    JP, Even with limited time, limited light, limited battery, you still managed to put out a good video. Though you panned the camera faster than you would've liked, it was steady. Didn't make me dizzy. : ) Loved that second house of stone. The outside was super charming. The piece of furniture in one of the last houses was made in the 1960's, made in the French Provincial style. It's a desk, part of a whole bedroom set, for any young girl lucky enough to have one. Can't wait to see the rest of the place. Thanks!

      JPVideos Do you live in the Tri State area? I live in Elkton Maryland, so I’m close to P.A. & Wilmington DE (or just Delaware in general haha) & the one video you posted of that abandoned farm house in Ocean City, I was like, O wow I’m only about 2 hours or less from there! I’m also a abandoned house explorer myself, I don’t tape anything, but I always want to know where I can find some abandoned places near me, & I see you said you use google maps. I never thought to use that & it seems it works! (:

    Judging by the tile in the bathrooms and the craftsman architecture style, these may have been built in the 20’s. The wealthy people of that time could really afford such a lifestyle as resorts. It also appears that no modernization took place after the 60’s or 70’s, judging by the orange and green curtains. In the last building shown, where the fireplace had been capped off, some renovating had been attempted. This was new build with sheet rock instead of plaster, some larger rooms were being converted to several small rooms, and the fireplace was being clumsily eliminated by capping it off. The woodwork around those doors looked 70’s ish, certainly nothing like the woodwork in the original houses. It would be interesting to know some history, like who owned that land and who owns it now. Info like that is public. There were no modern safety features, such as fencing around that pool. And I doubt a new facility would even be allowed a deep pool due to liability. Too bad so much has been lost to “progress.”

    • @JPVideos81
      @JPVideos81  6 лет назад +6

      There were no documents left around, no names anywhere and no address to this place. Only shows up on google maps as a large wooded area.

    • @christinerobinson890
      @christinerobinson890 6 лет назад +1

      I think you would have to go to the county seat. If the land went back for back taxes, the county would own it. It could possibly be up for auction at some point, to maybe a developer, someone with tons of venture capital. Anyone, someone at the county land office would know. Land is not owned by no one. Someone owns it. I don’t have any idea the location or I would search myself. Trees suggest the north east section of the USA, but that’s my only guess, lol. I guess it could be the southeast, but those trees seemed too familiar to this yankee to be in the south. Lol

    • @JPVideos81
      @JPVideos81  6 лет назад +12

      I also dont want to go bringing attention to myself or the location incase there's some legal matter going on with it. Something's are better left to the imagination.

    I noticed a GFCI wall jack near the last house that you explored. I think it was in the house with the vanity/cupboard furniture. I thought that was a modern item required in houses. I did a little research and they started being installed in house starting in 1971. But the first few years they were installed on the outside near pools. That GFCI circuit I think was in a bathroom/kitchen area. You were trying to get a handle on maybe abandoned dates. Maybe look up when those gfci circuits were required in that area or your state. Good video. It doesn't take long for houses or structures not maintained to go to pot. Looks like it was a cool place to be for summer. Thanks for sharing!

    Omg I explored this a little over 2 years ago I knew it looked familiar !! The stairs in the house with the top and bottom looking barn door were so steep and so hard to climb lol. The little houses were used to House the councleors and I think the bus route took them to a neighboring resort (I won’t name names ) and I THINK one of the houses was called Thornhill...my friend that I went with knew more information I’ll have to ask them if they rem anything else

      I've driven by this place quite a few times en route to one of the casinos in PA. I never knew what was up that long abandoned road since all you can see are the stone pillars on either side of the entrance and nothing that's up the hill. Guess I must've somehow missed this video back in September. Just emailed JP yesterday about it cuz I didn't know they had already done this video.

    It's really a shame what's happening in this area with the housing. There's so many unlived places that it's a sin. Many different reasons... from children inheriting and not upkeeping, to the Pocono housing boom where as a surveyor we couldn't turn enough angles and drop enough pins in to keep ahead of the builders, to older people on fixed income who can't afford to continue living in them, TO????

    What is the point in destroying things? Do vandals have to do it or else? I really wish there was a way for them to feel the worst pain imaginable just shoot throughout their entire body every time they break something.

    • @JPVideos81
      @JPVideos81  6 лет назад +8

      Thats the exact reason i dont share locations. Too many people with bad intentions want to just destroy and gives people like myself a bad name.

    • @AlfredHawthornBennyHill
      @AlfredHawthornBennyHill 6 лет назад +9

      More of them need to be caught and suffer more severe forms of punishment. Just because it's abandoned and or someone no longer owns or it's being neglected, doesn't give anyone the right to destroy it.

    The "dresser" you found is a desk and it's missing 2 legs at the far left side. You also had the option of buying the matching mirror that would attach to the back. over the desk side and could then be used as a dressing (vanity) area. I had one of these that matched my chest of drawers, head board, foot board, bedside table and full length mirror. This was about 40 years ago for me and at the time I remember feeling like a princess!

    I was watching this video and for some reason found myself watching a window in one if the house. You went back and forth 3 times on the outside, it's a upstairs window on the left side house, left side window, at the 10:41 mark it's the 3rd time you show the window and whatever is in the window moves. I rewound it twice and others saw it to. I'm not a ghost person but that caught my attention. Just wanted to share and btw thanks for your videos....love them!

    Another great explore...loved the fireplaces the old pool and the stone house especially. The double door is called a Dutch door. I've always love them . It looks like natural decay from the leaking roof(s). odd, no tagging. I've never seen a fireplace with an A-frame surround...really unique.Some beautiful woodwork ( Craftsman style ?) . Please go back ...want to see more : ) Good job Jay and Mike . You make a great team .

    Great video for a stumble upon. Reminds me of summer camp when I was a kid. Your unidentified furniture piece is a desk like the ones used in motels in the 60's. When they remodeled them, they would sell off the furniture.

    Mike is a trip. lol
    I wish we knew how old that stone cabin is.
    Ooo! Nixon era gold shag carpet. (I did my '60 Dodge in that.)
    Drapes by Dr. Tomothy Leary. :-)
    I really think these places are frozen in the early/mid-70's. Even that sideways, block lettering on that "Bus Stop" thing hearkens to that time. I bet they were very nice in their day.
    Someone must've found a bulk deal on those metal, faux fireplace heaters. (Gold shag carpet too.)
    There's a wading pool in front of the big pool.
    Nice video.
    Nice find, Mike!

    I agree with several viewers that the white provencial piece was a dressing table. I noticed none of the houses had kitchens. My family used to go to Keener Springs in SE Missouri that was very similar to the resort in "Dirty Dancing". A summer camp with cabins that had two bedrooms and a back porch that served as a kitchen. Old ice Boxes for keeping things cold on the porch, a stove and a sink and table and chairs. But they also had a central 'lodge' type building where you could go for your meals if you didn't want to cook. Music and dancing in the evening like in the movie. But Patrick Swayze was not in attendance. Getting back to thing place I do believe if you toured all the buildings you might find one large 'lodge' where meals were served and activities we offered. But if all the bedrooms are original it was definitely a tourist camp. Perhaps whoever put in the GFI and tried to modernize it in other ways took out the kitchens (but no sign of any kitchen furniture except one lone chair?).
    Anyway, I really like your videos and wish I could go along with you as I love old abandoned houses, etc. and very rarely get a chance to stop and look should I run across one.
    Keep up the good work, these are very nice.

    It looks like a B&B, which would be the norm in a rural area. They aren't mainstream, but are more family friendly, and probably worth finding when traveling with children. The natural surroundings and peaceful countryside is desirable to most who seek relief from stress of everyday life. Too bad is't abandoned. Hopefully, someone will come and renew.
