A really excellent composer! I'm not easily impressed, but in spite of being somewhat Schumanesque-Mendelssohnian in character, there is enough originality to appreciate in this composer.
Alice was very lyrical and her music is continually engaging. It lacks some of the harmonic adventurousness that would increase its dramatic impact, but, all in all, her music is worthy of note. In time, women like her will emerge from the shadows of music history.

This could at a pinch be by Mendelssohn. It deserves to be much better known. Only 44 when she died. What promise never fulfilled!
