I miss her lethal returns of serves. You mentioned the one against Graf in 94, but I also remember the one against Safina at the Kremlin Cup in 2005, it was breathtaking
You had to have nerves of steel to be a Mary fan because she could be frustratingly wayward one minute and then unbeatable the next. Still 2 Grand Slams in singles to her name so always a champion and I will never ever ever forget her demolition of Steffi Graf in the 1994 French Open semi-final. Perhaps up there as one of the single greatest performances in the Open era. Virtual perfection that day.

Being a mild tennis fan, I certainly enjoyed Mary's tennis. I was extremely fortunate to meet her up close at a Virginia Slims Tournament in the San Francisco Bay Area, I guess around the early 90s.
