She thought her life was perfect because she was comfortable but she was missing out. She was missing out on relationships with people and her own career. It wasn't until somebody who cared about told her it was okay to get hurt and get out there. Not that he's not perfect but if stays doing and eating the same things he will never grow. He needs that extra push to get out there.
