No kidding, i'm a long live perodua user. But after so much time riding in proton cars like the new vvt saga and persona (grab cars) i immedietely love them. Great handling, superb air conditioning and stock sound system, and surprisingly smooth cvt. Sometimes it makes me regret that I told my father to buy the bezza lol.
Totally agree that the original Iriz looks better...and in the new faces, Persona’s look more matured. And yes, I feel so cheated as a 2014 Iriz owner. On the Proton vs Perodua, I feel safer in a Proton...so that’s where my money goes.

Although it makes sense to compare Persona to Bezza based on their sedan segment, the closest competitor would be Myvi since most purchase decision is decided by how much buyers are willing to pay each month. Sedan to sedan, Bezza is competing with Saga since both target the same demographic.

Driving dynamic is practically non existent on the bezza. Not to mention the persona has better safety, tougher chassis and bigger interior space.

I really hope they bring geely C & B segment sedan asap. And also built new saga on the geely-volvo cma architecture. Our saga is too outdated. Both design and features. And also exora. I do also hope perodua can launch a B segment sedan. But i doubt it. It will affect vios market at least. But then again, they already launch the aruz, which is the carbon copy of rush.
For me the old persona is actually great with modification but the new persona is just like that,because i think it would be ugly & the new persona is more like a family car
Was deciding to buy a car early this year. I've test drove both Myvi 2018 and the Persona model before this face lift. Handling and suspension on Proton is definitely better than Perodua. If this new Persona was out, I would have gone for the Persona. Going through those thick red paints felt seemless and handling is really good. Can't wait to test drive this new Persona!
Judging by the history of proton segmental pricing..if this persona cheapest variant is 43k,then the new saga should be realistically the most expensive would be 38k-40k include otr😏
Pre facelift Iriz manual owner here...handling top notch with minor quality issue...rubber strip on the roof fly off on the 1st week..petrol smell going into the cabin...all solved by SC..only complaint, wish the pickup is better in low gear, i have to rev above 2.5k rpm to have better acceleration...very weak in low gear, even kancil can smoke 😁😁

definitely, no doubts. Their ride is way, way way way way far more better than any perodua's models in the line. NVH, where is no competition against Recent proton models too. I wonder if PT would have tested out the fuel economy by putting hafriz and Paul Tan in a bezza to balance out the weight difference, I doubt the fuel economy will not differ as much. Proton engine tuned to be rev happy, unlike the lazy Perodua gearing. the refinement at mid-high rev is far more less refine in any of Peroduas. Suspension wise, proton has great damping and support for the dynamic. Perodua, they are just either too soft or clashy. Look wise, new myvi is likely to be appeal better for general. and a more practical boot space too, no doubts. But that does not judge it is a good car anyways from dymanic, more dampening ride, lively engine, chassis safety standpoint, despite having active safety features, eventhough it's a great budget system.
I still think the Persona looks out of proportion, especially when the rivals looks more like a proper sedan than hatchback with a boot. But I can't argue with the price. For RM44k on the road (i chose MT version), this is the best deals for me as someone who doesn't drive a car daily and have no friends and family to impress. Besides, the new looks actually more acceptable in real life than the launch model - I don't like it on picture and much worse in real life 😅
Wished they put all of those good things in the new persona into the last gen body. I really like the styling of last gen persona, sporty and elegant. That low and long body mixed with new and fresh styling will be beautiful.
Eventho i own the 1st batch Iriz i do satisfied with it... Ya the only downside I must say is the NVH level... Other than that I'm fine and happy with the first 2014 Iriz.
@@2MPerak fc for City driving is good for 1.6 engine. I manage to get 340km-350km per full tank until the light up ⛽. But it still can get around 30km or 40km more untuk the light start blinking. But i won't recommend it as it can hurt ur fuel pump

I do really like the deep blue color on the Iriz, it gives volkswagen feels to it and in my opinion the design is much better compared to 1st release. But miss the projector headlamp its a good feature
Drove the 2016 Iriz yesterday, it's horrible! The engine was loud(probably the CVT), the feedback also not good. I drove the 2019 1.5L Myvi previously and it's much far ahead in terms of driving feel. I should go test drive this 2019 Iriz.
Matt Shah you're right, but if you want to talk strictly about segments, the Saga is technically a small B-segment car. Segments go out the window when you're buying based on your own budget. Say you're looking at an A-segment sedan, specifically the Bezza, would you not consider the Persona at all just because it's a larger B-segment car, even thought it's priced in the same range?
the new Protons looks weird actually especially the rear with the P R O T O N logo like this. the front for the persona is acceptable but the iriz cant. the rear for both car is not nice. But in terms of handlings still beat the Peroduas.

Proton cars with cvt are crap. Lagging throttle response from stop go driving and whining problems if u floor it for overtaking. Some owners complain that cvt sounds "berdengung" at low speed.
The front grill persona ( bow as they call it) is just a lazy copy from subaru forester’s..the placing of “persona” at the back is just a lazy think of placing it on a better position which is now, its just too close to the “p r o t o n” emblem..just a lazy update and this definitely make the previous mv drops like hell..just disappointed on proton..but price is good but finger cross they would not come up with new fl in near future.
Just scrap all Iriz and Persona. Just bring in all models from Geely China! Proton really milking these local made car models, making many facelift year after year. Smh
Definitely Myvi. If you forward the video to the back, he mentioned that if you're looking for better fuel economy then is Perodua. Perodua is better practicality compares to Proton. My cousin is having the latest Myvi and his fuel consumption is always much more efficient than mine. bezza is more of a city car after all. persona (or all proton in general) is the highway cruiser
