It's sad how society wants a woman to put up with the worst things just because a man is "rich" and "handsome". He doesn't start "caring" about her (cause, honestly, he still doesn't care, she's just a toy he wasn't finished using yet) until she says she's breaking up with him. He's one of those power hungry people that thinks they are the ONLY one who gets to dictate the relationship, say what terms it's on, and decide when (and how) it's over. "I'll announce our relationship after this project." How many times has he told her that before? Why didn't you announce our relationship as soon as we HAD a relationship, if you really love me? "I'll tell my family I don't want this marriage!" Why didn't you tell you family AS SOON AS THEY PROPOSED THIS MARRIAGE? Why are you still meeting with the other girl's parents and planning things together? If you really loved the one you're "in a relationship" with, you would NEVER play house with someone else because you KNOW it's hurtful. Look at how you behaved when she was with the other guy AFTER she said she's breaking up with you! "I didn't know this was happening in your family." Why not? I'm 100% sure she showed signs of stress, unhappiness, and anger after dealing with those people for so long. Didn't you ever ask her what's wrong? Didn't you ever discuss your future and your past? Of course not, it was a purely physical relationship, like she said.
There are things people can do to hurt you besides physically beating you. Yes, he chased her and offered her his money and houses after she threatened to take away his toy, but he didn't love her. He thought she was materialistic and would be happy to stay with him as long as he gave her financial benefits. You're telling me that that's all he thought of her, but he TRULY "loved" and "cared" about her? Sure she took the money, since he was offering. I would have, too. Pay me for the time I suffered in a one-sided relationship and then get gone! The only thing I didn't like is that she allowed him to gaslight her into thinking that he really WAS coming from a place of love, not habit. 😢

Yes, why would FL let him accompany her later? He is just bound to interfere with her education and personal growth. The ML is shitty guy as @JessicaBiggers mentionedm. As for ML's mother, from what I know of the Chinese women they don't't opt for having such toxic MIL if they have better options in life. Even if the MIL accepts her in the moment, she'll always feel entitled to interfere in the leads' lives

This is honestly the most tedious drama I've watched in a while.
Every time her family barks she runs......knowing that they don't have her interested heart.
She made a big kerfuffle about leaving this dude.....and then proceeded to stick with him.
She have all this angst about her father being in jail which doesn't add to the storyline in any way.
She obviously has low self-esteem and that becomes extremely monotonous.
Like it started out really good when she rebelled against everyone and everything because she thought she was going to die.....so the first, I would say maybe 40 minutes of the show it was awesome...... and then it all went to crap.
I've spent most of the show just hitting fast forward and just pushing the little bar forward....😅
The FLs in Chinese short dramas and even in mainstream dramas only show patches of brilliance, for the sheer shock value

She loves him, but he, on the other hand, has a lot of burdens and high pride to announce their relationship. I think he also loves her, but he didn't realize it soon enough. 3 long bloody years, you are a gf of someone but need to be in the shadow, seeing him got engaged to another girl. Even he tried to explain it to her several times, but he didn't do it good enough, for me it's still a rubbish. I mean, 3 years!! Such a selfish ML, he was only wanting to keep her by his side but couldn't give her the title and secured feeling that she deserved. He also didn't do well enough to protect her from getting harassed. Not until he found out she was diagnosed with terminal illness, then he started to realize his mistakes. It was only at this time as well then he started to know and check her family background. So, what's he done along those 3 years, just taking her as a bedmate,? It was so frustrating that the FL forgave him so easily like that. If I were her, I would leave him without looking back, or at least gave a longer period of time to torment him 😅

I actually feel so sorry for this guy because from the beginning of this movie till the end, all he was doing is begging this woman to be with him like on his knees, take my money, take my life just be with me. It’s giving his love was to infinity and beyond. And she was actually so hateful because first it was I’m sick.Then it was I can’t be with you I’m not worthy to be with you, I’m an orphan or my dad is a murderer, he’s been in jail whatever. Then it’s like oh let’s just end this chapter. I don’t wanna be with him again. It’s been so dramatic. The thing for me is if you had been firm in your decision to be with this man I’m telling you him alone would have fought a war with 10,000 people to be with you And it’s so sad that she doesn’t get that. It’s actually quite unfortunate.
