  • This is an on board practice lap of the National MTB XC Rd 2 course at Hadleigh Park. This was described as being as close to the 2012 Olympic course as possible. It wasn't quite the same due to there being a lot more riders to fit on the course for the National, but it was a brilliant course and I couldn't recommend Hadleigh Park more as a great MTB venue to go and enjoy socially or to race at.
The on board lap is done by Samuel Howes who finished 16th in the Youth category after dropping a chain twice.

Would this be accessible on a Cyclocross bike?

Yes, it's a great place to go on a cyclo-cross bike. My wife rode round on hers while my son did this lap. A CX bike wouldn't be any good for the A-lines here, but you could ride more than half the B-lines and everything in between. There are excellent trails and views that really make Hadleigh Park a great place to visit.

Hi, is the park free to use or there is a fee to pay?

The park is free to use, but you need to pay for parking, which is £1.50 per hour or £6 all day. You can find out more info here: www.explore-essex.com/places-to-go/find-whats-near-me/hadleigh-country-park

Why cut and dont make the right turns ? :/

It's the faster racing line, so as long as you are within the tape, it's the best line to take. If you pause at the wooden post at 2m12s, you can see the arrows point to both sides of the past, as that is a dual slalom section, so riders would be both sides of the tape. There is just one corner incorrectly cut which is at 2m30s. You can see Sam follows the flattened grass, when he should have stuck to the track there. You couldn't do that in a race, but this was a practice lap.

Reason I am here, to see if anyone else noticed. I guess one trait americans kept when they left Britain - Rules apply to others

These last few Olympic courses ate a disgrace. This is a neighborhood park with a few man made obstacles and rock piles thrown in. Any pro that struggles with this course should not be in the Olympics.
