My first Quake 2 duel was in early 1998. Here I am, nearly 23 years, 1 wife, 2 kids, several houses, later......still watching duel demos. The muscle memory is so intense my hand just wants to grab the mouse and take over the game.
This takes me back. I really enjoy seeing all those tricks. Once upon a time I did all of the jumping tricks in this video. I was into shooters before this, starting with Duke Nukem 3D, but Quake 2 was revolutionary because before it we didn't use a mouse, instead we used the cursors and pressing left or right would slowly rotate the player and to look up and down we'd press pgup or pgdn, then quake 2 came along and we adopted WASD and a mouse and got into epic deathmatches like this one, this style of controls for FPS gameplay was so good that even today over 20 years later people still use it.
Wow, that was epic! LOL at the many overtimes. I don't remember a 'David' player though, so makes me wonder who? It's been a long while since I played.
Hello, compared to other players I started to play this game really late, but biggest giants like Damiah or Purri were still around. I'm just David, purri's favorite player! You are welcome to play again, we are still alive and kickin'!
@@Quake2David Ahh, that'll be why then. I started online in 1999 and played for many years after that, until the servers got too quiet. I never played at your level but still loved watching league/duel demos with Purri, Damiah, and many others. I still have Q2 on the drive here today, and always will, but I just kick around with bots (terrible, I know) now and again. Maybe I'll come online again sometime instead for a kickabout, though you guys are toooo good, so would truly annihilate me. :)
Great jump skills David. Do you change to/use special settings for the jump from Edge-arena to SSG platform (as you see to do that one very consistently)?
No, I dont have specific binds for fps. For this one I use 120fps, same as for all other maps except maybe two or three where I use 130fps. (for example q2dm6, easier jump to railgun, or q2dm8 - easier on boxes)
@@dankalem11 its random, you have to find this special pixel to climb on the roller, not sure about fps but usually on dm6 i was using 130 to make jump for rail without falling to lava

Tdm i duel zacząłem pod koniec 2008, wcześniej bawiłem się na insta gib. Ze Scoobym na samym początku mojej przygody z tdm miałem okazję zagrać kilka razy jak ze swoim bratem weszli na serwer :)
@@Quake2David Myślałem, że Scooby skończył z q2 w 2005 ale widać ciągnęło go po latach do gry! Zaskoczyłem się, że na Quakecom był Q2, dopiero teraz odkryłem, że to z okazji 20 lecia. Q3 też grasz?
@@nitrobeatzinstrumentals930 bo faktycznie skończył w momencie wylotu do US. Mam gdzieś demo nawet z tej gry, on grał na pingu 150, sasha grał z Polski i szukali kogoś do gry :) w q3 nie gram, q2 forever!

@@Quake2David I've seen you get out of lava in dm6 where the railgun is. how the hell did you do that? :P fps 130?
