Hi Jerry, it's John the retired Bell Tech just a reminder you may need an optical repeater for that Fiber run your planning on running to avoid that dB loss.. Good Luck...😅
Jerry for my Home Recording I use the Zoom LiveTrak L-8. I don’t need a ton of plugin’s. They have an L-12 model with 8 microphone plugs which would work well with what you are wanting to do. And there are a ton of RUclips videos on how easy it is to use and works with all type of DAW’s. Most mixers made these days can be used as audio interfaces as you know I am sure.
Run a 5" PVC Pipe from the Shop to your house then put the cable inside the pipe. I did that at least 30 years ago where I live and ran an electrical cable in it. It has worked ever since. Also can't you rent a small machine to cut 10" or 12" Ditch the length you need?/ Good luck.

Tailpieces : When looking for a tailpiece, beware of what might look like a good price or bargain. Descent tailpieces get expensive real fast. I purchased one which was the same style as Jerry's, by a different maker (cheaper). The string posts have no taper or groove, to hold the strings in place, while winding the other end. That was not noticeable, in the photographs. Stringing is a B.
So this carcass just disappeared? Hmmm a wild life camera could have captured this thing on chip. Meny meny meny times I wish that I had a live camera available to catch just this type of thing. Big foot, or alien ! 😜
That chord pattern is hard. I've been trying some shorter minor chords and usually only can do the three fingers. I haven't had a lot of luck doing the minor chord with all four fingers.
??????? Jerry, would it really be ridiculous, to dodge your trenching obstacles and go through the gate area and make a dog leg, to the window area? P.S.: Be sure to glue the conduit well, to be able to use vacuum or pressure, to get you pull line through that long run. 😁✌🖖

I use a Zoom R16 for recording and mixing audio and get great results. Can be used as a control surface too.

When I had a small home studio I used Presonus. It wasn’t bad.
