Hey there,
I bought pvc plastic rod and attempted welding to my pvc pipe.
My pvc rod doesn’t melt like yours in the photo… my pvc pipe was turning brown and it’s stil not melting…. Is mine a bad quality rod? I don’t have the nozzle, I am just using the heat gun by itself.

You need to regulate the temperature, a lot depends on the temperature.
