The best place, I'd guess, would be to go to Kernave - there you would see a lot traditions back from pagan times. and a lot of traditional music (similar to this one maybe..) ;)

maybe not the oldest one, but i just googled some historical pages and many of them say that lithuanian is one of the oldest languages that have almost not changed, and the beggining of it starts around 2000 BC, so if you know how to count its about 4000 years old, isnt that enough?
And I suggest you to visit our seaside:) It is definately worth it to see our unique sand dunes and to go to Nida, Juodkrante or Klaipeda. Curonian Split is one of my favourite places in Lithuania ;)

i thought and told to people this kind a stuff too, but i tried to find an answer..so.. what you said about conservatism("...that have almost not changed"), i agree, because opinion about in the area is mostly similar.. but talking about age is at least risky, because there is a lot of opinions, discussions and it is so different so often..of course, it would be great to have oldest language, but there are lots of doubt. well, at least we have the most coservative language, that for sure:)
sometimes a person, who doesn't learn Lithuanian language, speaks better and more fluent, then that person, who is not Lithuanian, but lives here for maybe 10years and trys to learn it. Great job girl. ;*
