I am a huge fan of James Spader. Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp and many other great actors all belong to 80s and 90s. the new generation also has good stars but those guys who are now in their 50s are still more adorable and amazing than these young ones. I am 35 and wish I was born 20 years sooner.
He and Johnny Depp are the two finest actors of my generation (I'm 51), and the only role that did not show RDjr's fine acting ability is his portrayal of Tony Stark aka Iron Man. I don't mean this in a negative way because if you watch him in interviews, like this video, you see the same person. He can transform into any character, but Tony Stark? That was RDjr just being himself and not acting. I've never been a bigger fan than seeing him as Stark, primarily because he just makes it look so damn effortless. He IS Tony Stark, and that's why he was perfect for the role.

He really is a brilliant actor and that's why he can be very different. He "is" a selfish and funny Tony Stark only to promote Avengers' films (what he is doing almost all the time just because that job is well-paid). But he "is" an excentrical Sherlock Holmes in other interviews as well or he "is" a very quiet Steve Lopez when he promotes "The Soloist".
He's so adorable. He and his wife are absolutely adorable together. If i ever got to meet him one day, i'd tell him how adorable he is, and-- then i'd melt... right there. Or maybe swoon. One day, i'll let you know how it plays out, haha.
