This is the intro video of a full series, which you can find here (all free): www.yourguitaracademy.com/courses/diminished-chords/lessons/the-wonderful-world-of-diminished
I really appreciate and see a lot of humor in how you stopped this video after explicitly explaining that an understanding of the e major scale would be required to continue. I literally back tracked my learning to understand it better. It was a good ole slap in the face! xD Any other video I might of carried on and got lost. Thanks!
His presentation starts at 2:48. That's half way through the video! And then all he does is explain the major scale and he NEVER explains diminished chords at all. WTF? I like he puts the cap back on each marker after every time he uses it, just to take it off one second later to use the marker again lol. Most useless video ever? Maybe. Why did youtube recommend this to me? Bizarre.
Hi there! Yes of course, and this video is just the first setup video for a longer series all on diminished... www.yourguitaracademy.com/courses/diminished-chords Give it a try! Hopefully you’ll find what you need.
I watched the whole video and you didn't answer the question! Now I have to go watch some other video to actually get the answer? Well, where is that video? Is this video just bait to get people to buy lessons from some other website? It's fine to sell your service as a music teacher because you deserve to paid for your work. But that's not why I clicked the video! I went looking for a video precisely because I can't afford a teacher!! If this video is just a commercial for your other services, brand it as such so the rest of us who aren't going to buy don't waste our time!
It's all here: www.yourguitaracademy.com/courses/diminished-chords/lessons/the-wonderful-world-of-diminished - This was the first video of a 5 video series talking about diminsihed chords.
Sorry if it seems that way :( We really don’t do click bait, this is just the first video in a series of 5... so Dan sets the scene as it were in this one. Apologies!
Hi Bobby, the Diminished Triad and Tetrad are correct but the other chords aren't quite right. There is no use of half flats or a bb6. The Diminished (Diatonic) is only partly correct for is you were playing in a major key and is know more commonly as a half-diminished chord where the one with a bb7 is a fully diminished chord.
A Half-Diminished is a Quarter-Note Diminished Chord, Not m7b5, therefore m7b5 is Stacked with Minor Thirds so Therefore it is also a Fully Diminished Chord but with a Major Third on Top
Hi Andrew! Good point well made! This is the first in a set of 5 videos talking in depth about the diminished chord, which is why the intro is a little slower. Apologies for that. Here is the full course for free: www.yourguitaracademy.com/courses/diminished-chords
Is this a joke? A least type "prerequisites" in the title, or something. But apparently you'd rather have a title that is 100% unrelated to the video itself. Way to go.
Hi Nix, sorry you feel angry about the video - It was really designed as the first on a series, but we didn't think to apply any specifics to the title, sorry about that. You can find the whole series for free here: www.yourguitaracademy.com/courses/diminished-chords Thanks Nix.
Hi there! Sorry you didn't like the vid! Remember it is part of a series of videos that are intended to provide 'baby steps' through the theory! Probs more intended for beginners to the whole thing! www.yourguitaracademy.com/courses/diminished-chords This is the full series if you are interested (all free of course!)
Sorry you feel that way. It is a mistake with the title (not a deliberate click bate thing). It's the first part of a course of 5 free lessons, which you can find here: www.yourguitaracademy.com/courses/diminished-chords
Hi there! Sorry you felt that - This is part of a wider seires about the diminished chord, so maybe worth checking out to get the full thing: www.yourguitaracademy.com/courses/diminished-chords
If you want a super quick answer, a diminished chord is Root 👏 b3 👏 b5! ( The b5 is the one here that really makes it diminished as if it was R b3 5 it would just be minor) Hope this answers your question a little more :)
Hi there, sorry you didn't like it, but remember that this is the first lesson in a series of 5 that you can find here www.yourguitaracademy.com/courses/diminished-chords In this lesson we set up the chord theory then we go into more specific diminished chord theory in the following lessons. Give them a try!

shocking
if you want to hear a 5 minute plug and learn nothing about diminished chords watch this video
Thanks man. Really wanted to learn how the major scale worked! It was hard to find this video though, since the title is entirely misleading
Probably want to change this title to what are the notes in E Major 🤔
E f#g#a b c#d#e❤
Ummm...I think you forgot the one thing that I clicked on your stinkin’ video for.
THIS.
I really appreciate and see a lot of humor in how you stopped this video after explicitly explaining that an understanding of the e major scale would be required to continue. I literally back tracked my learning to understand it better. It was a good ole slap in the face! xD Any other video I might of carried on and got lost. Thanks!
Wasted 5 minutes of my life, dislike
Besides the prerequisites. At least he had stated what a diminished chord was at the beginning. lol
His presentation starts at 2:48. That's half way through the video! And then all he does is explain the major scale and he NEVER explains diminished chords at all. WTF?
I like he puts the cap back on each marker after every time he uses it, just to take it off one second later to use the marker again lol.

You'd think that someone looking up how a diminished chord works would understand the major scales....
Hi there! Yes of course, and this video is just the first setup video for a longer series all on diminished... www.yourguitaracademy.com/courses/diminished-chords Give it a try! Hopefully you’ll find what you need.
I don't lol
Thank Goodness, the video was playing while I was doing something else. I should have regretted my 5 minutes stolen.
I watched the whole video and you didn't answer the question! Now I have to go watch some other video to actually get the answer? Well, where is that video? I already know this. I am here for something else.
2021 Bruno mars is playing soul and jazz😂
A perfect example of click bait!
Sorry if it seems that way :( We really don’t do click bait, this is just the first video in a series of 5... so Dan sets the scene as it were in this one. Apologies!
@@yga What a terrible excuse that is. Why does a 5-video series mean your video titles can't match the content of whats in them?
Diminished Triad = R b3 b5
Half-Diminished Triad = R d2 b3
Diminished Sixth = R b3 b5 bb6
Diminished Tetrad = R b3 b5 bb7
Diminished (Diatonic) Tetrad = R b3 b5 b7
Half-Diminished Tetrad = R d2 b3 d4
d = Half-Flats

The Diminished (Diatonic) is only partly correct for is you were playing in a major key and is know more commonly as a half-diminished chord where the one with a bb7 is a fully diminished chord.
Half-Sharps & Half-Flats are Quarter-Note Accidentals
A Half-Diminished is a Quarter-Note Diminished Chord, Not m7b5, therefore m7b5 is Stacked with Minor Thirds so Therefore it is also a Fully Diminished Chord but with a Major Third on Top
bb7 is a Flattened Dominant 7
b7 is a Flattened Major 7
yo bro thanks for wasting my time ill never get back🤙🏽🤙🏽🔥🔥🔥
almost 3 minutes before it really kicks in. gotta be quicker than that
Hi Andrew! Good point well made! This is the first in a set of 5 videos talking in depth about the diminished chord, which is why the intro is a little slower. Apologies for that. Here is the full course for free: www.yourguitaracademy.com/courses/diminished-chords
And then it doesn't actually "kick in" because he NEVER explains diminished chords at all. He explains the major scale in the key of E. Lol.
Must be exhausting to keep painting your wall black after every RUclips video
Is this a joke? A least type "prerequisites" in the title, or something. But apparently you'd rather have a title that is 100% unrelated to the video itself. Way to go.

What? We didn't even get to a diminished chord? Why did I just waste 5 minutes?
*CLICKBAIT VIDEO*
regretted so bad after watching this video, bad strategy.
Sorry you feel that way. It is a mistake with the title (not a deliberate click bate thing). It's the first part of a course of 5 free lessons, which you can find here: www.yourguitaracademy.com/courses/diminished-chords
Subscribed by accident. unsubscribed again.
Bro u talk too much...get to the point
Hi there! Sorry you felt that - This is part of a wider seires about the diminished chord, so maybe worth checking out to get the full thing: www.yourguitaracademy.com/courses/diminished-chords
you should get a job as a young jerry seinfeld look a like
Clickbait at its finest.
At least you made it very clear, why I should never visit your channel again.
Cant believe i wasted my time lol, shoulda read the comments 1st lol
Did 👏 not 👏 answer 👏 the 👏 question
If you want a super quick answer, a diminished chord is Root 👏 b3 👏 b5! ( The b5 is the one here that really makes it diminished as if it was R b3 5 it would just be minor) Hope this answers your question a little more :)
He’s wasted time... that’s that on that.
Why the fuck did I watch this?
good video if i wanted to learn how to do major scales... but you wasted 5 minutes of my life

If you spend it writing shitty comments like that, I doubt you would have accomplished a lot in that time anyway so I wouldn't worry too much.
Thanks Guitar Academy - helpful. This title is misleading is all.
What a bad clickbait title. Thanks for wasting my time.
Change your caption, it really doesn't say anything about diminished chords!! useless
Bruno Mars is not a pop artist anymore. He’s literally every genre but pop
Nice clickbait, bye
just wasted 5 min of my life. Thanks
Thanks for wasting my time 😡😡
Yay .. put on a lab coat for more credibility ???? wt
