AMEN GIRLFRIEND!!! My late husband always told me he wished he saw the world like I did… that I see it in color…sunsets, the barn in a field against the storm clouds, patinas on old buildings and furniture, etc… I love, love watching you for your techniques and amazing artistic talent!!! Watched the bench painting and once again learned so much!! Thank you for these 10 minute talks and for sharing your incites both artistically and your business acumen!!❤❤❤
Thank you Crys Dawna!! Those are great tips. I just learned that lesson the hard way. I was trying to use a color scheme from brushed by Brandi and now that it's done I kick myself for not using colors in my home. Life is a journey. I am so happy to have you back in the game. I love your videos. Keep your head up. You are appreciated and admired by so many!
Yes totally agree, the more outside the box the better the outcome! It forces creativity because you have to figure out your own path. Great topic thanks for sharing ❤
I can’t tell you much inspiration I got from this video. Even your backdrop inspired me. The small cabinet under the white trimmed window, the rustic lamp, the white flowers, the blue walls that look like the sky….. ❤️ It also inspired me to talk to my husband about how some people need inspiration to feel alive. Thank you.
One of the best bits of advice I ever heard was 'Inspiration can come from anywhere!' and that is so true. I recently did a large wall piece inspired by a church dome in a nearby town -- copper detailing on a dark silver-grey base. The town itself is pretty drab but it was a sunny day and the colors just made me so happy, I knew I had to try it! I'm always looking for new colors and combinations to try. It doesn't always work, but sometimes it turns out better than I thought it would.
Gemstones, Turquoise in particular and not just the color turquoise, but the different inclusions in the stones and the shades and tones of all the colors of the Turquoise stones. Ore is another. I love the crusty look of ore and rocks, all the layers and how the colors change when you get them wet. Bauxite is Gorgeous if you love warm colors and rainbow pyrite and celestite are both stunning. When I'm outside, for a hike or traveling, and I see the different layers of the Earth in an embankment or a carpet of green moss dripping down a rock, these are some of the ways I am inspired.
One of my inspirations is museums. I look at furniture as well as paintings/frames, clothes and all the other trinkets that are there, like hair pins, vases, tiles even book covers. I saw a beautiful red shirt with gorgeous blue green flowers, very bright and unique.
Those are awesome tips. There are some things I do well, and some not. At first I was hard on myself, but now I say if I hadn't tried I wouldn't know. ❤
You are inspiring. Thanks for sharing your fabulous ideas! You're not just inspiring in your amazing artistic endeavors, but also as an amazing human being! Thanks for bring you.💖☺️💖
SOOOOOOOO I won't say it BUT I WILL write it- girl you shorted us by 4.44 🤣🤣 I remember back in the day (2 or 3 years ago) you talked about inspiration. The blue/green plaid shirt you wore and did a process that you recreated it on a piece, it was OUTSTANDING! Another memory: I learned about patina from you and while waiting to be let into work, looking around, found some great patina on a building and said ohhhh that's nice, and realized it was moss. LOL... it was truly the beginning of thinking outside the box. Have a wonderful week!
hi Crys'Dawna thank you so much. I really needed this talk... I was looking for an inspiration for a pair of nightstands from last 4 or 5 days on RUclips and Pinterest. now this tip gave me an idea to look other things than Furnitures. thanks again, I hope I'll find the inspiration now.
Loved this!! I want inspiration and no copy!! I’m a garden girl from hanging beans to sweat peas to hanging wondering jew to creeping Jenny!! Nature has it to bright moon shine (not the drink) to dewy mornings on flowers!! Hadn’t even thought about dresses!?! I am into steam punk & all old rusty things and art nouveau& some Art Deco. Eclectic!! For sure. Love All Colors and shading. Looking at my 6 drawer dresser with TV on it and wood knobs! Ugh
I agree with all of this, I get a lot of inspiration from nature. That being said, I feel jipped because your 10 minute Tuesday was only 5 minutes lol 😢😂❤
Hey Crys'Dawna, I keep saying it, thank you for all your info❤. I have a question, wen you lived in Germany, what was your go to shop (online) for getting chalk paint and all the waxes and decopage paper? I live in Europe and find it difficult to find everything that I would like to buy, I heard that getting all this stuff from America to Europe, is really expensive. I have ordered some things from different countries surrounding mine, but getting everything especially waxes in different colors and good decopage papers are very difficult to come by, they don't have them in stores here😔. Loved your last 2 clips about the bench 😍 so creative again❤
