Ouch! You dislocated your hip?! Dang, I did that when I was in my early 20s while I was pregnant and developed arthritis in that hip, so be careful and I would suggest you start taking calcium.
Not worried about digging out. When they are happy, they don't go anywhere. If they do get out, they don't go far. I will be putting up electric fencing but we do have livestock dogs

We do well with keeping coyotees out with noclimb, black netting, rabbit fencing and electric fence, but when we had rabbits they dug out & there are raccoons that can climb here, birds of prey, mountain lion, bob cats, neighbors dogs & cats. The chickens would sometimes hop the no climb too. We've found a full enclosure top and bottom with rabbit fencing is safest for them. When unattended that is. I do free range them in a fully fenced pasture when I'm gardening. We don't have LGD. That is probably nice to have. I don't know how to train them to do that.
