Training for injury prevention is the best thing he can do considering the long history of NBA big men with chronic lower body injuries. The coordination training is something else though! Most big guys get away with simply using their size to create impact while the greats add some skills as well. But not usually the type of ball handling and coordination skills that you might expect from a PG! Victor is truly a unicorn/alien!

It feels like no one in this comment section actually watched the video. Hes doing all of these things to prevent the problems that plagued all the big men of the past, none of them did any of these things he's doing to prevent injury. And the fact hes building muscle slower and more deliberately means his actual strength is probably greater than it seems. And as far as his weight goes, he doesn't need it because he has the height and length to create leverage on defense and the footwork and speed to create space and get around defenders on offense.

Not to mention the Spurs are about to open a new $510 million dollar practice facility, so that combined with wembys strict regimen, I do believe he can have a longer NBA career than people are willing to admit. Victor's problem right now is that he isn't listening to what the NBA said!!! They did not stated "Devon, you're the 1st pick already, go on and rest" for nothing. He refused to do that, and here's the problem : despite his incredible transformation, is metabolism is quite simply *too fast* to put on enough mass to endure the NBA without a high risk of injury. Had he listened to them and go rest for a few months, he would have been able to bulk by reducing how many calories he burns. I understand his commitment to the French team, but I'm also certain his teammates would totally get that. He gotta slow down on the matches if he wants to pack up enough. He is still way too skinny for that. Yes - I understand building muscle slowly, and that's the right way for most people. But *not* when you're going to get drafted 1st in the NBA by next year and you still have an unhealthy too low fat percentage and simply not enough weight! I get it, I did a bulk from 140 to 160 pounds myself, it wasn't easy, but I now feel a lot healthier.
I think any coach worth their salt would say, this man, in this situation, should 100% go off-season before the NBA and bulk!

I hope he lasts but he looks too frail, His feet specifically.
I remember having my heart broken with Yao Ming.

Yao is a weird case he was basically created by the Chinese government his parents were forced together as they were two Chinese Olympic athletes to compete with the USA Olympic team. From a very early age in his life he was given what he called "milkshakes" and was never told what was in them, so it's very likely they were just chock full of hgh steroids and who knows what else to help him grow, it's my theory thay he would've been over 7ft but all the possible hormones he took caused him to grow to an unnatural height which could've been why he suffered so many injuries along with just being tall

Yao Ming was 310lbs, Wemby is variously listed at 210, 216, 220, 230. It is the weight that messes up the feet of big men, not the height so much. Yes, having longer feet may be a part of it, but eighty more pounds or more means there is no comparing Yao Ming to Wemby. Also, Wemby does not have to fight for position on the blocks, he can shoot from three and can shoot over everyone in front of him, so he can pull up from 21', or stop and pop at 12', or drive and dunk if he wants; he does not need to get fed the ball just outside the lane and pretend he is Hakeem the Dream.

He's not 230. Heaviest I've seen is 213. NBA 2K lists him at 209. Dude is rail thin. -- Those pushups were aweful for a professional. No core strength.

Not lifting weights because he doesn’t want to fill out! Lmao! It would take years to fill out cause he is so long. Someone gave him bad advice. Lifting will increase bone density and protection of his joints by strengthening tendons and ligaments. Acting like he is going to look like a body builder! Lol
