Finally a vid that sheds light on how bad gallaghers AI is. I thought the game was bugged when he didnt ult on auto play. And this vid also comes out at a great time as gallagher's kit got me confused. Great vid as always eod!👍👍
Usually, new character's ai needs a patch or 2 to adjust it properly

reminder about his E1. if you decide to run broken keel you can completely discard effect res in his build that 50% effect res on enter is permanent.
in a situation where you can't reach BE threshold. i think ER rope and BE rope is equally a valid choice due to his enhance normal will make your entire team take 15% less damage only from one enemy, but most of the time the thing that going to hit you really hard either a boss or elite unit so having that up most of the time is most likely to help you survive the initial hit and let your character get healed up afterward.
Also if you use the perfect timing lc (i think that's what it's called, the one that converts effect res into outgoing healing), that eidolon and his traces gives so much effect res you don't have to worry about it
There's this pretty crazy concept I found of just pressing the ult button on him in auto battle. It totally works

I wanted to point out - more Break Effect might make Gallagher’s own breaks do more damage, but more SPD lets him deal more toughness damage, which gives him more opportunities to break and allows him to contribute to breaking enemies in general even if he is not the one who actually inflicts the break. SPD also benefits his support abilities, it lets him recharge his Ult faster and use it more often (so more uptime on his debuffs and more chances to Break enemies), it gives him more opportunities to use his Skill to heal/cleanse, and it lets him generate more SP when he DOESN’T need to heal. For similar reasons, I’m tempted to run an ERR rope on him over BE.
I will probably run him with an Outgoing Healing jacket, SPD boots, and an ERR rope. For relic sets, his Ultimate doesn’t target allies, so he can’t take advantage of 4pc Hackerspace or Watchmaker, and I think it’s worth pointing out that the 10% healing bonus from 2pc Passerby is only 2% more than the healing bonus from a 2pc Break Effect, so either 4pc Thief (the extra energy would be great in Pure Fiction, but can't be procced at all if there are no Fire-weak enemies) or 2pc Hackerspace + 2pc Break Effect (as mentioned in the video, most general build).
I also think Multiplication might be worth running over What Is Real?; the 48% Break Effect is nice of course, but the self-healing from the cone isn’t that great on a character who can’t guarantee they will be taking more damage than the rest of the team, so unless you can make sure he will contribute to the team offensively by Breaking, Multiplication drastically increases how many turns he takes (and his heals don’t scale on his HP, ATK, or DEF so he doesn’t care about the lower base stats as much as other healers do).
I agree. His healing is actually insane. Used mine to get 3 stars vs Sam in moc 12.
If you used Multiplication you can drop err rope and use the 5% err from planar set with break effect rope.
I use Quid Pro Quo e4 to help my Ratio, Topaz, and Silver Wolf get they ults a bit faster.
I see people wanting to run him with Post Op but I think it's one of his worst LCs.
I'm a bit of a lurker here but I absolutely appreciate demonstrations overall kit instead of the usual tc'er reading the kit out to me and just sticking to excel sheets alone.
I agree, the AI for auto battle is kinda weird. Manual playing is the way to go for him, he saved me from being killed during Aven's final battle.
Yeah he won’t use the ult unless a couple allies are low health, like in the red. I really hope they fix this, because it feels bad
I pre-farmed the resources for him and acheron, hes been such a joy to use compared to natasha (I didnt do pure fiction second section because I dont have 8 built units) and honestly super nice to pair him with acheron, also more fire dmg that I didnt have. Having his heal on skill be flat value and not scaling with any stat means you can use literally any sht tier relics and still use him, his debuffs also only scale with trace levels.
Very happy with him and acheron, but gallagher is wonderful to use, and glad I got him e6 on the way to acheron

Bro, when pulling for acheron, I got no Gallagher, took him from the 4* selector and did an extra 30 or so pulls after getting acheron to get him e1.

The newest update patch notes mentioned his AI, has this made him comfortable. I actually just got him and up to e6 due to this ruan Mei rerun
I definitely suggest getting A6. You can use his ult > basic as an emergency heal then and at 150 break, its a pretty high amount of heal
Hey EOD, I have him at e5 now, how much of a difference do you feel his e6 makes? I'm considering whether or not to get it with the free 4* selector
Im confused for the post op lightcone will the ongoing healing affect his overall healing or will it only be applied on ult cause ive seen people say the ongoing healing is useless on him
I was wondering whether using the other lc similar to the one ur using, i think its called like "warmth on a cold night" or something along those lines, would be a viable option on him, i was thinking he could use more aoe healing, he mostly uses basic attacks and like the video said 150 break effect isnt a MUST HAVE
I lost 50/50 on Acheron banner but did end up getting E6 Pela and E3 Gallagher so not all lost and now I have guaranteed Aventurine. Now to see where I can use this sus fella

It's probably best to go energy rope on talia and break rope on any energy sets for him? He feels really weak when he does get hit, even if his hp is quite high

As an avid fan of only using 4 star sustains (Skipped all limited sustains) Galboy is totally welcome!
If you can't use the 4 Piece of Traveler, it doesn't make sense to use it personally. It'd be better to use Musketeer at that point cause you also have the 6% speed boost, but also get ATK and basic atk dmg. I'd go for either that or Thief of Shooting Meteor on him, both being good and basic as hell to get. With his E6, S5 of his own cone (which you can get from MoC store), and traces on top of Meteor set, you only need 36.7 Break Effect to max out his "Required" amount for traces, and such a small amount would also let you go for as much speed as possible. Hell, people probably have tons of speed/break effect pieces of either of these sets.
I think his real value will increase if you are interested in pulling for E1 Sam (adds Fire Weakness)

Slight addition to the "play him manually" point (which is absolutely true, auto behavior is really bad): You want to ult on him off his own turn, since he has a trace that gives him 100% action advance.

Yall dont need to manually play the game still, just manually press his ult. Turn auto if you need to slow down. PS5 got advantage just by pressing ult button to pause. idk just me i suppose

Probably better than Natasha, and on about the same level as Lynx. There's a big asterisk there, though: Gallagher cannot cleanse debuffs whatsoever unless he has E2. In fights with a lot of negative statuses you may struggle with Gallagher, and in those cases Natasha or especially Lynx would fit better.

Yea the AI on his auto kinda weird maybe it uses the same logic as traditional healing ult. But you can just press his ult on auto whenever its up instead of turn off the auto.

He doesn't need "Perfect Timing". He has 28% Eff res from traces + 50% from E1. He just needs Effect res to appear 6 times on his relics which should be easy.
Well u think the lc that heals himself is good as y will never have to worry about his health especially as its single target meaning u can focus on others

Gallagher with only e2, or e4 if possible, he is doubtely Luocha in 4 star character, but deal more damage. There is no reason to pull Luocha right now since his kit is outdated as hell compared to hard content like this and the future of break meta. The only upside Luocha is better than all other sustains is massive healing, but who actually cares when other sustains right now can do both damage and healing, and still guarantee your team survive.
I wanted e6 but I just got one Gallagher and a Luocha😫😫😫
