We've had ours for 6 years, and its never missed a beat !!! (even surviving one incident of my knocking it over during the night while on an excursion to the bathroom). Its made SUCH a difference to our house. I look at the bad reviews on amazon saying "cheaply made" and "cheap plastic" and can't reconcile it to the unit thats kept our house in super condition for 6 years with no fuss.
I'm not saying its the case with yourself, and yes a tiny percentage will have some manufacturing error that has slipped through QC, but I can only believe that the majority of those reviews are clueless mouthbreathers who expect a unit designed for use in combat conditions, and are surprised that it develops problems after "little Jimmy" has practiced his kung fu on it for 2 hours.

I have a 4 year old Meaco Zambezi dehumidifier that has developed a C1 overheat error. It's being caused by the failure of the regen motor which has a thermal fuse attached. Unlike your experience with EcoAir my dealings with Meaco have been awful. They refused to look at my machine because I had opened it up to clean it and I cannot them to answer whether they will sell any parts. I've found the thermal fuses and ordered some (but why did it blow?) so hopefully I've ordered a compatible motor (YJ48/200) in case the thermal fuse blowing was a winding defect. I've just bought an EcoAir because of the difficulty in dealing with Meaco. They all look very similar inside and I think they are all made by Youlong in China.

Great video and thank you for sharing👍🏻
I own an "EcoAir DD1 Classic MK6" dehumidifier, and recently it has begun leaking water onto the floor instead of collecting it in the water container. Despite this issue, the dehumidifier continues to operate effectively. Do you have any insights into what might be causing this problem, and could you provide guidance on how to resolve it?
    Thanks again.🙏🏼

Got the same problem with a MK4. My guess is the heaters probably bust. I might crack it open at some point.

The heaters are switched via relays. The relays can fail.I always use a power meter to check load when working. On full power about 620w on eco about 320w.If the thermal fuses have been activated then there will be no power going to the machine.

Mine's been great for 6+ years but now not drawing water and heater element isn't getting hot. I've taken it apart, replaced the thermal fuse and the heater got red hot. Put it back together, no heat again! There's also a tiny thermal cut out switch, wonder if that could be faulty. All in all, a right pain to fix and still none the wiser 😢

Test continuity of the thermal fuse its probably blown and swap it out, Its most common had to change two on heaters since november, Only a couple of quid, you can short it out to check it also

    • @RSPYT

Do you know where it is?

    • @Superfandangoo

@@RSPYT It'll be near the heater elements looks like a through hole resistor but silver. The heater supply will go to it. It may have a white sleeve over it

I have similar problem - no heat. Saw a break in heater wire. Temporarily bridged expecting heat but nothing. Probed the 3 wires to back of heater but next to do power draw. Assumed it was the thermal fuse but tested and OK. Any other ideas? There's another component which sits next to fuse on rear or heater housing. Looks like a resistor. Do you know what this is?

Think I've sorted it. Heater is forced on only during laundry mode. It got hot and I measure 100w per element. Ordered element replacement for £33. Exactly what happened in 'dry' mode I don't know.

Does anyone know how to clean the air inlet and outlet valves to stop the machine cutting out? 🤞 (we’ve got it open and can’t find where to clean) Thank you.

Mine's the same as that DD1 Simple model which was down on the floor in the video. It's still collecting water very well, but has just started to overflow the water tank. It fills to the top and the machine does not shut down so ends up in a puddle of water if I don't keep an eye on it. I've noticed that the machine keeps running for a bit even if I pull out the tank whilst it's running, too, which never used to happen. The shut-off works my means of a rocker in the tank with a float at one end and a magnet at the other. When the water makes the float rise, the magnet is pulled away from a reed switch located inside the main body of the machine. I think there's something wrong with the reed switch - maybe the reeds have become magnetised over time and stick together even when the magnet's moved away. Anyone else had that problem?

ours have the same problem, not collecting water anymore. about 4-5 years old and we used constantly.
Used to collect 2 litres of water as normal, but last few months was strange: collected 2 litres in a week!
Afterwards got more strange: collected 250ml water and stopped.
Moved around a bit, wiped out, and work again for a day, and collect only 2-300ml water and stops.
I put an other dehumidifier (same model) and that collects 2 liters a day.
What could be the problem, what part do I need to order?

You’ll have to take it apart to find out what’s gone wrong as it could be a few things causing it.
