    Camping & Travel VLOG #18
    Visitor Activities
Jeff Friend Trail features a one mile loop, providing a spectacular view of Little Lagoon just around the bend.
    Wildlife Viewing
Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge offers several opportunities for wildlife viewing. The time of year will dictate the wildlife seen. Four trails provide over six miles to explore. An observation tower found on Pine Beach Trail is a great place to get an elevated view of Little Lagoon and Gator Lake. Keep an eye out for alligators, six lined race runners, armadillos, red fox, bobcats and a variety of birds!
    Bird Watching
The spring and fall seasons, when neotropical migrants are most abundant, bring birdwatchers from near and far to view the marvelous array of species that may be found on the refuge. The largest are usually ospreys and several species of herons. At the other extreme, seven species of hummingbirds have been observed.
In total, more than 370 species of birds have been documented on refuge. Whether you’re a beginner or looking for a rare life list bird, bring your binoculars and head out to the trails.
    Interpretation
Though small, the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center offers a variety of displays and brochures to provide information about the native flora and fauna found along the Gulf Coast. The refuge offers self guided walks, and ranger led programs on a seasonal basis. In addition, dedicated volunteers lead bird walks and dune tours every winter and during National Wildlife Refuge Week in October. Seasonal interpretive programs such as night hikes, seining Little Lagoon, and Monarch butterfly tagging are offered throughout the remainder of the year. Check our webpage regularly for upcoming activities. Refuge interpretation programs provide opportunities for visitors to make their own connections to the natural world.
    Photography
When visiting Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge be sure to bring your camera. The refuge’s diverse ecosystems provide a variety of opportunities for photographing landscapes from sandy beaches along the Gulf of Mexico to wetlands and maritime forest. You can also expect to photograph egrets, herons, shorebirds and numerous other species using the refuge; making Bon Secour a perfect stop for both amateur and professional photographers.

    ABOUT ME:
► I grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan and graduated with a Marketing degree from Oakland University in Rochester, MI.
► I moved to Longmont, CO in November 2016 and fell in love with all the beautiful hiking trails that Colorado has to offer. So, the Nash Potatoes Outdoor Show (an outdoor nature VLOG) was born in April 2017. Slowly, but surely my channel began to grow…
► In November 2019, I took a 4-month camping trip in my pop-up camper. This gave me an opportunity to travel, explore, unwind, and create lots of great videos.
► Then, in December 2020, I began recording a series of downhill skiing videos in Colorado. These quickly became popular and my passion for RUclips was sparked once again!
► I actually had so many great memories of my first camping trip that I decided to do another one. So, in April 2021, I converted a 12-foot enclosed trailer into a camper and documented the whole process.
► In June 2021, I finally reached 1,000 subscribers and was able to monetize my channel.
► By August 2022, I was already at 1,600 subscribers and counting!
► The Nash Potatoes Outdoor Show allows me to share all of my experiences with you. Join me on my adventure as I talk about life, laughter, exploration, and creating content for RUclips...enjoy!

We have lots of young birdwatchers in Minnesota. Young and old out on bird hikes with groups. Loved this video. You gave me great ideas for my visit next year.

@@NashPotatoesOutdoorShow I got a kick out of it! We both know I'm a bird nerd! ;) Sorry to hear you've been struggling with anxiety. Consider adding trying L-Theanine. I started on 200mg twice a day (am and pm) and it really helped.
