The grass is rarely any greener on the other side.
Coming from South Africa, emigration out of the country has been massive for years. And yet many of those who leave end up returning. Places to avoid: the anglo-saxon countries and western europe. Especially UK and Canada.

Ja, amazing how many Saffers are still leaving for the UK. I ask myself, why? The UK is in decline. But, visiting SA I don't blame people for leaving. Breaks my heart, but it is a failed state. One just mourns one's childhood.

In Russia they live, not survive. Survived in the 90s. Please take this into account and remember. But there will always be people who believe that in another place life is sweeter, and the piece is fatter. If in the last century there was little information and such stupidity as moving to another country in search of a “better life” was excusable (due to ignorance), now in the age of the Internet this is extreme stupidity. People from many countries return to Russia. They are coming in hundreds, thousands (including from Germany)... This probably says something. ☝

I suggest keep your all of important documents upto date, start a small business so that company can act on your behave when dealing with foreign immigration, a couple of private/business bank accounts at home and abroad.
Also I would say, to you, Nasti, up skill on new learning while doing some traveling abroad and if not abreast with the geopolitical world scene with it's global agenda leading upto 2030 and beyond, now is the time do it.
Many of us here in the UK, Europe and Notify America, who are aware, we have no choice but to put plans in place , as the same time act on it.
I know it sounds scary and that is okay, preparedness is the key.

Yeah, moving somewhere else would lead to initial alienation even for more extraverted types. I was homeschooled myself, and highly introverted (INTJ, or INTp in socionics) in addition to having a formal diagnosis of Asperger's back in 2004 (but I'm not "autistic enough" for disability, as I'm still theoretically useful as a worker in the eyes of the glorious state -_- ), so I've always felt like an alien everywhere I've lived.
Presently in America, despite statistics showing somehow absurd high average pay by some fudging of numbers, most people I've known are broke. Few can afford all the dream things like the boomers were able to in their heyday, as everything is absurdly overpriced and the costs increase while the wages stagnate for most in general.
From what I've seen of videos showing prices of food even after the whole political ordeal, Russia seems to have better prices than most stores even here in Texas. And soon the megacorporations which own everything are going to be adding bugs as filler to most items, so that's going to probably give the hospitals more business here in America. So yeah, nothing may be perfect anywhere but I'd rather live in Russia myself if I could ever afford it.

The U.S.A. is rich relative to many other countries because we can eat chicken feathers and horse manure (indirectly, though, I do eat chickens and mushrooms grown from these,) and live within houses built with wood and cardboard drywalls. We have products considered cheap relative to our incomes. Income to cost of living is a good basic indicator of well-being.

@@russian_nasti and these people don't need your money. They just need your time, your company. They just want to see you smile in front of them. A lot of stupid liberals (me being one of them) spent a lot of time outside (in another country or city) missing out on these until it was too late. We mostly leave our country because we think it's not developed enough and we work like donkeys in other countries which are already so-called 'developed'. Had we spent the same labour developing our own countries, this situation wouldn't arise and there would be no need to leave your country/city. Another aspect is the illusion that things are better in the west (products or services or culture or food or heritage). This again is very misleading. For example mostly unripe fruits suck in the west and food in general is a lot more expensive. They lack the spiciness and flavours we have in our lives as well as our food. Technologically, they are actually lagging behind, they are just good at marketing and presenting crap as gold. The initial development that they managed to achieve was from looted wealth. It won't last forever. While our countries struggle to grow the hard way with honesty and make no qualms about it. Some of our downfalls were our own making. Dissolving a mighty USSR in a split second out of the blue, or accepting the USD as the global reserve currency (based on nothing but the letters 'in God we trust') and the more the US prints this toilet paper, the more the rest of the currencies depreciate. For a long time I didn't understand this and blamed my government for the depreciating currency and now I realize that it wasn't their fault. We voluntarily accepted the poisonous drinks to be the Elixir of life and forgot our own lovely local drinks. Among Russian drinks, kwas is my favourite and among the Indian ones, we have so many to choose from. I believe that educated people in our countries need a bit of reorientation to free their minds of stupidity.

Wow! I am so impressed! It is so nice to see someone addressing "pros and cons" in a sensible way. I also find you immediately engaging. This is a special type of beauty that I find mainly in Russian women. They are not made from a mold or a cookie-cutter. You have unique qualities. You are real! You have depth! And your connection to family and society makes you larger than yourself!
I'm sure you have made the right decision. As a Russian woman, you are special; in a foreign country where society is atomized, you would be a "nobody". You would be lost in the crowd. You are living in a great country, a country that is growing, a country with a future, a country that inspires much of the world. A negative reaction is better than no reaction at all: Hatred is better than indifference.
I want to learn Russian, but I keep getting distracted by the astonishing changes happening all around us -- the proxy war against Russia, Israel's war against everybody, resistance to genocide! I am involved online in various discussions. I try to show people what they are missing -- e.g., the other side of history! -- while avoiding unproductive arguments. Perhaps I need a Russian class that deals with current events -- war, genocide, resistance, solidarity, struggle, empathy, openness, friendship, resolve, patience, truth.
Soon, Russia will be celebrating the victory in 1945, but we now see that the victory was not complete: Once again, Russia is under attack by "The West". I am certain that Russia will once again be victorious. But victory in war is never glorious. Nothing about war is glorious. It is all horrible. But victory is less horrible than defeat. Although I side with Russia, I sympathize with Ukrainians and with all of the victims of wars -- most of which are started by the Empire of the West.
Thank you for listening! And thank you for sharing your thoughts with us! I am glad that you are happy in Russia!

The traditional May 9th Victory Parade has been cancelled from what I gathered. It's cancelled not just in Moscow. You may want to learn more things about Russia before determining that Russia has a great future. I generally measure whether the native people are emigrating or immigrating and why they do so.
Generally speaking, allowing people to visit, live in, and become acculturated to new societies is great for building up mutual tolerance, understanding, trust, trade, and investments but migration must be controlled by the receiving countries. The reason is that cultures can be diluted and *NO ONE* can escape from *ANY* society they *CREATE* with their own attitudes, biases, and cultures. No one can run away from themselves or cure the problems they create. The U.S.A. was founded upon guns (hunting using guns allowed the earliest colonists to survive) so mass violence tends to be fairly rare: we only have maybe one mass shooting a day with four people shot dead including the perpetrator(s). The way to avoid joining the statistics is "Don't be in these places at the wrong times." guns are the great equalizers of all mortals.
Foreign societies should generally be judged with their peculiar histories, geographies, and cultures in mind.

@@solconcordia4315 I don't get the point you are trying to make. Are you saying that much of Russian society is conservative and traditional? If so, I agree. And I see this as a good thing, up to a point. Are you saying that Russian society is largely oblivious to the Miracle of Existence? Well, that may change eventually. For now, Russia offers the stability we need to survive the next few years, and survival matters. The Empire of the West has gone right off the rails.

And you have to keep your pie hole shut and your eyes and ears open more. You have to learn something from every step you take. The USA is the only place left that you can do this and keep enough weaponry and ammo to keep yourself fed and unharmed by the dross that surrounds you.

The USA is Terrorist State number 1 in the World, it did not sign the ICC, and supports a Genocide in GAZA, and Nazies in Ukraine.
