I don't blame you Samo! Don't care for shorts either and another thing that bugs me about them is that YT doesn't send a notification for them till DAYS after they have actually been posted.(At least on my phone) Happy Caturday and y'all have a great weekend ❤

oh yeah I definitely agree with the inconsistent views. Some shorts just don't go anywhere and that can get frustrating. I completely understand all your points. I feel like Shorts and Long Form should be two separate platforms. I've gone back and forth with whether or not I should continue to post shorts. But for now I'll continue to do them until I get tired of it. I would prefer to post two long form videos per week but I don't have the time to do a second long form which is why I started to post shorts. But yes, there is sooooooo much content out there for shorts! 💗💗💗

These are all good points, my friend. I do post a Short every day. I make a lot in one go and then schedule them to be released one a day at the same time. I too am aware that the algorithm for shorts is different to long form content. I therefore use my shorts as a means to reach a wider audience but disable the comments so that my regular audience don't have to watch them individually. Shorts have taken me from just over 1k subscribers 18 months ago to nearly 4000 subs today. They're a great way to get to push your channel out to new people. Like 9 :)

It does sound like it's working well for you if you gain so many new followers by doing Shorts in the way you making it, I know many say the same thing but I always felt they don't watch the long-form content as much if they find us via Shorts, but I'm not sure. I agree with what you are saying personally, I make shorts because its easier for me. But I completely understand your point of view along with the "Cluttering" and "Must do" issues, I also have been contemplating on making more long formats and making shorts less often. All the recommendations I have got from family members and websites said you can easily gain subs through shorts; hence why I have only posted one long format on my channel, but in all reality it WAS and still is a vlog channel. So yeah, I think I may go down on the road you are because shorts get tiring to make after a while.

Hi Samo. We agree with you. There are too many shorts and especially too many low quality shorts. They are simply a copy of TikTok. I started watching them to support my YT friends, who of course only make high quality shorts. But I stopped shortly thereafter because it's so much easier to like and comment on regular videos. That's in addition to my Tursday and Saturday night long format videos. I did it to try to get many more subs quickly, but for me it never happened. I honestly am getting a bit burned out with it, but so many people enjoy it l keep going. But eventually l may just go back to my two long format videos. Thank you for sharing that Patty😊 In the beginning when Shorts was a new thing I think many gain subs by posting them, i guess it was creators reward from youtube but it soon got so big that everyone posted too often & too many that it instead started to tank channels, not all, but far too many. 2 long videos a week plus a short sounds a lot to me! So i understand you feel burnedout a bit, to me 1 video a week is all i can manage, it actually felt good to just let shorts go for me, a burden was lifted off but i know few feel the same about it but thats ok😸 Have a good rest of weekend both of you🩷
