Its so crazy how good ive gotten at guitar in almost two years now of daily guitar practicing. If it wasnt for this channel i would most likely be only half as good as i am now. Marty fast tracked me into having fun right away. I never would've imagined that I'd fluently know so much music theory as well as be able to learn songs by ear. Even last year at this time i was just getting down what it meant to be in a certain key and how intervals worked, few months before that i was learning barre chords and the minor pentatonic shape. Now i can do crazy metal solos, intricate finger style songs, write original stuff, and ive even adventured into playing banjo and dulcimer. Thanks Marty! Hope you do this until youre old and wrinkled for the next generation of players.
I hear a lot of talking but no videos. Don't get me wrong I love that you have gotten great in 2 years as I just started my journey. If you uploaded a few videos I think it will be inspiring
I love how Marty when he plays the song in the beginning seems to genuinely love playing the song. It’s awesome and gets me excited for the video. Love the energy Marty, thanks for the awesome videos.
Hey Marty , can you please start a series where you show us how to get iconic guitar tones with just the controls on a strat and an amp ?????????????? Tones such as Jimi Hendrix’s , it Stevie Ray Vaughan’s , just general 70s-80s rock guitar tones , Eddie Van Halen’s guitar tones , I’m sure that the series would be really helpful to a lot of people wanting to nail those exact guitar tones of their guitar gods . Any takers ??????????????
Ι've watched like 50,000 videos. I don't have much time to practice, so I need something to the point, interesting, tasty, and broken down enough but not to the point of absolute boredom. Man you check all the boxes. I'm grateful. I'm in my 50s now and learning more than I've ever learned. Heartfelt cheers.
Tell you what Marty. Of all the video intros that I have watched you do,. This is by far the best; why everyone is asking? Because you looked like you were having the best time in your life. I loved it.
Great lesson Marty. Hope you do more of the little solo lessons they add a level a fun and learning for when the song is a little easy for experienced players.
Really COOL song that I've never noticed before! You are right about figuring out melodies is vitality important to musicianship! I know players that only play rhythm, and think their hot stuff, they never get close to what they could be! I'm one to talk, after 56 years of playing I pick the guitar up once a week and that's it, but it has been important in my life in the past!
Enjoy your talents immensely...however my two personal requests would be two things...they are: when you introduce a new song for learning that (because you sound awesome) that you play the whole song in it's entirety prior to teaching it. Secondly It would be great (as one of your fans) if you produced a CD of your favorite cover songs and or music your own music in general so we could pop the CD in and listen to YOUR AWESOMENESS... put me on your list to purchase if you do. ROCK ON BROTHER.....YOU ARE A GREAT INSPIRATION...from a fan of many years now. Thank you MR. Music man......
Shout out to you Marty you have really helped me in your guitar lessons. I can join a band and feel very comfortable. Maybe jam with you one day thanks man you deserve a hat's off.
I do that too, singing the notes as we switch to them. When making up stuff or just playing like this I'll sometime just use a word that starts with the letter appropriate for the chord.
Hi Marty, awesome lesson, awesome song and tasty playing. Never thought to play it on guitar. Great example of needing to be able to hear the melody in your head.
Some slow power chord songs would be awsome Marty! Something like Come Undone by DuranDuran. Slow and easy. Thanks for everything Marty. Love from Serbia !
I’ve been waiting ......for Marty ..to do this tune . ....All my guitar life 🤣😂🎸👍🏻 you sound amazing there Marty - pukka cover 😎🤘🏻keep up the amazing work
