    Prices at landers are generally not cheap especially for US brands or european brands. I only go there if i really wanted something, otherwise i go to other local supermarket like puregold or nearby groceries. Prices there are 5-10% cheaper. Gas prices at landers is also no longer as cheap as we think. Sure they give discounts for members but if you look at their posted prices and less discount, its still more expensive than many gas station elsewhere. For veggies, fruits, herbs, nothing still beat divisoria in manila or balintawak market in qc. Veggies are cheaper by 100-200%. Go to arranque market in chinatown if you crave for hi quality produce from australia or south america, herbs and spices from india, vietnam, china, thailand and malaysia. That is where restaurants get their supplies. Prices are also cheaper by 100% than in rustans. But of course its an open market so its humid. Fresh peaches is also available there when there in season same with cherries etc

    Compared to here in Canada, I feel that the Philippines is cheaper for grocery shopping. My family shops at mainly 3 stores, one being Costco and we could spend $100 at once on less than 10 things at any of the stores. My family doesn't shop for a month because it would cost over $1000 because the meat is expensive and most produce is imported and a small portion is local but either isn't cheap unless it's on sale for a good price. We only go to the store once a week or for a few items.
    I plan to visit the Philippines hopefully sometime in the near future, I have some relatives there and maybe I'll get to try Filipino food.

      Hi Celina. Meat, pork, chicken, and even fish are expensive here for local people. You really have to buy direct from fishermen to get the best deal. I was able to buy octopus for roughly USD$0.50/lb and lobster for USD$8/lb but they were in the provinces. I’d like to have a small garden for growing veggies to help offset some of the cost.
      The Philippines is nice which is why I dont plan on returning to the USA and just retire here, lol. Visit soon! You’ll have a blast.

    Is grocery cheaper there in the Philippines?

    • @everydaywithana
      @everydaywithana  Год назад

      Hi Adassawinters9711. I believe it’s subjective. The average Filipino would say it’s not cheap. Expats and high income earning Filipinos would say in general, groceries in the Ph are more affordable especially in the countryside for fruits and veggies and near the ocean for seafood.
