30-Day YouTube Monetization Challenge: Does It Really Work?

- Is it realistic to think that you can get monetized in under 30 days as a new youtube that so many people are posting on their channels right now? I must admit I am a bit skeptical but more curious than not. So let's see. Can I do it? And if I can...guess what why not you! Follow my journey to see if I can get there by doing minimal editing, speaking from the heart, and showing up raw!

Oh yes, you’re absolutely right that the RUclips algorithm found me or brought you to me and yes, I appreciate your very straightforward dialogue without any buttons or flashes or subscribe here or what I consider almost me first kind of approaches to RUclips. I mean, maybe maybe this kind of unabashed solicitation works, but it works against me. Now I’ve been doing RUclips for who knows 15 years just putting things up there that I consider private for my family but this month I started thinking in terms of doing kind of a podcast about my experiences. Now that my wife has passed away and I was calling my Blog Suddenly Single and then just kind of talking into the camera about various experiences of dealing with the loss… but then someone discovered me and then the process I discovered shorts and next thing you know, I was doing little videos of my dog, my little Shih Tzu and then nature, shots, bird shots.. in other words diversify just because of my various interests so here’s a question that comes to my mind… should I create another RUclips channel specifically for Suddenly single that would be separate from all my older family videos(Private or Unlisted) And how would I go about that and if I did that would I be able to pull the videos I already have out there (Public) into that channel. Having just done what I said moving from family videos,, which I still would like to keep private to these newer videos that I now have suddenly 5000 hits or views in one month where I probably had 200 hits or views in the last 12 years. What do I do to protect my family‘s privacy and move my viewers to a new channel? And thanks for doing such a straightforward no nonsense no music no click bait kind of video.
Hey well if those videos are unlisted or private no one else can see them unless they have a link. So you can just use that channel if you like and make those videos public as you wish, but if you rather start with a clean slate a new channel is an option. But there’s nothing wrong with using that channel moving forward in my mind.
@@FoundinFinland Thanks for responding. I’ll look into how,to set up a new channel that is specifically labeled for my public videos but one thing is for sure that I don’t want to lose any current viewers or subscribers. Ive actually thought about creating a family channel and moving those videos over there. So in this video you’re talking about setting up a new unknown channel but is that within your current system or do you have to start with a new email address for the new channel? So those are the questions I’ll have to research but I’m amazed. I’ve gotten over 5000 hits just this month so that’s what’s exciting and that’s why I’m even thinking about it but thanks again for your help!

Hi Alexa, Just fyi: RUclips showed me this video on my home feed - I clicked on it thinking it was on your "regular" channel but realized only after I started watching that this is a second channel that you have. I'm not sure if the algorithm showed it to me because I am already subscribed to your other channel, though.

same, i think it just automatically will show your video to your audience from your other channel. With the Thumbnail the same as her regular channel, don't think this is much of a challenge. Still a talking head video

As someone outside the niche you may be aiming for with this channel (besides being a YT creator), I was surprised to see it on my recommended videos. Gives me hope for this channel I started 3 months ago!

I have a feeling you may have an advantage having another channel already built because I follow your other channel and then this video from your other channel popped up. I have been on RUclips for 10 weeks and I’m at 520 subs and 800 watch hours so still a bit away from monetization. I started a 30 day challenge about 7 days ago so I’m just pushing on! Best of luck! I agree. It’s an excellent idea but it seems like YT is showing it to your subscribers from your other channel, myself included, so you’ll have a big advantage

I think they are showing it because of the monetization video. Maybe I should have just started posting videos instead in the topic of self development /motivation without monetization, because that links to those trying to grow a channel.

I post about travel & hiking but with my niche it's difficult to have content to post every week. I have enough subscribers but the 4000 watch hours is a long way off. I find the algorithm is strange for shorts too. I got just 16 views on my last short 😂😂😂
Oh I wish I could swap some with you, lol! I have the watch hours but not the subs! It boggles my mind because I see so many people saying they have the subs but not the hours and I’m like “HOW?!?!” I guess people enjoy watching my videos but they just don’t want to hit that subscribe button for some reason.
Yes, I find that as well. My shorts rarely every go beyond 500, but I also don't make any effort with them and just use ai programs to cut up my long format into shorts, so I don't think I really can complain! haha
Askf or the sub! Have you asked? Sometime people just don't think about it. Try asking or reminding them somehow in a non-begging way!
Good luck with your experiment. 4000 hours of watch time is over 133 hours of watch time a day for 30 days.

WOW!!! I was shown this video so I wanted to let you know it’s definitely being pushed out. I think I’ll try this challenge over on my other channel, which is a “dead” channel. My current channel that I’m actively growing, is NOT growing that fast, although it’s growing much faster than the other channel. We’ve been at this for 4 years and still haven’t even reached 400 subscribers. ☹️😩
Oh that’s hard! Some niches are slower to grow than others. But there are strategies for getting there faster.

Yes I think the research has become skewed for this channel because many that are here recognized my face and clicked on it. 😅 So I’m not sure how accurate this test will be but I’m having fun nonetheless.

Quick question: can you do a video discussing how much you’ve made on your other channel? Or maybe just how much you made on your first couple of months on that channel? I’d be curious just so I know what is possible.
My nephew started a gaming channel in high school and before he graduated, he had $50,000 in the bank. That blows my mind. But since we are on year 4, and still not even close to monetization, sometimes I fear that day may never come for us. I’ve invested so much time. (And money)
I make around 10k plus or minus monthly. I was monetized in 10 weeks and I started making money from consulting 3-4 months into my RUclips journey. You can see my journey and more @alexasaarenoja my main channel.

Thank you for giving this challenge a go and sharing. Unfortunately, based on the comments, it does look like subscribers and views may be bleeding from your main channel significantly biasing the results. Perhaps the test needs a new channel that has no connection to you, perhaps for one of your clients and follow their progress. In case it helps the video was pushed out to me and I'd never seen your content before.
Yep! I do track my clients results but I wanted to see if I could repeat my results with a different niche…but yes it’s proving difficult. 😅
Subscribed. I'd love to see where this goes. I have about 90 subscribers now, but pushing out content every single day (in 3 languages), do you think you can also overdo it?
I’ve never tested more than three videos a week but I do think it’s good to give your videos some breathing room.. like post every two days versus everyday.
@@FoundinFinland Yeah, in the long run, I won't post more than once a week (except for shorts), because I think the pressure is too high, I'm working and studying and have a family. But now I'm recording (or dubbing when it's no talking head video) every video in three different languages. I already feel the pressure to be consistent in uploading everything at the same time. But not sure how that will turn out in a couple of months.

Love this idea because I'm confused! 🤣 I've been posting consistently for 6 months; everyday long form for 23 days; I have 385 total vids posted and I'm at 140 subs 80 public watch hours.
I'm not upset about it, but I don't know how people are doing it so fast but I'm happy for them!! 🎉💚
No hate here, but I do wonder why I haven't picked up more momentum yet. My long forms are specifically in the raw & authentic niche style and I offer value in a relatable genuine way through my life experience-- which is exactly what everyone says RUclips is pushing right now, but my views on long form range from 17-676.

I love your energy on your channel. You had me laughing! One thing I would say is get your ideas out before you try to get them out in video. Meaning, plan a little more. Write out bullet points, think about what you want to say and how it will help people, then get to the point more quickly in your videos. Maybe that will help. Make it really clear what you are helping people with and why they should stick around. xoxo

It's going well, but it seems a lot of people are recognizing me from my other channel so I need to do this with a completely different genre or I should have not posted the monetization 30 day challenge post. Or maybe I should just change the thumbnail to a faceless pic....hmmm

Subsciber 76 i dont know what your other channel is. It just popped up for me because i am starting my own channel after battling with myslef for years on if i could really do it so i have been searchibg videos on editing for beginningers and such

I keep seeing this 30 days to get monetized videos but I don't get it. I only have 6 subs which I really appreciate but It's not easy to not get feedback on the videos I create and upload.
Yes I think the 30 days to monetized is a bit inflated for my experience unless you just post videos about RUclips journey Weichih I’m trying to avoid here beyond the first one.

Hi. Not sure how this channel is different from your other channel. Even the thumbnail looks the same. I think the challenge would be if this channel was completely different, and having a monetization video you know will bring in views because that's how you started your other channel. Doesn't seem like a real channel. This is still a sit down channel like your other channel and to me looks like the exact same content

Yes I was thinking that too. I was just making a video for a faceless channel yesterday and then got busy with something else. If I could make those videos quickly I could test it but otherwise I’m pretty low on extra time 😅😂
