Honestly, I clicked on this video because your thumbnail had a sign to Kakamega High School. I tell you the truth, in this world today, Size, numbers, don't count - only EXCELLENCE counts and makes humans take notice! When I see the words KAKAMEGA HIGH SCHOOL I recall EXCELLENCE! IN SPORTS AND ACADEMICS! Keep the flag of excellence flying high, and Kakamega will be world renowned!
Kakamega lies next to a tropical rain forest, the only rain forest in Kenya....it receives the highest amount of rainfall in Kenya...in terms of living, it should rank higher than most towns in Kenya, fresh air, secure, low cost of living, and very clean.
Gosh, last time I was in Kakamega, was in 2004. I first visited in 2001. Loved the people and the town, but I can see the amazing change since then. I’m British, but have lived in the USA since marrying my American husband. Thank you for posting.
Thanks so much, Oparanya for a good job. Even though I don't sympathize with Azimio's sentiments, I certainly laud Oparanya for this great achievement. Asante Wycliffe
Very very beautiful kakamega city, you cannot compare it with busia town. Busia town is the most undeveloped County in the whole of kenya BRAVO His Exelency. Wikilif Oparanya, Mtu wamaendeleo GOD BLESS YOU MIGHTILY.
To be honest this is my county and am so proud of it. Guys don't forget it has one fresh air and most moderate climatic change ..it's also one straight city with most areas flat ..it's just awsome to be in kakamega town

Nice job, we had waited for long. When you travel through Kakamega all the way to Kaburengo along Eldoret - Malaba Road, you will realize that the governor has done good work. Not forgetting the video you did on Butere side where the roads were amazing. The place has undergone great revolution indeed.
Great piece on the town of my childhood.Done very well.Great seeing some of the places I haven't seen in many years like Lurambi,Bukhungu stadium that is being Upgraded..etc.Good work by the Governor.Kudos also goes out to retired President HE Mwai Kibaki for converting Weco to a fully fledged University-MMUST.This really helped revive the town.
Gov.Oparanya has done a marvellous job. Thanks for highlighting this.My prayer that Kakamega attains a charter,to become a City,in the not so distant future.

Spectacular video. You've showcased my hometown sooo well. Can you go back to next door Kisumu and give us a better, extensive video like this one? The one you previously did was good but no better.
"Khakhamega".....you got it right..... And indeed my governor has done a good job. Unfortunately he is on the last serving term and we don't know if the next governor will develop it upward or downward.

After genealogical testing (DNA), I've learned that my lineage is traced to the Luhya tribe / people native to western Kenya. The researchers determined this to be 99% statistically accurate. I will be returning after my birth and many generations in the USA, visiting kakamega to learn more about my Luhya ancestry and culture. Kakamega is highly recommended for me to visit. Can you recommend places I should visit, and/or tribal member(s) that would be beneficial for me to get in touch with to learn more about my ancestry and culture?
