I just received my new balls in the mail today. My ex took my other ones when she left a few years ago. It's nice to have a new set. I really enjoyed your video. Good info. Aim small miss small.
Thank you so much I have had trouble with handling these furry balls in the past. Thanks to you Jim I have learned how to handle these hairy beaver balls
this was the best vid ive found on youtube for a "furball" silencing DIY..there are others bust this one does a straight through with no cuts and also the plasctic tab is invaluable.i used a small plastic piece so mine was a bit more "fiddly"lol!still I got it done first try and they look awesome.black on white with a black bow also did the felt limb stick ons..
hello grizzly Jim. I really love watching your archery tips and all topics. you are a true master of the sport. however I think you should of use those beaver balls to dust off then cobwebs on your windowsill. keep up the good work. I've learnt so much watching your vid's thank you so much
I prefer to mount my dampeners near the ends of my bowstring so that they function as brushguards. Here in the SouthEastern US our woods are very thick with vines and brambles.
It seems like you'd want to add a bit of serving to each end to keep everything in place, especially when the bow is unstrung. I think it would be essential on a continuous loop string.
You'd think so, but I did what Jim did and did not serve them in and they are still right where I put them. So, it looks like tying them in is not necessary.
I watched this video when I was putting my first beaver balls in place. It was a few years ago. I have made a few nice and tight balls since then. Since then, I have watched it a few times. It was always helpful. Thank you Jim. As a woman, I have to agree, tight balls are great. As a silencer too 😂 All jokes aside, this technique held my beavier balls all untill the string broke, and they were great for six years on this bow ❤ New string, new balls. I hope these last as long too 😅 My fiance agreed about stroking the hairs a bit to make it less messy. 😂😂😂 But he said we should use the bows more often 😅 and the beaver balls, of course 😉 Six years later, your knowledge is still the only one that I apply 😉 Big hello from Croatia ❤
Thanks for sharing your technique for handling hairy balls with us! :p Was just wondering if you can make do with a single ball, or is it better to grab a pair? I'm waiting for the postie to turn up with a dinky little 48" recurve, if that makes any difference compared to the larger 58"-70" bows.
+Brian Anuvattanachai as long as their equidistant... A few inches after the Flemish splice ends is a good place to start... But just have a play around see what works :)
1:12 "The important thing is to make sure they're equidistant to each other." Why? You're trying to stop sound = resonance, right? So wouldn't irregularity be better?
If you have them offset you'll get more power from one side than the other. Ultimately effecting aim. As long as they aren't on a harmonic point in the strings they'll be fine.
@@keigenkustom9267 ehhh... limbs are effectively unequal because your hand doesn't go in the middle. I really don't think string silencers being offset slightly is going to noticeably effect power and aim.
Now lets see the bloopers! At last, I can tame my balls with confidence. I have some wool ones that fit through the string but furry ones are more durable and look much nicer. Thanks Jim.
Those are some pretty big beaver balls. I mean, I know he’s got big balls, and she’s got big balls, but dare I say that we have the biggest balls of them all?
Do u need two balls lol. Being serious now 😯 Top and bottom? New to it don't know how far to measure or how many. The invention of the interweb has to many people with to many different ways and means. Thanks if u reply 😋
How do I stop my balls from dropping (out).... your instructions were great and I installed 2 tight balls on my stalker. ..however after a period when the bow wasn't strung one of my balls had popped out. ...how do I make them stay on the string when it's slack? love the videos BTW, very helpful and humorous!
When doing a tutorial, get to the point. We don’t care about your intro. We don’t care about all the other nonsense you’re talking. Some of us are on a deer stand trying to figure this out. JUST GET STRAIGHT TO THE POINT DUDE
"Baggy ball's no fun to anyone" - you made my day :) Great manual by the way. Thanks!

I'm literally dying 😂💀😂💀😂
The entire purpose of this video seems to be to make smutty double entendres.
Bravo! More like this please.
Archery as a whole is so full of innuendo
I asked the barmaid for a double entendre and she gave me one.
Ordered a pair from merlin archery, looked up where to install them, found this as first result. GG. God you guys ship fast btw.
Thank you so much I have had trouble with handling these furry balls in the past. Thanks to you Jim I have learned how to handle these hairy beaver balls
Your video is excellent. Thanks to you, Jim, I don't have baggy balls, and my bow is much quieter.
Worked so well my archery shop even asked how I did it so well, thanks
I appreciate the innuendo! The instructions were also great!

New drinking game every time he says beaver balls take a shot
OK BUT I'M GONNA NEED A RIDE HOME ! ...."hic"!!
First time installing these onto a bow and this tutorial made it so simple! Our household has been marked as SAFE from the dreaded baggy balls!
🤣
Great instructional video no baggy balls here, thanks jim👍⚽⚽😂

I love all of your videos, this one way very informal. :)
won't the string unwind when the bow is unstrung, and won't the silencer loosen up and come off ?
Would it help to install the beaver balls in a cold room to avoid saggy balls?
do you have a scythian/mongolian bows? if you do could you make a video about the mongolian draw
How do they not come loose when the bow is unstrung and there is no longer tension on the string?
Do you have to install string silencers each time you string a bow ?
You shouldn't have to reinstall them if you keep your string under some tension , or not allow the string to become unwoud in storage .
Yes! Beaver 'Ball's' is WAY funnier... ! I love you Jim :)
what model bow is that?

Oh, it's just the fur from the beaver? I've been using their actual balls.
Haha
😂
Thanks from western NC USA.
Do you only need the one? My bow came with 2 of em. 1 for backup then?
How you can wax the string if you have silencers in the string.
Do you have to take them off.
baggy balls, stroke the beaver- thanks for the info. clear instruction. fab.
Won't the beaver balls unravel when string is not under tension??
This was very helpful thank you so much!!
Does it matter which way you wind the fur around the string?
WHAT IS THAT FIRST BOW! IT'S BEAUTIFUL!
A timber creek stalker... More info coming out Friday ;)

how do you get that pin in the string? did you get it in while the bow was under tension?
Great vid! What is the longbow you are installing the balls on???
yes I want to know too
Ha ha, Jim you nearly killed me with the baggy balls comment!!! 😃👍🏻
Really helpful thanks matey
God i miss you Jim....
Dumb question here does it matter how like the strip of fur is?
Does the bow lose speed?
Yes but it's negligible. A couple feet per second for a 45-60lb limb set.
"Stroke the beaver", 'Baggy ball"....Good God man, this is a family channel!
Hello! for a bow that you have in the beginning of the video? (What is the bow?)
All will be revealed on Friday :) the timber creek stalker
I look forward to)
wrapping the same direction as the string twist? also I couldn't stop thinking about how many spiders must live in your window?
Great video! As an aside, what watch are you wearing?
thank you This was very helpful
Great info, but how you managed to keep a straight face is beyond me.
Thx Jim!!
Do those wreck flight speed?
They don't wreck it but they do make a slight difference... I hope to make a video at some point about the difference in speeds
+MerlinArchery where would I put the string silencers if my bow is fifty-two inches long?
+Brian Anuvattanachai as long as their equidistant... A few inches after the Flemish splice ends is a good place to start... But just have a play around see what works :)
One of my beaver balls was basically bald. Is this a common issue?
Now i know how to stroke tight beaver balls. Thank you))))))))
Thank you
YOU A LIFE SAVER I BATTLED
Wow this video uploaded at 3 in the morning where I am
What a thing to wake up to! ;)

Yes, two balls. About 10" from limb tip to start. You can try different measurements to see if it affects sound
@@KCARanchHomestead thanks you
Your hair is awesome
The fact that you made a 10 min long video about balls and the jokes made me like and subscribe 😂😂 love it man I’m gonna go install my balls now
Lol, were you thinking 20 centimeters (about 8 inches)? That’s where I typically place mine.
No way you made this in one take!
Oh ... Hello there (sipping coffee) Like you weren't expecting us. Thanks for the instructional. Maybe now I won't keep loosing my balls.
Em- "IS THAT MY BOW?!? OMG OMG OMG!?!?"
Lol Love the correction really funny thank you for the info
The amount of sexual innuendoes in this video is amazing
I though the vibration was because I had a bad position..(new in archery)
I did find this very useful , thanks a bunch ! Have you watched Saturday Night lives Sweaty Balls with Alec Baldwin ??
remember in the end,,, we all have baggy balls
likes the sound of his own voice.
If Benny Hill made an archery video....
First!
Sorry always wanted to do this once ^^
Nice video
😹😹😹 I love your videos
Thanks Jim. You saved me from baggy balls. I am happier. My bow is happier. My girlfriend is happier. Thank you.
