While my daughter was in a coma, I played this song for her everyday and I know she felt the love I have for her. This song packs a lot of emotion. This is such a beautiful song
So profound. Losing any loved one is hard and this song is a beautiful portrayal of that feeling. Jimmy Page has said this song made him uncomfortable because it wasn't what Zeppelin was about, but understood how much it meant to Robert Plant, and never said a word about his opposition to the song. I'm glad he didn't. It's one of the reasons that makes Zeppelin the greatest rock band of all time.
Despite that Page is a genius with a guitar, I doubt he has a heart for anything else and his statement confirmed my idea about the cold blooded genius.
Today was my uncles funeral. He died from a short battle with cancer, just being diagnosed in June. He wanted this played at the end of his funeral mass❤️❤️ we obviously didn’t do that but we played this as we buried him. This was his final message to us. All of my love! We will miss you uncle mark!! All of my love to you!!!
I'm very sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad in January, he was a HUGE LZ fan. So im sure your Uncle Mark was cool as hell, like my Dad If he wanted this played. RIP to my Dad and your Uncle Mark and everyone else that lost a loved one.
It's a hard prospect to understand that something so beautiful is born from such a tragic reason. From the first time I ever heard this song I was awe struck by how amazing every aspect of the song is....then you find out the origin from which it was conceived and your heart breaks every time you hear it.
This is poetry! Complete and the purest of poetry! They are not musicians, they are poets of their instruments! Total artits, I just can not believe the level of magic and... everything Led Zeppelin achieved, seriously.
I must have heard this song a million times when I was a kid, and just thought it was some Jagger-esque ode to some groupie. Now that I've learned that Plant wrote it after his 5-year old son passed, it's literally more heartbreaking every time I listen. Do we have to fall out of love in order to move on from such grief? The keyboard solo invokes the happy footsteps of a 5 year old, transitioning into ascension. Plant changes key in the last stanza - he has accepted that his son is gone like a feather in the wind, and he is just trying to hold onto his love. The song fades in the end, but the loneliness does not.
Also it is trying to accept loving the new baby Logan in his grief. Plant has said in interviews that he couldn't see them as 2 individuals. The line is it the end or did it just begin?? The cup is raised the toast is made again. Was about Logans birth and congratulations but he is not forgetting it happened before. Really heart breaking once you understand the lyrics

Along with teaching about impermanence, Buddhism also teaches about continuity, like how things continue over time....like how happiness leads to happiness, how we are conscious today because we were conscious yesterday, and how you wake up on the same side of the bed you went to sleep on...a cup is where you put it and you live with the consequences of your actions....unlike in a dream or video game where there really isn't any continuity. Anyway, they use the word thread. The song "That's the Way" reminds me of Buddhist teachings about impermanence but I think of this song, All of my Love, when the teacher in the videos mentions "thread". The song is beautiful, and when Buddhists speak of impermanence and suffereing, it is in a sympathetic way... it is not in a technical Western science way that minimizes the harshness of life...they teach that life contains suffering and they acknowledge it, very heartfelt...just sharing. . I'm new to reading about Buddhism, but they have something called Dharma art. Dharma is the teachings of Buddha.... for the most part, I think it is art that expresses the spirit of the dharma. Actually, there is an excellent Dharma art talk series by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche online (CTR founded Naropa after escaping communist china across the himalaya mountains and then attending oxford..)
Beautiful and haunting song. One of my top six ballads. This song is an elegy for his little boy, and he interweaves references to mythology to speak of death, so it’s a meaningful song. A notch above the usual rock ballad. I like the sad, mournful tone to his voice. No one can replace RP.

Jeanne Veve sings to your soul with fire and a shot of tequila on the side
Yes indeed!
Real music and real meaning!
There is nothing more painful than losing a child. My son died 5 years ago at 33. Life will never be the same.
After all these years, it's been a minute sice i read the lyrics, and I am finally sort of finding some sense of meaning of his poetry, it's sort of mystic, enchanting, puzzling
My mother told me that she loves this song very much! She was 24 yrs.old when she heard this song, now she is 58 and very much like this song!

This song is about the weaver's thread and the loom.
A temple song which carries on and on. Beautiful creation 💞🌹💞
he actually wrote this for his son that died as a child
That's the story he gives to the uninitiated.
love this song & think it's beautiful that he made this for his son.
Pure, mesmerising poetry...
I got my best friend’s (my dog Bella’s actual paw print) in watercolors tattooed on my arm with “All of my love” around it, with music notes. She’s still here but it sums up with what she means to me perfectly. Beautiful song. 👍
One of the classics I love and can't help to sing along I've always been a Zeppelin nut
classic...never get sick of this song.
Beautiful song good Armony excellent melody from the holy Spirit to the HARD Rock end Roll 😌 Jose Pablo 😎
Que gran artista, pero como hace para cantar esta canción y no derrumbarse , si uno llora con cantarla.
One of my favorite songs still listening in 2020
I dedicate this song to my brother, Charlton. He will be forever 45. I thank God for the time I had with him. All of my love,my brother ❣️😭
To many years (a decade +) of giving All of My Love to a man who chose not to change till " the tides have caused the flame to dim".....i love this song even tho it hurts me. This song not only touches my heart but speaks for my empty lonely soul. ❤💔❤💔❤💔💔💔
Absolutely beautiful beautiful song....
Es un Dios griego. un señor de la cancion, cuando vocaliza esta cancion hay que quitarse el sonbrero.Magnifico arreglo musical uniendo lo clasico, con lo moderno.😄😄👌👌👍👍😄💥
Robert you are simply amazing
Growing up with this song...when things were sane!
Beautiful ! I wish my friend who lost a child would listen 👂. They might feel better ❤️🩹
Nothing will make them feel better not even time . When you lose a child you lose your future.
led zeppelin
favorite band
This song is not about Satan! It's about Rob's son, Karac!
it sounds to me that a romance went afoul. but o.k
Yes ur so right!!!...how awful to say its about Satan whoever said that is musically not into tune with Led Zep....READ AND KNOW UR MUSIC...he speaks from his heart about his loss. This song is BEAUTIFUL!!!! My heart goes out to him, how sad and awful to have gone thru wat he went thru..the pain. I love this song!!!
That's what I think of, a romance that went bad.
yeah it seems obvious a wife or a child
it's about his son, Krac died very young :(
This is a song just listen to it and forget about everything. Don't judge anybody period. ;-)
I just now realized this song is about his hidden passion for another man crazy it took me so long to understand i had to read the lyrics thank you friend.
No dipshit it's a tribute to his dead son show some fucking respect
35years now, this is my all time favourite led Zeppelin number.
Love this song! Love that synth/organ solo! "House of the Rising Sun" has a great synth/organ solo too.
one of my favorite songs and bands beautiful
I always have love led Zeppelin RoB is a amazing person I did not know this was about her son the most overwhelmed feeling any body could experience I remember how sad it was when my sister lost her baby a father and mother's pain is something that you don't forget easy but life goes on and our love ones need us too
When the death of a friend shatters the hearts left behind I like to think these lyrics come from above
No offense but they came from two human beings, one in unimaginable pain. Not God. God is responsible only in that he gave a 5 year old a stomach virus that caused his death. What is a father to do? The only thing is to maybe write about it to heal.
