You have inspired me, I was afraid that I would not be able to follow in my Grandfathers foot steps as a Master Carpenter that emigrated to the USA from Sweden in the 1930's so i chose another career path. I never met him. He passed 8 years before I was born. Now when I work with wood I think of him.
I haven't known my grandfathers either. I have only seen my father's father in the picture and not my mother's father at all. Too bad. Being with grandchildren right now compensates for this shortcoming a bit.
Same here. Never met either of my grandfathers. And my late father never met his real father, either. My father was born in Latvia, 1942. His father left to fight in the war. I am grateful to have known my father, though. He was an excellent man, and he was the best grandfather to my children. I hope I can be as great to my future grandchildren and with blessing, great grandchildren.
