The station building is, as you said, complete. I love the detailed interior and the signage and fencing , not to mention the tarmac area! It looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing. Roy.
Dear John, beautiful Hatfield station! Love the way you tapered the structure along the backdrop. With that small part of the roof going down in front of the 2D representation (still in the making) the station already enhances its appearance, such placement in conjunction with the backdrop truly enhances the illusion of depth. Love the way you did the interior and other details. Cheerio
Thank you Vincent, I always wanted to put the building on the skew to create more interest. It was a challenge working out all the angles, but think its worked out well. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Excellent work John. The finished building is brilliantly done and I do like the tarmac repairs - very realistic. From the work I'm doing myself I can appreciate the amount of time and effort you'll have spent on just this one aspect of Picadilly 😊
Exactly Euan, it does take time. Gratefully drying times are shorter atm, being Summer. So glad the hols have come. I know I finished few days earlier, but its just so nice to actually stop, recover, sleep / rest when I want. Be nice to have a chat at some point.
Hi John, I hope you've been keeping well. I'm catching up on videos this morning, hence the late comments. It really is fun modelling a true station, and I can see that you have truly nailed this. It looks absolutely brilliant. I was so impressed with the station building and interior, but then, you added the details to the platform, and wow. Really nice work, John. Lee
Bless you Lee, thank you so much. Really glad you like it. You are right, it is fun modelling a real location, it is easy knowing what goes where and how it looks. Catch you soon, take care.
Hi John! Great to see how the station building turned out! Love the attention to detail, with those tiny security cameras and loudspeakers! Like others have said, the imperfections in the tarmac on the platform surface really add to the scene! Looking forward to the next update already! All the best, Ian.
Thank you Ian, so glad you like it. When I started the layout I always wanted a series of stations so trains had somewhere to stop at or go to. As I built Man Pic it seemed logical to continue with the theme of modling real stations. Although there are adaptions and compromises to be made, much of the thinking has been done already. Images tell me what goes where, the colour of the plaform, tones on the building etc, etc, etc. I really enjoy creating something already existing and making it in model form. It creates its own challenges but huge fun too. You have alll this to come.
That is a very fine bit of modelling there John. No easy task to get all those small details on the building and it really is a very good representation of the original. The chimneys look fine to me, having spent some time studying chimneys. The work on the platform really ties everything together. Stephen
Thank you Stephen, very kind of you. There was definitely a big step forward when Id the tarmac repairs. Think the hardest part is done now the scenery and detailing should be fairly quick.
Great attention to detail. I'm sure they are speakers, as I've seen that type elsewhere - don't ask where, though! It looks great, really great. Can't wait to see a train rolling into the station!
Thanks Dave, me too. Absolutely tons to do before that, but least Im on hol now for a few weeks. Really hoping I can make significant progress, inc the two water pours. Thanks for your continued support.
Hi John That has come out really well and all the little details on the station building bring it to life . I do like the patchwork tarmac. Enjoy the school holidays ................. Cheers Kev
Thank you so much Kev. Looks like the Chatham show was a massive success, saw a few videos. Stunning layouts, and indeed a huge, fantastic venue. Never know I may even make it one year.
Hi John It was a tiring few days but well worth it but didn’t get to see much as I was doing the meet & greet role 😀😀 It seems to have gone very well and we hope it will now go back to being an annual show . We have booked the venue for next year so put the 19th & 20th July in your diary or build a layout and exhibit it 😀😀👍🏾 Cheers Kev
That’s a shame you missed much of it. Maybe you could suggest a rolling rota, where a few people do a few roles and rotate. Free time is factored in too, perhaps 2-3 hour time slots? That way no one person is stuck outside and everyone has time to see some of the show.
It was not too bad as I got to have a look before and after the show started . It’s a steep learning curve and now we know who is good at what we will allocate roles and have relief organised 😀
Hi John, As always a super video and another part of the build nearly there, its great you have a break from work a fest of building is expected now to push this layout further to completion but well done for this one. Cheers Robert.
Thank you so much Bill, I’m just having fun, loving the holiday already even after couple of days. Hadfield makes 4 stations. Obviously Hadfield, Piccadilly, Dinting and New Mills Central. Glossop will be the last to be built. The idea is to give trains that sense of journey even over a few feet of travel.

Thanks Roy
John, I do like the tarmac repair, the chimneys, and the mound. You are definitely catching the mood of such a station. Regards, Stephen.
Thanks Stephen, bit by bit getting there. Hopefully I can crack on now it’s school hols.
More great modelling John - you and Michael @ Chandwell constantly inspire me 👏👏
Bless you, much appreciated. You are right, Michael is amazing modeller and very inspiring, especially with new Bradford Cathedral bulld.
Just amazingly beautiful. Your attention to the detail is so fantastic, it looks 👍 thanks so much for sharing your talent😊
Glad you like it.

Beautiful work John.
Hi, Your chimneys look just about right to me from the last time I was there..
Thank you, its always a bit of a guess when you model from images.
Awesome job!!! Just amazing Jonn!! Keep up the good work! Cheers Onno.
Thanks, will do!

Yes definitely, a well need stop required. This past term has been quite tough in many varied ways. I will up the videos but take time, go out etc etc
Just awesome modeling John.
Thanks Allan, glad you like it.

Love the detail of Hadfield station. How many stations are there at Piccadilly? I count 3. Bill and Janet from California
