I just don’t understand why we Indians can’t follow the bloody basic rules. The first bike I got when I was in college from my parents 25 years back, the first instruction and rule from my father was, if ever I was caught riding without helmet, they will take away my bike. I have followed all traffic rules ever since.

As a rider who's been on the road for almost 10 years across the country, Really good to see a police man working this way.
The other side to this is that every second cop who stops anyone on bike immediately snatches the keys, even after stopping. Hurls abuses and always , ALWAYS demands for money. And how? (Challan to 10k ka hai bhaisahab, aapko to main 1000 me chod raha hu).
I really hope such amazing police officers take note of that as well and helps the genuine riders/drivers who are harassed almost everyday.
Rule violators should be dealt harshly, but then the genuine ones should not be harassed as well.

Just straight away fining them, not giving them the proper guidance and knowledge about traffic rules, is a waste. A warning and this “unnecessary gyan” could potentially help to reduce future accidents!
