! I'm so glad you got out.....I wasn't quite out when you left....I still had to learn a lesson LOL
I absolutely detested going to the book study!… my mother insisted on having it at our house!… One time when I was about 16 I didn’t want to go I wasn’t feeling well, so I was in my bedroom, and the book study conductor came in to my bedroom, and said Nadine why aren’t you out at the book study… I was in my nightgown getting into my bed when he came in!
WHAT?? a grown man entered a young girls bedroom where the book study was being hosted??? insane!!! why did your mother allow that???

@Shane Ekwall BIG FAN of Dr. Carrier! Love his stuff and it's so insightful. There are some fantastic scholars that really expose the Bible's origins

Danke. Greetings from Upper Austria.
HI Vae, Welcome!
I must be an outlier but I was fascinated by Revelaion as a kid in the 70s.
The graphics in paradise lost book, where the people were falling down a crack in the earth ( an earthquake) I wanted to know where they would land, whats down there, you know journey to the center of the earth.
YES! I was a lot like you.....I loved learning and I wanted my questions answered! The Paradise book was my first exposure too!
Thanks for sharing. I also would close my eyes and repeat Jehovah anytime I was scared.😅
Did it all the time as a kid!!!
Love it! I'm the same, I don't watch those movies to this day....indoctrinated!! Jealous you have a book, I tossed mine!
I have the original print
(I mean, I heard that they'd rather recently learned to read the Bible in context and change their view on some locusts, and that the apostate community snickered, but I didn't know what locusts they were referring to.)
The four horsemen? Hello, childhood! 🙋♀
Seriously, though, we need to quit giving pen and paper to people who are clearly as far off their rocker as was St.
Thank you Bruce! I appreciate you listening! I'm even MORE glad you got out early......I respect spirituality and am agnostic. Some of what they teach has benefits!
👋@ 20:10... "Ghost Writers" 😂😂😂

I was born and raised as a JW. I was always afraid of the end to come when I was little. Left at 18 and was able to talk my family out a few years later. I got lucky
I'm SO GLAD you got to keep your family!! That is rare and speaks to the love they have for you.....love it Kelly, free and with family!
@@survivingparadisepodcast oh man it was a crazy ride. Im surprised I even was able to do what I did. Now 80% of my extended family are JWs and think we're just inactive because we dont want to lose them.
They even nicknamed me "Bird Seed" for not going to meetings and field service. I loved the nickname so it backfired on them.
@@kellyshea92 You played your hand well!! I tell people all the time that there is no need to 'make a point' by leaving, just claim that you're 'weak or depressed'....and keep your family. It often works....I'm so sorry you have to deal with all of this nonsense!
WoW ...... AGAIN!! .....EXCELLENT PRESENTATION!!!
Thank you!!
Love your channel name. Your voice sounds very familiar.
:) Thanks Paradise Lost.....uh oh, maybe we know each other ;) I share my history here a lot on other episodes
Yes it was my aunt my mom's youngest sister the one that went the hardest and still does for JW but now that I look back she used to play in our faces. We couldn't watch The Smurfs He-Man or listen to Michael Jackson or nasty girl by vanity because they were demonized and the funny part is when she used to always say demonized we thought she was saying demon eyes. I was three years ago old when I realized it was demonized and not demon eyes
LOL, that's hilarious Adrian! Demon Eyes! Oh yeah, all of that stuff was off limits!
@@survivingparadisepodcast crazy. She's still a devout witness. I ask since they were wrong about '75 and COVID, shouldn't they be closed, but she carries on like I'm still 8 years old and gets mad too, but I remain respectful, shes too far gone to admit it

Man; remember alllll of this. Thank u for taking down memory lane.
What’s so ironic about JWs is this:
1. Books like these r now obsolete b/c it’s old light, yet it was truth at that time, however
2. JWs love revising old light & romanticizing it via current publications &/or broadcasts.
So that begs the ?, why aren’t JWs allowed to see such old light when it’s bragged upon in current publications?
A prime example is found in both the w21 October p. 30 where they brag about the 100th yr anniversary of “The Harp of God” (Spoiler, they featured the revised 1928 version and not the original 1921: “Millions Now Living Will Never Die”, version…hmmm, I wonder y?)
In the same yr, the 2021 Annual Meeting featured David Splane boasting about this book, including stating Charles Russell is no doubt in heaven helping to direct the preaching work to fulfill his life’s goal.
I mean, I was flabbergasted, & I specifically asked my devout JW mom, as an elder, three questions:
The UN thing will never go away .... it will always be there to bite the Governing Body on the collective bum!
Same here,with the movies,LOL.👹👻

Did you know that Russell was a knights Templar of a Masonic lodge. That’s fact. I knew he had a pyramid on his grave
Lot's of history with him and his Masonic background. Great resource on his history is Barbara Anderson, longtime member of Bethel.....she has some great stuff on him
Great podcast Stacey,,,, oh yes I do remember the illustrations on those 2 books, you can live forever on a paradise on earth distributed in 1978 I think and that scarlet red book revelation,,,,our Spanish translation was "Apocalipsis" but man those images I mean wow I was like 10 or 11 late 80s into 90s and felt a bit weird and yucky looking at the tigers with six heads Babylon the whore dancing with men drinking wine, a dragon coming from the ground,,, I admire how you ended this podcast with that bible text about the aftermath to anyone who changes like the JWS have done already 5× their literature,,, great podcast Stacey and till next week.
Thank you David! I really love reading comments like this....keeps this history alive for younger generations!
5 months from your comment and we now know the Annual Meeting had new light....

Real Bible theologians agree the Wild beast is Rome, the whore is Jerusalem
Who we’re the ones in bed with each other to crucify Jesus…
Jews and Rome
Who we’re the ones persecuting the early Christians
Jews and Rome
Roman and Jerusalem allied together to destroy this new sect
And then Rome turned on them and destroyed Jerusalem in 70 A.D
How the JW’s got all this extra stuff is beyond me
But what do you expect from a organization that said the Pyramid of Giza will tell you when the end will come
This is just the perfect podacst for exjws. Good healing vibes. Keep up doing these forever Stacy! We all respect these quality podcasts dearly
Wow, thank you SO much Nirvana....feedback is GREATLY appreciated! :)
RUclips just placed your channel into my notifications. It sounds like your life very closely mirrored mine as a Witness. I served as a regular pioneer, Ministerial Servant, and Elder for almost 30 years.
Any Witness who might be secretly interested would be immediately put in a defensive mode instead of actually listening.
I threw out all jw propaganda
So did I sy......when I left, I wanted it gone.....wish I had thought some of that through
Could I ask what do you believe now? Do you still believe in the bible? I'm trying figure it out for myself. But looking into King James and who he was leaves me scratching my head. Ugh

Did not the apostles lead the Christians in the 1st century CE? Jehovah has always had someone lead his people.
