It's an incredible experience for an arm-chair traveller like me, who as a teenager back on Aug 15, in 1963 (!), feasted his eyes on the unbroken snow wall of the Greater Himalayas from the terrace of our sugar mill bungalow at a small place near the UP-Nepal border. Among the peaks of the gorgeous vista unveiled by the dust-clearing overnight rain and storm were Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Unforgettable though it was, I never thought of approaching Mt Everest in a helicopter in the comfort of our home, without any hazards of the high Himalayas. You deserve more thanks than your viewers can give you. Samir Datta
My dear friend from Slovakia, Tony Dobeš, was there. On 2013 he, and other my friend, Peter Šperka were killed during their attempt to Nanga Parbat... Thank you very much for such a video... Now I know more about their dreams... Thank you so much...
This is the very best Khumbu-flight video I ever saw. High flying with slow panning and without all the jittering and ego-face shots of so many others ! thank you for this amazing footage :
Перехоплює подих...Яка мовчазна велич! Кожен з гострих виступів своїм холодним відблиском ніби попереджає : ,,Це НАШЕ царство ! Людині сюди -- зась!" А Людина -- йде ! Випробуючи себе ... Хтось буде проти... А відчайдухи продовжують прокладати нові шляхи... Хай береже їх Небо ! Мені чомусь здається, що за кадром мусив би звучати величний оргАн ... Thank's for the job ! very beautiful places, maybe the best in the very few best places in the world , i went here many times, since 1989, on many treks, Everest Khumbu, Annapurna, Manaslu, Dhahaulagiri, Thorong, larkya pass,Kalapathar, Tsum Valley ,Tilicho lake, Mustang , etc, etc...I love Nepal and nepalese people, and it's very cool to see these places from the sky, with excellent images, thank's my Friend !
I am from Himachal Pradesh in India which falls in the great Himalayan region, we do have massive snow-laden mountains here but I must say what we have here are babies 👶 compared to those massive peaks in Nepal. To me, these look unreal. I just can't comprehend that something could stick out of the earth this big. It almost looks like it's kissing the sky. The highest we have here is 6816 meters. which is almost 2000 meters(2km) shorter than Mount Everest. unbelievable.
This video gives me a different perspective and understanding of Mount Everest it's an amazing video. I thought that amount Everest was a single peak sticking up out of the Earth by itself, but now I see that Mount Everest is amongst a community of mountain peaks. Thank you so much for this video.
Walked the Everest Trekk last week, we had some terrible weather, not many peak views. This vid was a good complementary. Despite the weather we had a great expedition. Many thanks to Expeditioinsresor - Sweden.
I flew on a plane ✈️ yesterday and when the flight attendant 👩✈️ said we reached 10,000 ft i looked straight down out the window and just couldn’t believe that there are mountains 🏔️ that are way higher then we were. No screens wether on you’re phone , computer or tv will ever be able to capture just how amazing that must look in real life:)-
Saludos desde México, Gracias por extraordinario video, con los nombres y alturas de las montañas de alrededor, me hizo ir a Google Earth a dimensionar el viaje que hicieron en Helicóptero, nunca me había sentido tan cerca del Himalaya
Stunning view! Glad you made a circle over Gokyo and not only flew directly to Everest. Did that circle in 2016 while doing the Everest trek, is so great to see the trail and route from above :)
This is by far the best video beautifully describing the Gokyo-Everest-Khumbu region. I really enjoyed it very very much, feeling like a bird flying slowly above all the deep valleys and seeing close by all the famous peaks one usually only gets to see from a distance. Thank you so much. Ps: would be wonderful to one day be able to see a similarly good overview of the region extending from Phortse to Island peak, via Imja valley, over Amphu Lapsa , then following the Hongu Valley towards Mera, while showing Baruntse, Makalu, the West col, Honku Chuli, Chamlang ,Peak 41, Mera La, Malan Phulan, ,Kang Taiga, Kyashar, Kusum Kanguru and back to Phortse.
I had my volume all the way down and felt like I missed 10,000’ of video. However, this was hands down one of the better videos I have ever seen earning an honorable 👍🏽
Super, super&beautifull,WOOOW!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS EXPERIANCE,IN DETAILS...was there 1997 and 2002...not so high though, due to attitude story...but this fly over is really precious❤👏👏👏❤🙏
This was a great escape from the daily life to see such another world as Nepal and the mountains! Very nice of you to share this! You lead a life of great adventure! THANK YOU!
These mountains are huge and beautiful. By watching I thought, that already in the video you get the idea that nature actually is creation, right? Thanks for sharing your flight.
@Dr. xyz Exactly. What would be the purpose then of 'HIS' creating mountains 100x bigger on Uranus and Neptune and 100,000x bigger in neighboring solar systems and galaxies? Not to mention galaxies themselves (about a trillion of those now estimated) and all we can see with Hubble and Webb is a dot in the sky. Yeah God made all that just for Austin Powers.
Wow! I did trek to Gokyo Ri, Chukhung & Kale Pattar long time ago, this a very nice helicopter tour😎! For those who don't know, flying above the icefall is difficult and dangerous as the air is too thin ! But a test pilot did land on top of Everest in 2005 with a specially prepared helicopter 😉
I live on Maui, Hawaii where we have a 10,000' volcano. Our neighbor 'Big' island has a 15,000 volcano. I love the ocean and the high mountains. We do helicopter tours and its SO amazing to compare the Pacific ocean, tropical forest & volcanoes with the glaciers & ultra-high peaks here; both are elemental and stunning. The earth has such amazing and contrasting extremes! I like to imagine that the Nepalese & Hawaiians have more in common than separates them; think of Hawaiian big wave surfers and the Sherpas. I see legends like Tensing Norgay and Eddie Aikau as soul brothers! Anyway, thanks for uploading such a mesmerizing and beautiful video.
I realise there's a time and a place for fast cuts, b rolls, arc shots and whatever other jargon is used in film making. So refreshing to see this as 1 cut as it gives you a real perpective!
Missed seeing towards Everest and Lhotse from above the Khumbu ice glacier view. Turned the helicopter too soon to look up above where those going to the summit go to the next camps above the glacier.
Nice helicopter ride and nice video. Hopefully i can get on this chopper and have a 30 minute ride to Mt Everest along with other over 20,000 feet mountains.
Never realized how close the surrounding mountains are to the height of Mt. Everest! The surrounding mountains are damn close to the height of the tallest mountain in the world. So the Himalayas are crazier than i thought. what an incredible place@
Thanks for the images. But the music SUCKS! Next time use METRIC measurement! LBS (Lot of Bull Shit) and FAHRENHEIT. OMG! Also liquid ounces. FL.oz!?! GO METRIC!! Like the Canadians and the Australians. Think about the children. Greetings from THAILAND, officially METRIC COUNTRY. And we hate the confusing AM/PM Bull Shit! ruclips.net/video/ktZEIvKTfTw/видео.html
I'm impressed the helicopter can get enough lift at this altitude which must have been close to or over 5000 meters asl. What is the highest a helicopter like that could fly? The flythrough gives a good idea of the massive scale of the Himilayas.
Can a helicopter fly to Mt Everest? If you're wondering if a helicopter can fly to the top of Mount Everest, the answer is yes. It has been done before - but only once. In 2005, Didier DelSalle flew to the top of and even landed on the 8,848 m (29,030 ft) summit of Mount Everest.
Thanks for uploading as this is a place where I would never be able to explore physically but wanting to see more life and people who live there at thisaltitude. Thanks.
