A great demo that gets right to the point. I really like seeing the wheel in the air spinning while the one on the ground barely rotates and then showing what happens with the locker engaged. Seeing you do hill climbs and going over the rough terrain has confirmed that getting the Off Road package was the right choice for me. Now all I need is for Toyota to finish building my truck and deliver it to my dealer. I bet you are having fun putting together these videos.
Having to be in any 4WD mode is a stupid application of a locker. Even in 2WD, the locker is great for getting moving in slippery conditions. Good explanation of how it works in a Tundra.
On other Toyota’s with rear lockers, has the aftermarket world came up with ways of activating the rear locker in 2WD, and 4H? If so, have you heard of anyone working on it for the Tundra? Great Professional video.
Well in the aftermarket world the locker engagement is not dependent on the use of 4Hi/Lo. I am using an Eaton E-Locker in my tundra and can engage it in 2WD.
Snap, crackle and pop suspension. Still prefer the previous generation Tundras. Toyota needs to put the front end of the new redesign Sequoia on the Tundra. Also add tow hooks. Looks way better. Grille too large on the Tundra.
I really like your presentation. Calm and confident. Very nice change of pace.
The best explanation between an open Dif and a locking differential
Great video. Thank you.

This looks like an area in central oregon I go offroading at.
Informative video! Thank you
Sad that Toyota took this long to put rear lockers on the Tundras, when the other mfr's had them on their comparable size trucks
Thanks for the video! Just love Central Oregon!!!
Need to figure out how to engage the locker in 2WD like the fords do !
Excellent video - explaining the rear locker and then showing the application. THANK YOU
Great explanation. Thank you.

Creaking rear suspension?
The mic is positioned by the exhaust so you're hearing the suspension up-close
@@DrivenCompanion Ah, gotcha. Beautiful truck though!
Yes! Great explanation! Great testing site as well. I guessed bend Oregon in another video. But could be Klamath. Lol if so…that’s where I’m at!
Excellent explanation of the locker. To see it in action is extremely helpful.
Bs they didn't have it on last gen. Gonna have to aftermarket mine. Good news is I can lock it in 2wd if I wanted to. Snow days will be drift days!

No, it's in the computer, no one has come up with a solution

Great explanation, I would have to see the truck climb with crawl control enable also
Why only on 4wd lo?
If you don’t opt for the OFF ROAD package with the rear locker, will the truck still have an auto LSD?
You’ve got to do something about that piano black finish around the shifter.
I’d wrap it in vinyl.
Eh, doesn't really bother me...
What color is your truck ?
Blueprint
Would a locking differential be helpful on a very slippery boat ramp?
Yeah I could see it being helpful there. Crawl control might help too since it kinda of mimics a locker on the front and rear

Is it an actual mechanical locker or brake control lsd? I have seen several videos and reviews of the truck doing one wheel peel.
It is an electrically activated mechanical lock. You can only activate it in 4 lo though. You cannot activate the locker in 2wd or 4Hi
While this is a good demonstration, it makes more sense to compare it to the only model.
You said one thing wrong that I can tell the new tundra has a limited slip not an open differential
It sounds like it’s falling apart lol
Sounds squeaky
