One of the most honest videos I've yet seen. The scenes took me right back to my childhood days, on the outskirts of a small town in early 1950s Arkansas. Truly, I could tell scant difference between Ukraine and my immediate neighborhood surroundings as a child. What a wonderful journey for an old man! Thanks a million!
Yep its like 1945 Engla d. Where i grew up.ouside toilet toilet, newspaper and cesspit; oit and gas lighting in living roon; hi kens, rabbits in the yard, washing tubb with woodfire heating. Hand ranked laundry squeezer, dry on line, iron on table in living room, battery powered radio, ....yep, we had it all!!.
@Robert Goss, hi! I am 2nd generation Ukrainian, who will be finally leaving my NYC home of 30+ years to live in Arkansas, where I have visited multiple times and fell in love with the place; it reminded me a bit of the Adirondacks, where I spent a ton of time as a kid. I wonder if my father, who never visited Ukraine, felt something reminiscent of Ukraine even though he has never been there. Wondering which part of Arkansas you grew up in?
Thank you for sharing! Your grandma seems very active and proud of her home. There is something very dignified about growing your own food and tending to your own livestock. I'm sure it keeps both of them lively and happy.

This made me remind me of my grandmother Amelia. She lived with us in our home until she passed away in the early 90's. Nowadays most of our elderly are put in nursing homes, were they exist, until they the day they're gone. I remember when our elderly we're respected and appreciated, welcomed into our lives, given active roles in our education and development into our teen years and beyond. I was amazed by how much land/space was behind the house. What a beautiful place to live. Everything you need to live all around you. ❤️ It’s like a mini market behind the house with livestock and fresh produce.
@@david-lt9wj They probably get left alone in old age homes, or stay in their home, not able to keep it up. The kids just wait for the inheritance. Not all, but more and more often, the old are alone, and their children dont visit them.
@@kimberleyjane2338 one reason they don't get visited is that old people can get incredibly bossy.. And don't realise their children have grown up and are independant ...parents who have loved their children always are looked after.and cared for...and mourned deeply when they've gone...the graveyards are full of sad visitors...and care homes are full of sad old people that have signed off on their probate .and are of no use to their children, anymore.until they die,so then they look forward to the graveyard visits in their newly acquired posh cars, wearing I watches and fancy suits, carrying cheap supermarket flowers, to remember the good times....which they had conveniently forgotten about during the decline of their parents lives.as the children’s lives had become much more important you see, making a buck whenever and wherever they can...and of course they need nice holidays to relax...and honestly there just isn’t the time in the day to visit him again..oh and yes he’s really happy in that smelly fun filled care home ,( Care is what he isn’t getting in there)he’s got lots of friends in there...I actually think he’s quite sweet on an old dear in there...(but you would get a different story if you spoke to him in there.)
@@david-lt9wj True. I'm a frequent visitor at the graveyard, as you say, but I have seen many apparently loving children stop visiting old age homes, once the papers have all been signed. In fact, these greedy children look like saints before that. Children who grew up in "harder" times seem to have more respect, for their parents. Just saying.
We had a family from Ukraine that were members of our church living in US for a few years. After the birth of their second child, they moved back to Kiev. The wife was stunningly beautiful.

This was interesting to see. My grandparents came from over there in the early 1900s. Their farm yard was set up much like what you showed until the 1960s. Then electricity come to the farm and a new house was built with running water, a fridge and an electric stove.
I was lucky enough to visit Ireland back in the late 90s. I did not want to leave your beautiful country... (once I got used to driving on the left side of the road of course.) I was staying with old college friends who live in Ennis. Absolutely beautiful, beautiful land and people. ☘
My family lived in Co. Roscommon. In the 1960's there was no mains water, toilet, gas or electricity in the house. The well was half a mile away & only the kitchen had heat, provided by a turf burning Stanley range. If I thought that was tough, our elderly neighbour lived in a small house like something from the middle ages.
Love the place. I grew up in a village like this. later moved in a city but I felt I can't live with so many people around. The kingly feeling you get in village, you can't have it in a big city.
You were so relaxed and happy in this video last summer... What is happening in these horrible days seems hard to believe... I hope you are still safe and sound
A few years back I visited my wife's hometown of Pazardzhik, Bulgaria. While there we visited most of the spots that tourists would go to like, Sophia, Black Sea, etc. The spot I enjoyed the most was when we visited her grandfather who lived in a small village a few hours from Pazardzhik. His village looked very similar to yours and it reminded me of when I grew up in the 70's in America. It was an honor to meet her grandfather and share a few glasses of Rakia, which by the way is to be sipped not shot. One thing I learned from my experience is that people are people, we all want peace, we all want to be happy and we all want FREEDOM! So Pavlo, I raise my glass to you and your family and say, "Budmo!"
Unfortunate people did not experience village life and the calm it brings and now we have all of us running towards cities to earn a lot and forget what life is

Nice video! The babushka's cow looked very healthy. She gives a LOT of milk too. Life is simple and peaceful in the villages of Ukraine. I wish it were so here in America Well done
Some people still live like this In the us I've met a few, we call it off grid but some people live like this in the southern appalachians, especially the Amish community.
A place where the land gives you everything you need. See how happy they are to show you their home. There's a sense of community. Unlike the concrete jungle where I live.
There's always a few hours drive to a remote half acre to call your own. It's even better if you've got no cell service, a little water, lots of sun and silent nights. Peace, calm and shelter.
Enjoyed your video. As I watched I was thinking about what may be going on with Russia. You all look so peaceful and content at your Babushka. The lady picking up that large onion and displaying it so proudly put a tear in my eye. And yet, things are happening that we only see a very small portion of in the media. I wish you all the best and pray for peace in all of your Babushka's. God's Blessings for all of you from the USA.
Thought Ukraine is getting all the young men to enlist and fight. Or are they just taking the aid money to pay off debt repayments? Clearly he should be enlisted or he is exempt due to farming connections. Just like creative accounting, you can become creative farming too. Good one.
Brings tears to my eyes as this reminds me of my childhood living in a village. Rearing livestocks, harvesting crops, kids were playing, birds were chirping. Ah! What a lovely life we had back then! But one day, all of a sudden, everything changed when a dragon attacked and burnt down the whole village.
Indian here, I can very closely relate to this kind of living. A huge part of our population is rural. This video was beautiful. Away from all the materialistic trash of the 'modern world'.
Materialistic trash? Like devices used to post comments on the internet? Devices to record yourself? I also noticed a dish connected to the house... I suppose if you *have* to defecate in the open...you'd rationalize a way for it to be superior to 'modern' plumbing but...it just sounds like someone trying to avoid reality...to me.
@@wombat5252 we won't. It's none of our business, unless your governments threaten us with sanctions. As long as it doesn't bother us, we are gonna stay neutral ;)
This part of Ukraine looks so beautiful & peaceful. I experienced a similar lifestyle during part of my childhood here in the UK. While it was not all like a fairy tale in reality, it certainly had a lot going for it. Also a basic life doesn't necessarily mean dirty conditions as some have suggested, this certainly looks like a well tended & loved home, just no frills. Being "poor" is relative, "there is always someone worse off than yourself in this world" used to be a common wise saying of our elders. Having more & more possessions etc. in our lives often comes hand in hand with more stress. I hope & pray Babushka & all are still safe & well. God bless Ukraine.💙💛✌
Thanks for sharing your way of life in the countryside. Back yrs ago here we called these mini farms. You have everything you need to survive. I would definitely like to visit someday. The culture helps the family be close and work together.
Amen but God will not protect those who take arms, that is not the gospel He who lives by the sword dies by the sword. I pray for people's salvation so that even if they die (and soon that will be for all of us worldwide as prophecy tells us) their eternal life might be with the Lord.
@AlphaKillero_0 There are professing Christians that the Lord will say "I never knew you to". They can be forgiven in they repented. True believers are those who are not only hearers but doers of the Word. "If you abide in My Word, you are my disciples indeed". We are not to kill or even defend ourselves with violence (Jesus said turn the other check. If we are saved, physical death is not to be feared.) Also Catholicism or orthodox Christianity is not biblical. True faith is not religion, it's being born again and having a relationship with God through His Holy Spirit.
Nice video! So similar to our villages here in central Kenya. The old lady is so happy to show off her cow and farm produce which is great therapy for her. We stand with Ukraine.
I was in the former USSR, from Australia in 1990 on a Contiki Tour out of England. We travelled for some 13 days of 22 through the then Soviet Union. One thing that especially stood out to me was the countryside & the actual humble people we met. Yes we did visit the now Ukraine such Kiev, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Lutsk & everywhere in between, which was a highlight of my several months overseas. I have been back to Kiev & Odessa twice since then. The last time was in 2011. I loved the Ukraine then as I do now. Beautiful country with beautiful people. We’re not so different regardless of where we live.

This was a unexpected recomondations and I'm glad I clicked on it. This is so fasinating and reminds me of my grandmother's house but much smaller , it's such a cool tour. Thank bbukska for letting us tour her house.
I was amazed by how much land/space was behind the house. What a beautiful place to live. Everything you need to live all around you. ❤️ It’s like a mini market behind the house with livestock and fresh produce.
Thank you so very much, this was an enjoyable tour of Babuskas home.
The elderly lady is so sweet. She seems so happy and fulfilled. She is definitely living the good life.
Reminds me of the old days, and the young people are healthy. We need to go back to living fully like this. Love your videos.
Greetings from Tennessee. All of y'all are beautiful happy people. Glad to see y'all are doing well. And that's a good-looking cow for her age.
thank you!:)

Thank you for sharing this life Pavlo, the world loves you and wishes for your safety and freedom!
reminds me of how my grandparents lived in Minnesota, back in 1970's. good memories. thanks.
I love the respect you give your old people, we could learn lot here in Australia.
What happens to old people in Australia ?
@@kimberleyjane2338 the same happens in the UK...

Enjoyed your video Pavlo of your lovely village. God bless you and all your fellow Ukrainians in this difficult time for you. Love and support from your friends in the UK.
I don't know how this came up on my list or how it started to play, but I love it so much. Thank you for sharing. 💜
Great tour Pavlo.
We sold our home in Oregon here in the U.S. and moved to a 12 acre Homestead in Maine! All 100% off grid. This lifestyle is awesome with ZERO stress.
Wow! such a pleasant way of life. No hustle and bustle. It reminds me of when I first visited my parents homeland in the Polynesian Islands of the South Pacific. Very slow and easy going life. No worries and take nice evening walks on the beach. Now I live in California and it is such a big difference. I really enjoyed your Video Pavlo and thank you for sharing. Much love from Southern California. ❤

That hell hole .
I'm pretty sure all that wood doesn't chop itself, and all those animals don't feed themselves, etc. I was thinking, WOW how do they have the time for all that work.

Good day! I have a RUclips channel about life in Ukraine.
I will be glad for your viewing and evaluation of my videos!

This was interesting to see. My grandparents came from over there in the early 1900s. Their farm yard was set up much like what you showed until the 1960s. Then electricity come to the farm and a new house was built with running water, a fridge and an electric stove.

Honestly you could have told me this was a country road in Ireland and I wouldn't have questioned you. Greetings from Ireland. 🇮🇪
Ireland in summer
I totally agree
I was unlucky enough to live in Ireland for a year or so. What a dump.
Love the place. I grew up in a village like this. later moved in a city but I felt I can't live with so many people around. The kingly feeling you get in village, you can't have it in a big city.
Agreed

Wow, reminds me of my times in Brasil, very down to earth people ! What a wonderful way of life! Thank you for sharing!

I love this type of houses and such village life.
With lots of love to you my Ukrainian friends.

Unfortunate people did not experience village life and the calm it brings and now we have all of us running towards cities to earn a lot and forget what life is
Grew up in the Caribbean, I can relate to everything. Can't wait to go back to that lifestyle

I showed it to my 98 year old Grandpa he said it was exactly how his mother described life in Rural Oxfordshire in 1910
Some people still live like this In the us I've met a few, we call it off grid but some people live like this in the southern appalachians, especially the Amish community.

I hope you are all well in this terrible time. Stay strong and safe. Prayers to you from Ireland
A place where the land gives you everything you need. See how happy they are to show you their home. There's a sense of community. Unlike the concrete jungle where I live.
I'm in a concrete jungle too. It sucks.
They are very happy and at peace. This is the kind of "sermon" that the Americans need to see
There's always a few hours drive to a remote half acre to call your own. It's even better if you've got no cell service, a little water, lots of sun and silent nights. Peace, calm and shelter.
But we think we are 'poor', go abroad, only to realise we may have more money, but our Joy is gone...

God's Blessings for all of you from the USA.

yet you watch your liberal city burn but thats ok.
Thought Ukraine is getting all the young men to enlist and fight. Or are they just taking the aid money to pay off debt repayments? Clearly he should be enlisted or he is exempt due to farming connections. Just like creative accounting, you can become creative farming too. Good one.
Such a nice, calm and happy family, love from India.
You made that all up.
Except the dragon part. 🐉

But its quite cleaner than india

Poor really is relative

Amen but God will not protect those who take arms, that is not the gospel

@@mysterygirl30011 fake god
@AlphaKillero_0 There are professing Christians that the Lord will say "I never knew you to". They can be forgiven in they repented. True believers are those who are not only hearers but doers of the Word. "If you abide in My Word, you are my disciples indeed". We are not to kill or even defend ourselves with violence (Jesus said turn the other check. If we are saved, physical death is not to be feared.) Also Catholicism or orthodox Christianity is not biblical. True faith is not religion, it's being born again and having a relationship with God through His Holy Spirit.
Ukraine should stop the racism as well.
Very nice to see this....thank you all for sharing your lives
Cheers and best from MAINE USA. 🙂
