I love that you mentioned how your vision morphed as you went along. That always happens with me. Art tends to want to create itself sometimes lol. Great video! Enjoyed heaps. TY!
I also wanted to ask you, as Im kind getting into doll customising myself - when you're using mr super clear, what mask/respirator do you use? How often do you change your filters? Thank you and once again love your work! :)
I use the 07193 respirator by 3M and I usually change the filters when I start to be able to smell anything through them. Probably not the BEST to wait that long, but I'm cheap and don't want to buy a lot of replacement filters, lol ... But also I have a really sensitive nose so I feel like the second I smell anything weird is early enough to catch that the filter needs to be changed. It's usually roughly every couple of months though if I use the respirator weekly.
@@julesnar1175 I find I can get away with using a painters mask for chemical particulates (check your local hardware shop) so long as I use it outside.
Hi, i wonder how you use the sealant? Did you brush it on the face? Or you use a spray bottle? How about the layering? I'm sorry, too many questions. I love how it turned out.
For this doll I brushed it on the face carefully after the acrylic paint was dry and it surprisingly didn’t wash away the pastel shading I did on the face :) I think I did a couple of coats and let it thoroughly dry in between if I remember correctly
I want to get into doll customising and I know this sounds a lil dumb but I was wondering after you use mr super clear and finished the custom would the doll be toxic or bad to have in an environment I have a main fear of that with my anxiety :)
That’s not a dumb question at all! As far as I know it should be safe after using Mr. Super Clear; once completely dry the doll’s face has pretty much no smell unless you put it right up to your nose. Hope that helps!
Mister super clear for 30 dollars, here in Brazil it cost almost 200 reais (Brazilian money) it's like, the double 😹😹 I cryed when I know the mister super clear cost so much and I don't have this money. And other problem it's here they don't even sell this sealant, I don't find in no one place to buy lolol
Oh no I'm sorry that's awful! I'm planning on doing a video that compares lots of different kinds of sealants, so hopefully once that is out it will help you find something else to use! :)
Can you please try testors dull cote? They sell that sealant at michaels for 5 dollars, and I would love to see you trying it and comparing it to msc, I’m not super crazy about the toxicity of spray sealants but the truth is they take pastels way better, another doubt I just got is, can someone make a face up using 2 kinds of sealants, like msc or testors for the first 3 coats and blushing, and then the rest on brush on sealant and finish with spray sealant? I have some experiments to do, but the main thing is I would like you to try testors since is a cheap easy to find option at least in USA, and I’ve never used msc so I can’t compare them but you could?
omg lol this comment made me laugh xD I ... honestly have no idea why; I guess the shirt design I was using for reference had a dead bear so I just sort of did it without thinking - it never occurred to me that it was a "dead bear" though, just that it had Xs for eyes.
"Sculpey" is the brand name of some very common polymer clay in the US, but any polymer clay (that is, the clay you have to bake in the oven to harden) would work just fine.
I would like to make them slower, but if I do that then I have to edit out large sections, so things are skipped ... I'm still trying to find the happy medium @_@ I hope you enjoy the videos anyway ^^;;
basically like the emo person i am, i wanna make custom heavy metal band member dolls, andddd i am short on money so my plan is to buy all the stuff that is In this video and make them😅
I wish I had an art store like this in my town 😂
Tae Wade I’m going to post a budget custom using only things I bought online ... so maybe that will be better ..?

@@AceLAYER respirators usually only need their filters changed quarterly if used daily. You're doing fine. (OSHA certified for fitting respirators)

Dollumentary used testors in her face up videos and the end result looked pretty good IMO
Ur so under rated :c
Love the doll. One question. Why is the bear dead.

This is really good ❤️👌
I'm glad you turned the bear into a bunny, cause it just didn't make sense otherwise. 😂😂
fantastic, thanks a bunch
