Mwaka mpya njema bwana na bibi Washington 🎉 When people go to the village or their ancestral homes more often than not it's not a 2 day trip. At the very least they'll be there before Xmas till New Year. Remember, when we go home, it's a gathering of family, close and extended so people make the most of it. That's why you'll notice there's not much traffic in the big cities during that time. I remember in December of 2023, we as a family had a special thanksgiving ceremony for our late dad and brother. The ceremony is known as PARO in Luo. All my surviving siblings in Kenya US and Germany + some cousins from the States with their families in tow were in the building, not to mention uncles/aunt's from both my dad and mums side and cousins who are here. To say it was a blast is an understatement. So much so that God willing end this year we're planning a similar get together. Our nephews and nieces from abroad didn't want to go back from all the sights and sounds and fun they had. Not to mention they'd never seen so many people gathered together who are family, from grandma's and pops to uncles/aunt's to their cousins and they learnt more about their culture and where they come from.
I understand exactly how you guys feel. I was in Kenya Jan 2024 tru April 2024, Two days after returning to Florida I wanted to leave. For me, Kenya is home.

This is good news and I can see your faces glowing just by mentioning your coming back home 🇰🇪. You found a good space and a lifestyle you enjoy and no one should knock you down because of it. Also, January and February are our hottest months so brace for some more than usual heat though mornings and evenings will always be cool. As for Mombasa, it is way more chilled than the hustle and bustle of Nairobi, very hot and humid so brace yourselves. Make sure you have an A/C wherever you will be staying. I'm sure there are nice restaurants in tge city of Mombasa but you should try Tamarind restaurant, a nice place with ocean views. You can also check Forodhani restaurant in the old town preferably after you've taken a tour of the old town itself. Mombasa is big on streetfood, if you have the stomach for it then try its delicious and spicy street food. You'll find street food on Makadara road and pretty much most streets in the CBD. If you have time, take the ferry to the South coast to Diani and enjoy some of the best beaches on the planet. There's now a new highway to Diani if you can't take the ferry. I am curious, will you be flying or taking the SGR train to Mombasa? Try SGR for the experience. My last question, how does your typical day look like here in Kenya, Nairobi? Welcome back guys, we love having you here! 🇰🇪

We left SC to spend New Year's Eve week in Jacksonville and Gulf Breeze/ Pensacola looking for warmth. It was a bit warmer but still cold. We watched the fireworks at the beach and froze our buns off.
Yes, we just go for a fews days to the village then we are back in the Nairobi city to look for money. It can be 1 day or a week or during Easter, or christmas week and mostly during 1 month leave from work. The village is very quiet, greener, food is purely organic. large greener spaces. surrounded by clan members. The fun thing is the road trip is fun. My village is 8 to 11 hrs road trip or 45 minutes by air plus 2 hours road trip to Butere (Western Kenyan). You want to come and see? I have noticed the Kenyaness is showing in your faces and they are glowing. You are both relaxed and happy.Your spirit has found home. That is the meaning of "Hakuna Matata" (No worries)
I enjoy your show and its very refreshing to see your perspectives as Americans living in Kenya and calling Kenya home. Ya'll talk about grand kids and being grand parents, but ya'll look too young. Germain, you got a beautiful wife and she looks like she is in her twenties. Can you also take a tour of some places like the Maasai community and their culture, some other communities. Road Trips and share your experiences as well with videos. The Flea Market, the neighborhood and interacting with locals so that people can see. But this is very nice and the Kenyan Ministry of Tourism needs to recognize you for marketing kenya. It would be nice to give Americans a sneak pick of some kenyan language like Swahili and some common words used. I think that would be interesting
We would like to do more but we have to be sensitive to culture. We have run into a few issues recording so that’s why we mostly talk about experiences. We may try to sneak I some of those idea tho. 😀
I'm so happy for you guys. I feel you. I'm at the age I'm ready to live and go where The MOST HIGH lead me. I'm looking forward to coming to Kenya Feb 2025.🙏👑🥰💪
Man I am in America now from 🇰🇪, you are very positive guys about life, my friend you have a good woman, I will travel to South Carolina to hunt one I hope she is virtuous like your lady. All the best in your stays in 🇰🇪
When we go back to the village for Hollidays we enjoy the peace in our Houses and family members most... .....Coming back to the city of Nairobi for most Kenyans is a grind ... Village Life and in Rural & holiday homes are best for Relaxation... A Black Kenyan must have a Retirement Home away from the City .
In Mombasa you can try and eat at a place called Charchoma mostly they do roast beef, pork etc. You can try Swahili dishes on your way to Mombasa state house
Welcome home, When we visit our homes in the village we don't stay there for long because we need to come back to our everyday lives. In the villages there's a lot of hard work to do so we come back soonest. If it wasn't for that we would stay home in the village for sometime.

Asante
Hello good couple. Yes here in Nairobi when we go to the village, we usually go for one week or two
I enjoy your show and its very refreshing to see your perspectives as Americans living in Kenya and calling Kenya home.
Welcome home am moving back home myself from cali, westlands nice expensive city to live in

Asante

😂
When we go back to the village for Hollidays we enjoy the peace in our Houses and family members most...
.....Coming back to the city of Nairobi for most Kenyans is a grind ...
Village Life and in Rural & holiday homes are best for Relaxation...
A Black Kenyan must have a Retirement Home away from the City .
We have heard the same thing
Mama ngina drive likoni Mombasa.
When you go to the village for holidays, you return to the city very fast coz you may end up spending your fare on other things
The excitement of going home sometimes overrides sound judgment
In Mombasa you can try and eat at a place called Charchoma mostly they do roast beef, pork etc. You can try Swahili dishes on your way to Mombasa state house
🫡
and for someone in Mombasa Nairobi is too cold hahahahah. Welcome back
We heard. To me it’s lovely
Welcome back to kenya
Thank you
Make sure you take some Swahili lessons when you come back. It's a beautiful language and it'll help you move around much easier
That's the plan!
Eat at Restaurant Tarboush in Mombasa
Thank you 😊
Welcome home,
When we visit our homes in the village we don't stay there for long because we need to come back to our everyday lives.
In the villages there's a lot of hard work to do so we come back soonest.
If it wasn't for that we would stay home in the village for sometime.
