I hate tragic endings, but surprisingly not on this one. I think its a befitting end. Its a tragic end but i felt its actually a happy end. Least she managed to end her own way and punished the prince at same time.
And also I think the best punishment for Li Chengyin is the fact that he had to live alone till old age, he remembers Xiaofeng's death everyday which is painful.

Skipped the political mumble jumble scenes. I really like the general’s subtle love for the princess and the chemistry between the two leads. I’m not too happy with the prince not regaining his memory before the drama ended. It would’ve been nice to see him repent his sins and pay for how he treated her. Over all it was a good watch.
Tina Sok he did remember everything that happened. R u sure u watched the whole thing. Because he remembered everything. In the end he even said the worst punishment is to remember things and not be able to forget!

GJ is not her husband not the one she love. even when she was hostaged in the forest she refused to eat the mandarin duck because it was for lovers. though she hate Le Cheyin she said hes still her husband. that why she wanted to go back to the palace to see Le Chengyin but only to feel heartbroken seeing him with Zese on the tower. no one replaces him in her heart same with Le Cheyin
2nd prince poisoned her she almost died when she told the emperor about his fraud on the copper coins and buddha. thats why LCY change his act pretending he hates her so to divert their attention and protect her. as CXX said in an interview the farther XF is away the safer she from the attack of his enemies

In term of love both of them surrounded by wrong people..they are all together ruining the relationship...both side...no one helping them...concealing the truth... misleading the actual fact...i think i'm still in favour of the prince...and i can understand the reason why he is doing certain things...it all justified...he had to do something which he definitely didn't like..but had to..his life merely to please others...he is actually in a bigger suffering compare to the princee...but no one notice...the fact that he is so smart in politics make him look so villain...once you've been betrayed..can you still be able to believe?
I know everything here is just for the drama but if we just use logic it will show a lot of stupid choices. 1. They used a lot of time doing sight seeing instead of escaping. 2. They used the door which is just below the prince. 3. They started going out while everyone is kneeling making them exposed. 4. He chose to pick up the stupid hair clip in a very dangerous situation. They die because of poor life decisions. Hehehe
