After playing Ocarina of Time, the next game naturally had to be Majora's Mask. And my gosh, it is phenomenal. I felt so many emotions playing this game. the reason the final boss was so easy is that Fierce Diety is straight up broken. it’s your glorious reward for going so far out of your way to collect all masks and do all the moon stuff (the goron track in particular is the worst)
@@JustinBae if you didn't know, you can also go back to all the boss fights after beating the game and rematch them with the Fierce Diety mask! Unfortunately it's only in boss fights that you're allowed to use it however. Btw, currently watching your Twilight Princess playthrough! It's tough to pick favorites, but Twilight Princess might be mine.
I've always thought it was cool that the FD mask was so cool, but I kind of wish they'd kicked the difficulty up a notch for majora just to make the "cannon" way to beat him fierce deity even if you can beat him without it.
I don’t know how you almost died with the fierce deity’s mask, watching you switch back and forth from link to the fierce deity was hilarious. If you Z target with the fierce deity, it shoots beams out of the sword, you didn’t need to swap back at all.
"'My name's Tatl!' Oh, like tattle tale!" My genuine reaction, I smiled like "Hah, he gets it!" Then immediately went bug-eyed and looked at my screen like "Oh... My... God..." Somehow, in my 20+ years of history with this game, I never picked up on that...
So…Funny enough, I always pronounced it “Tottle” and didn’t get the joke for the first decade playing the game. And then RUclips came along and enlightened me. It still catches me by surprise when people pick up on it so fast.
I gotta say, this is so well edited. The video is long, but it never drags, especially for big fans of the game. Not quite finished watching yet but good on you for doing all of the masks! To me, it's the only way to play. And don't feel bad about needing help, much of the game is totally inscrutable. Clearly designed for 90s kids with nothing to do but try EVERYTHING for literal months or longer. I always tell new Zelda players, try to get through Ocarina without a guide, but for Majora's Mask do not be ashamed to look things up.
Thank you! For these longer videos, I always wanna make sure it's a good balance of pacing and showing my first time reactions to the game. I'm glad that you enjoyed! And I totally agree on the masks, it adds so much to the experience. Hard agree on the difficulty too, some things stumped me to no end
Majora’s Mask has always been my favorite Zelda game. I love the story, the characters, and pretty much everything. Was really fun watching the streams, thank you!
I just finished watching the part of the video where you got the Couple's Mask. Seeing your reaction to that whole thing, in particular how you said that quest made the impending cataclysm threat that much more impactful, made me want to leave this comment. Now obviously I haven't watched all the way through yet, so I'm not sure if you do this, but still I think it worth saying that some people consider it almost a duty to redo the Couple's Mask quest on the cycle where they intend to finish the game.
@@JustinBae There are parts of the ending that only show if you have the masks that correspond to what's happening in those segments. If you don't have the mask in question, it's just a black screen with the mask in question spinning in place. Notably, if you don't have the Couple's Mask that entire wedding scene is omitted as the Couple's Mask sits there spinning, as if taunting you. The change in music remains despite this, not to mention how much longer that particular black screen would linger than the others.
I really hope someone in chat told you what Skullkid said at the end where you accidentally skipped. Him recognizing your scent as "the fairy kid who taught me the song in the woods" is such a cool moment. As a kid I initially didn't love this game. I saw all the reused assets and kind of wrote it off as a lazy rip off. But please understand , i was a stupid preteen at the time. Replaying it in my mid-20s when it was remastered and released for 3DS made me see it in a whole different light. Its so much more surreal than Ocarina of Time, and even has psychological & body horror elements that would be out of place in OoT (or really most other zelda titles). Pretty much every side quest is steeped in melancholy , with the characters all coming to terms with knowing the world is about to end. These all combine into such a dense and forboding atmosphere, which is visually reinforced every time you look up and see the angry moon staring back at you, constantly moving closer and closer to clock town. I could go on but I need to get back to work lol. Really enjoyed the video my dude.
Been waiting for this video since I saw you started streaming the game and it was honestly so fun you’ve convinced me to just go watch the full VODs. Keep up the good work
Dude, I stumbled on this by pure chance, and I'm loving watching you play the game. Your editing and frankly good voice acting make it a pleasure to watch
I played OoT and MM for the first time ealier this year on switch, and they were my first experiences with any zelda game, and I fell in love with both of them. Theyre both so amazing in their own way. Although I probably prefer MM by a tiny margin, it's just more ambitious and offers more variety. The atmosphere is so dark on a first glance yet the characters and sidequests give it such a hopeful undertone. I love how the song if healing perfectly reflects the vibe this game has .Truly amazing what they did with this game. It was a true delight watching you play through it!
2:23:30 Noo he missed possibly the most intriguing line (in terms of lore at least) The whole game most players would assume this is some sort of parallel universe, completely disconnected from Hyrule. But this one sentence, at the very end of the game suddenly makes you question everything, and sparks one of the main questions about MM lore- is Termina real?
When you were trying to light the torch in the center of the wooden flower in Woodfall Temple, the difference between your failed attempts and your successful one is that your failed attempts had the arrow hitting the torch, while the successful shot had it pass right overtop and hit the base of the wooden flower afterward.
I really enjoy seeing people experience these games for the first time, seeing how someone works through the puzzles and clues. Well done on your playthrough! The characters and the sidequests make this one of my favorites in the series. A lot to love in this game!
53:44 the funny thing about this, this is the only time needing to bottle something makes sense. If link tries to carry the fish egg out of the water then it’ll die

Making this game my favorite game of all time! Regardless of having nightmares from it and honestly most of that was because I felt like skull kid was always stalking me down while exploring the town, thinking he's looking down at me from the clock tower like how the moon stares at you. I don't think I beat the game until I was 7 or 8. Still holds to this day of being my favorite game, I have a Majora's Mask tattoo on left arm (wanting to get more too). Fucking phenomenal game! I also had already beaten Ocarina of Time before ever playing this too when I was 5. And while I do agree that OoT is a better 'Zelda' game experience, I think MM has some of the best side quests and world development of any game. The mask transformations were so creative and changing the mechanics of the game and even the other masks all have a purpose. Even the 3 day cycle is something so different and revolutionary. I fucking love this game
Just found your channel when looking for majoras mask content, and I loved this video and your first reactions! I’m totally about to binge half of your videos while im studying for finals lmao. Edit: I just found out you also love Soulslike games, this is literally my ideal content!

Watching first playthroughs are my favorite way to consume the older titles now. I know all the things, so it’s really entertaining to watch someone struggle with not touching the control stick after bumping the center of double chests. And flounder with light and mirror puzzles. Just like I did. 😊
The reason you lost your stuff is because you get to save when you reset the time. If you neglect to play the song of time and let the moon fall there, is no save option so you lose your stuff you collected during that sequence.
I'll go ahead and Mention it now, To use the Other Deku Flowers, you're supposed to get the Previous Areas Title Deed and Give it to the Business Scrub in the Appropriate Form. Land and Normal to Swamp, Swamp and Deku to Mountain, ect.
The memories that flooded in when you played this game, oh how the times have changed and the story grows old. Life might end for this chapter but we can only move on to the next story, at least until we meet again.
I remember reading about this game as a kid in gaming magazines back when it wasn't even named yet and the west just called it "Zelda Gaiden". Needless to say, it became my favourite Zelda game and one of my favourite games of all time when I got my hands on it.
I think the official lore for this game is that Link ran away from Hyrule, and he ran so far away that the line between fantasy and reality got blurry, thus why there are such strange people and environments in this game.
I beat Majora's Mask the other day and i found a lot of it to be quite tedious, but I realized something: just like in red dead 2 there are things in the game that you DO want to do (such as exploring, fighting, and customizing) and then there are thing that you DON'T want to do. (such as cooking, traveling, and general maintenance) Now the things in Majora's Mask that you DON'T want to do aren't the same as in red dead 2, but the thing that both games have in common is that without the "unwanted" elements you wouldn't be able to enjoy the desirable elements as much. And I'm not trying to make the case that you can't have the good without the bad so much as I'm saying that the undesirable elements exist to compliment the desirable ones and make the payoff WAY BIGGER! (Imagine if you DIDN'T have to wait for Kafei to come back at the VERY LAST MINUTE/30!: You wouldn't have the same emotional impact without that time you wait there with Anju biting your nails, hoping that you did everything right and avoiding the urge to play the song of time!)
I have just recently started my Majora's mask playthrough. I am going to have to watch this later. I already know this will be a fantastic game and this will be a fantastic video to watch
My first experience with this game was when it came out and I still hadn't beat Ocarina of Time. It was so cool amd different and borrowed it time and time again from a friend, but nevet beat it untill 2008 when I moved out from my parents and got together with my ex. She owned the Mario Kart: Double Dash with Zelda promotion disk for the release of Wind Waker and I finally got to own Majoras Mask and beat it after so many years of not playing it. Awesome game and I enyoyed your playthrough!
Man I'm only just realizing how awesome it would've been for young link to work like pokemon trainer in smash, where he switches between the deku, goron, and zora masks for different movesets. Maybe even throw in a fierce deity final smash
I just noticed the guy named loser(not link) is the kid Darunia had. He named him the name that you had in the game. Or not. I play the games with the same name (Link) so yeah, it might just be because he named himself loser both times. But it might be REALLY obvious.
Some horrifying Majora's Mask lore that I wanted to share is that it's been confirmed that the reason Link screams when he puts on the transformation masks is because he feels all of the memories and trauma of the soul inside the masks entire life within the span of a few seconds. He takes a bunch of extreme psychological damage every time he puts on the masks.
Can't believe it took me so long to finish watching this. So, you fought the final boss in an interesting way, though I know it was because you didn't understand just how broken Fierce Deity Link really is. It probably would have helped if the Fierce Deity Sword from Breath of the Wild had sword beams like the Master Sword. Yeah, Fierce Deity Link shoots projectiles from his sword when locked onto an enemy. The best part? They pierce defenses, even otherwise impenetrable ones. Something worth noting is that the mask can only be used during boss battles. Also, sort of tying back to my previous comment from several days ago, another thing that's become something of a duty to players who get the Fierce Deity Mask is to fight the Final Boss twice. Once without using The Mask to experience the fight as it was intended, and again for the catharsis of a one-sided beatdown courtesy of the Fierce Deity. Since you did something of a frankenstein of the two, I'm not sure how you'd feel about following through with this tradition, as you'd have to fight the final boss twice more, but in case you intend to try sometime there are some things you should know. First, there are two Shooting Galleries in Termina. On in East Clock Town and the other at the end of a side path on the road between Termina Field and Southern Swamp. Each of these games has a quiver upgrade you can get. At maximum size Link can carry up to 50 arrows at once. This is the only point in this list not directly about the final boss itself, but it should mitigate the problem you ran into, namely running out of arrows, especially if combined with some of the later points. Second, there is a flower-like design on the center of the floor of the room you fight Majora in. That design functions as a Deku Flower insofar as using them to attack. You can't use it to fly, but Deku Link can burrow into them and launch himself out to attack like how you fought the turtles in Woodfall Temple. This can be used to stun Majora's Mask when it does its spinning attack low to the ground. Third, another way to stun Majora's Mask is to use Zora Link's boomerangs. This is how I've always fought the first form, because I interpreted Tatl's advise as talking about Gyorg. Fourth, if you use either the second or third point, be aware that if Deku Link or Zora Link are hit by Majora's heat ray, the 'void-out' equivalent that happens starts the battle over. Fifth, Majora's Mask heat ray you were running from can be reflected with the Mirror Shield. Reflecting it back at the boss deals damage, both piercing the otherwise impenetrable defense of the front and skipping right past stunning it. Sixth, Majora's Wrath dodges most projectiles. The only exceptions are Light Arrows and Fierce Deity Link's sword beams. Seventh, and this ties into the previous point, Majora's Wrath will not dodge arrows shot while the Light Arrow is equipped, even if you lack the magic to actually make them Light Arrows. It's probably a bug, not to mention it doesn't matter if you bring Chateau Romani into the fight, but I felt it worth mentioning anyway. Finally, there's an attack that Majora's Wrath can use that you didn't see. It's a case where the boss adds an attack to their arsenal when they're a few hits away from being beaten. Just be aware of this if you choose to fight the final boss without The Mask, as this attack can get chaotic really quickly if the fight drags on.
I'm not sure if someone in the comments or in chat said it already, but the one line of dialogue at the end of the game you accidentally skipped after Skull Kid sniffed Link was Skull Kid saying Link smelled like the fairy boy he met in the Lost Woods, implying that it's specifically the same Skull Kid you give the Skull Mask to in Ocarina Of Time.
I don't know for sure if he's playing emulated or not, but there was a remaster for the 3ds that is available to play on the switch, so it could also be that
Majoras Mask is my personal favorite Zelda game that i have played. I have only played the 3d games though. Is there a Zelda game i should try based on story alone? I havent played Twilight Princess yet aswell. I started as a teen but never finished the goron part.

Watching first playthroughs are my favorite way to consume the older titles now. I know all the things, so it’s really entertaining to watch someone struggle with not touching the control stick after bumping the center of double chests. And flounder with light and mirror puzzles. Just like I did. 😊
Congrats on hitting 100k I’m really happy for you🎉🎉🎉
2 hours of Justin Bae? I'm eating tonight!
Yeah buddy
The reason you lost your stuff is because you get to save when you reset the time. If you neglect to play the song of time and let the moon fall there, is no save option so you lose your stuff you collected during that sequence.
Glad to see you liked this game! Majora’s mask is my favorite game of all time, but it’s very hit or miss with people
Its so good 😁
I'll go ahead and Mention it now, To use the Other Deku Flowers, you're supposed to get the Previous Areas Title Deed and Give it to the Business Scrub in the Appropriate Form. Land and Normal to Swamp, Swamp and Deku to Mountain, ect.
Didn't know that, thanks!
Also, Just got to the Part after the Moon Crash, which reminded me. It only Restarts Progress to the Last Time SoT was Played.
Just got to the Goron Racetrack part, I'll mention this too. Rubber Banding. Yep, that's why it was Hard
Love the content man, earned yourself a sub! Can't wait for more :)
Appreciate it! More is on the way :)
I am so glad that you play some older zelda games
It'd be a shame not to
One of the best games ever.
6:09 Happy Mask Salesman: Boy Is This The Golden Age Simpsons CAUSE I'M ABOUT TO CHOKE A CHILD
I think the official lore for this game is that Link ran away from Hyrule, and he ran so far away that the line between fantasy and reality got blurry, thus why there are such strange people and environments in this game.
I think one of the Zelda books explained that the land of termina was created by Majora's mask as an illusion
Me watching Justin slash every bombchu he meets: Shield. Shield. Shield. SHIELD.
Yay! 🎉 can’t wait for the stone temple section. 😂
Ahahaha...
Loved the N64 vids, brother. Nicely done, and thanks for sharing!!
54:14 hahahaha!! I spit out my protein shake!!😂😂😂
Shield while using bomb mask :)
That was a fire video 10-10 sub earned first video in and i dont give so easily
51:05 They're fish, the joke writes itself
intimidating video length.
Worth the watch!
Glad you enjoyed! 45 hrs of footage crammed into 2.5 hrs was quite an undertaking 😅
Dude Stone Tower temple is such god tier level design.
I have just recently started my Majora's mask playthrough. I am going to have to watch this later. I already know this will be a fantastic game and this will be a fantastic video to watch
Enjoy! I had a great time with this game. Hope you do as well
I'm watching this entire play through while working on all my finals. Definitely helping me laugh through the pain. 😂
I feel that pain. Glad my video could help you in that pit of darkness known as finals.
Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching! This game truly is so different in the best way
I was dying at you forgetting the Elegy of Emptiness… I’ll let it slide since apparently wasn’t the day before lol
OoT and MM are just op games
His voice acting is top notch, gotta love the enthusiasm
HE FINALLY PLAYED IT YESSSS
Woooooo
Finna rewatch the OOT vid js to watch this
Do it, I dare you
Man I'm only just realizing how awesome it would've been for young link to work like pokemon trainer in smash, where he switches between the deku, goron, and zora masks for different movesets. Maybe even throw in a fierce deity final smash
Yoooo that would've been sick! At least we got the drinking milk taunt
cool video, i realy like your content, how did you run mm? what software?
I just noticed the guy named loser(not link) is the kid Darunia had. He named him the name that you had in the game. Or not. I play the games with the same name (Link) so yeah, it might just be because he named himself loser both times. But it might be REALLY obvious.
Some horrifying Majora's Mask lore that I wanted to share is that it's been confirmed that the reason Link screams when he puts on the transformation masks is because he feels all of the memories and trauma of the soul inside the masks entire life within the span of a few seconds. He takes a bunch of extreme psychological damage every time he puts on the masks.
2:15:00 You should totally count all of those falls like that as deaths in your Death Counter because technically they are “deaths”.
Bro, I love your voice acting
Majora mask is like my favorite even there's a creepy pasta that is ben drowned but... THE GAME IS EPIC
You are actually super funny man, was this done on stream?
37:24 he mentions me 😢 thank you to all my producers and friends for this life long Journey 😢😢😢
This looks so cleannnn 😮
I'm currently playing it on the switch too! It really grew on me and I love the game so much. How does yours look so clear and HD?!
Glad ur enjoying it! I am... ahem... emulating it and I have a HD texture pack applied which is why its so clean
finally after 8 years it’s finally here
Took so long, but it was worth
33:11 Eeminds me of Lynels.
Zora links voice is my spirit animal..
The voice acting is hilarioussssssssss
tbh I think this is my favorite Legend of Zelda game, the atmosphere and side quests are so interesting to playthrough!
It is up there for me. So hard to choose a favorite
is this emulated or a fan remaster ? it looks insanely good
I don't know for sure if he's playing emulated or not, but there was a remaster for the 3ds that is available to play on the switch, so it could also be that
Emulated on PC with an HD texture pack
Majoras Mask is my personal favorite Zelda game that i have played. I have only played the 3d games though.
Is there a Zelda game i should try based on story alone? I havent played Twilight Princess yet aswell. I started as a teen but never finished the goron part.
Nerrel’s pack is so amazing. I have seen soooo many n64 HD packs that just completely destroy the art style and feel. Nerrel’s is perfect in my opinion
It pains me to see someone not understand how the fierce deity mask works but this is overall an amazing video
Tp next? Hell yes. I'm new to your stuff. What about wind waker? Already play it, or not into it, or something?
16:57 I was singing along with the music. 😅
You missed the best part of the game! Racing the beavers for another glass bottle. You would absolutely hate it!
Yeah I definitely missed something cause I have no idea what ur talking about LOL
@@JustinBae The beavers at the top of the waterfall at the beach. You hookshot your way up the palmtrees on the sides. The beavers place is really cool, you should definitly check it out! Allthough racing the beavers is very hard if dont have total control of ZoraLink in the water. It's a long racetrack and you have to swim through rings and beat both beaver brothers for a bottle. And do it again for a heartpiece.
I had a similar experience with the goron moon trial
Hi I’m here after 21 seconds and I really love ur content it can be funny and fun at the same time thanks for being such an entertaining creator😊
Thanks for the kind words!
