I have this boom arm. I use Fifine mics and all of them are light enough that I have no issues with weight. I really like this boom arm even though I’d like one a little longer arm that I could mount toward the back of my desk. Still an awesome boom arm for $50!
For 50$ and sometimes less this boom arm is awesome! The tension I realized is not as bad it’s the Allen wrench that strips and makes it hard to tighten further for heavier microphones. I agree a little longer for some desk would be great!
Having trouble finding a low-profile mic boom that can accommodate my 5/8" thick, extra shielded XLR cables. Surely there are products that can meet this rather elementary requirement! Most low-profile boom with "cable management" seem to only work for regular XLR (or other) cables that are NOT as thick as the ones I use. Life is too short to waste on issues that could be avoided.
@@MegaJJ2013 the only ones I know to have the largest cable routing are the Elgato, I-xtech, or the moano. if either of those don't fit there probably isn't an option out there.
That is weird what mic do you have? This boom arm still supports the sm7b to this day and hasn’t lost tension that I’ve noticed. Maybe you got a bad one?
@@Yiro. probably was faulty. As of right now, it's undetermined on what I want. However, I am looking at the elgato boom arms or rode boom arms. Your review was great, just sucks that the product didn't perform.
@@fr_G80 Ya, it sounds like it. Those brands are good. Check out I-xtech they got a good boom arm I like as well. Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. But, ya that’s a bummer. Hope you find a one you like.
Ya, I still use this boom arm for my shure sm7b and it’s about 1.69lbs just tighten it with your own Allen wrench because the included one is pretty bad
With Elgato, apparently the cover only pops off if they are too short. Mine arrives today, so I'll see. Amazon doesn't give the Fifine a very good review and I'd rather the cover pop off (or just buy a longer cable) than the arm sag because the microphone is too heavy.
Ya I noticed I didn’t have mine tightened all the way, but the Shure sm7b is a heavy mic it’s about two pounds. I didn’t want to have any hassle with the cover popping off. Hope you enjoy your elgato!
And that’s so weird the fifine on Amazon has great reviews for me , one said it had a bit hard time holding up a nuemanns but that again is another very heavy mic like 2 pounds most consumer mics are not that heavy
@@Yiro. interesting. I definitely don’t have issues with the cover popping off, but there are some things about it I’m not a fan off. Might order the Fifine just to compare the two. 👍🏽
@@Yiro. Yeah, white would be nice. I tried getting hold of a Fifine, they're not available, even from the manufacturers. The Elgato is okay though. Not gonna say it's fantastic because compared to some of the PS1 features, it's subpar. It gets that big boom arm out of the way though and that's what I wanted.

@@MegaJJ2013 what part of the xlr cable are you having trouble with? The cable or the female end?
@@Yiro. The cable itself is thick as I mentioned.

THIS IS A VERY GOOD REVIEW. PLEASE DON'T STOP PLEASE KEEP DOING THIS. YOU WILL GAIN TRACTION VERY SOON. I WISH YOU WELLL!!!
Thank you very much I really appreciate that! I’m glad you found it helpful!
Appreciate the review! The Fifine seemed like a great alternative for the money, but couldn't find anyone who compared the two.
Ya no problem ! Glad you enjoyed it, that’s why I made the review too I couldn’t find anyone who was talking about it
Great info quick and to the point. Thanks!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
*Thanks for the great informative review👍👍👍👍*
Thanks!
The fifine boom arm couldn't support my mic no matter how tight I tightened, weird cause it supports your shure mic.

@@Yiro. I got a fduce sl40, its popular. I returned the product but maybe my mic is just too heavy
@@fr_G80 very weird. ya maybe you got a faulty one. this boom arm still holds my Shure and hasn't sagged to date. what did you end up picking?

Is there anyway u could make a more in depth tutorial on how to set it up with the mic. I’m having trouble setting mine up to get my mic on it
ya i might be able to, first off tho what kind of mic do u have?
beautifully said
Thank you I appreciate it
Whats with your audio? Goes to loud and bearly hearable
Had some audio difficulties. Hopefully i finally got it all ironed out! thanks for watching 👍
i suppose fifine is too much implemented in america, shipping make it super pricey (all products) in europe
Ya fifine doesn’t seem to be worth it in Europe at all.
@yirothehero Think this’ll hold up a rode procaster just fine? 1.5lb microphone

which is better for its value? the fifine or the elgato wave lp?
Honestly, i would have to say the Fifine.
@@Yiro. Appreciated, I would buy the fifine now.
@@kimset7876 ya no problem, hope you enjoy it!
Actually cost more than 80€(75$) in European amazon..
Damn, that sucks. for the price in the US its a steal!
the basic am8 mic is also 80 bucks...@@Yiro.
@@T.O.X.I.C.5597 damn thats pretty much double the price

This boom arm is $140 on Canada's Amazon 😆😂
Really I just check Canadian Amazon it’s like 76 Canadian. Very weird how they are showing very different prices.
