ItzzEnder: organized the resistance against Elanuelo. Davarit: took on a 1v30 to kill the sultan DrMonkey: convinced Wassock to turn himself in. A couple others I’m sure I’m forgetting are probably there too
Wassock had a W character development. Yeah you’re right! Pretty much everything in the video is inspired by what the 1000 players naturally did, but then after the event ish filmed some scenes and moved some plot points around to make a better story
@@KaNukei I expect filmed scenes to happen in almost every Minecraft Civilization/Social Experiment video. The staff can’t be everywhere, so whenever something notable happens off-screen, they need to put something in the video when they cover that notable act/event/scene.
@@KaNukei Yeah the filmed scenes after the event don't bother me, that's just not possible to do. People are arguing that it's okay for entertainment, but he didn't put any disclaimer that it is "based on the real events", but states that it *is* reality.
Generally it seemed like 80% accurate, i do think all of the changes to the desert were bad ones though. I also think that a battle in the desert should have been allowed by Ish but it's fine.

Should’ve just had the conflict in the desert while the siege of Aculon was going on, have a main end fight with the secondary in the desert. But still a great work!
@@John-115 yeah, i doubt the aculon soldiers would have even been able to get to desert so it would be 2 fights. Maybe Ish thought it would be too easy for the BoP to win if they did a divide and conquer like that, or maybe he just wanted a single climactic showdown. Either way I don't think it was a horrible decision and the entire thing was still awesome, especially after knowing what happened on the inside of things.
And what about the fact that Ish revived Daverit and other players to help the allies in the last fight and give them more numbers ? I kind of figured some of the things in it were exaggerated but hearing how much micromanagement was going on kinda sucks. Like isn't the point of these to see what the people do?
I think it's a more to make a narrative on a civilisation of a minecraft player. naturally, there won't likely be any war. only some minor conflict since it's not necessary. the population only decreases, so no space constraints and resources are hardly limited. there's a need for outside intervention to push the conflict between them (or just put player that want to kill each other only)
Yeah that is the point, and as a player in the experiment I still feel like we were allowed to do whatever we wanted, it’s just as the experiment started to end he pushed it in a way that would be a more satisfying ending. Absolutely freedom on the players part wouldn’t end up with the best video, and honestly, it wouldn’t give the players the best time either

And from watching the emirates video the jospehil thing is not fact but cap as she didn't even want to participate in the final battle and ish had to intervene to get the desert people involved in the snow
Just saw this video too. Took my like half an hour to figure out that "cap" means "exaggeration." I was like, "What the fuck?" Samuel L.: "English, motherfucker, do you speak it?" That said, this was a good video that helped to clarify some things. It was a bit sad that Ish kind of forced/heavily suggested a final battle in spite of some of the natural developments. How long did the server go on after the Battle of Aculon? It's always a bit weird when people fight a battle of the ages, and then the server doesn't go on for the victors to realize the vision for which they fought (which was the case if people genuinely wanted to be free of Elanuelo). Hopefully one day I'll get to try something like this. I remember fantasizing that these things would happen as early as the Alpha/Beta days of Minecraft.

Wassock had a W character development. He went from arguably the most unstable player on the server (literally wanting a war just for the Power) into the guy who developed a GENIUS plan to prevent the very war that would have gave him power. and then he ultimately turns himself in, preventing...
---A Jungle civil war
---A Nationwide Manhunt for him
---Many more casualties in the jungle
And ultimately, peace wouldnt have been acheived if the Jungle was a warzone, or if he was still being hunted. he died at the perfect time to acheive world peace, while still appearing as a war criminal to the entire server.

Agreed. I love these videos about it, but it seems like there was a significant level of scripting (and historical revisionism surrounding the desert politics). Would like to see something that can achieve this organization yet allow for more organic resolutions.
This has been tried before and almost every time has ended with a very dissatisfying video. It’s really hard to tell a cohesive story by being hands off with even 100 players let alone 1000

only works at 100 players, by dropping few scripted players, couple are actual players
Unless everyone is recording which is just impractical
@@KaNukei Yeah the filmed scenes after the event don't bother me, that's just not possible to do. But rewriting the story and outright lying about what happened is really bad in my opinion, it just undermines the trust people have in content creators. And he did it at so many places.

That in ish video, saparata suicides because his plan failed, when in reality saparata suicided DAYS before daverit even trying to kill the sultan, and it was from shame that his plan got exposed.
That said, this was a good video that helped to clarify some things.
