Can't understand why so many people "hate" her

Because the internet is full of pathetic manchildren who thought it was ok to hate on a fun-loving, well-articulated and talkative 13 y/o. They couldn't bear seeing her so energetic on talk-shows and interviews and called her annoying and rude, when her happy attitude was the best thing a 13 y/o could have.
Then two years ago twitter trolls decided it'd be funny to start a "#TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown" meme in which they spread fake stories about her being a horrible and homophobic person. They edited fake quotes on her pictures about her hating gay people and saying generally rude things and her haters made it blow up.
You can clearly tell how much it affected her (especially at the time) and how she tends to be more reserved, anyone would do the same as a defense mechanism from unwarranted hate. Luckily her parents/surroundings seem to have done a good job at protecting her from all the bullying as she's remained just as smart and well-spoken.

It's not why people are bullying Milli. Why are there so many unhappy people? There's absolutely nothing wrong with Milli. From one empath to another - I can totally see her genuine heart.
We feel so much sometimes we can't contain all those emotions. That's why we have so much anxiety and depression. I was that kid who would sit in the corner and draw. Observe the world around me. I was that kid with so much love for all creatures and animals. I collected bugs and always had dogs. Or that occasional baby bird that would fall from the tree. Ha!
We just want to love and be kind. Then you have the people that are the exact opposite. They love to hurt and hate. There will always be those people. We just have to stay true to who we are and keep spreading love and kindness.

I just came across this interview and really adore Millie, she's so amazing and talented!
But I'm not sure if it's just me or not but when she was asked about game of thrones, did she just give a quick answer because she doesn't want to talk about it? Or just cause she wanted to give a quick answer. In any case I'm glad she's in Stranger Things, she's perfect for it!
Always comes across to me as a relatively down to earth, mature young woman. Why do people hate her though? Unfortunately it all boils down to one thing. Jealousy. People don’t like other people making successes of themselves. Whether it be sportsmen/women who build themselves up through talent, hard work & dedication from poor backgrounds to superstardom & riches beyond belief to a 15 year old actress who just continues to beggar belief with her ability at such an age!
