I’m watching this a couple days after Matthew Perry passed away 😢 I found your channel from the AD tours video. One on the best RUclips rabbit holes I’ve ever gone down. Thanks for the content!

Me too. I already watch Kendra regularly but I'm new enough to be working through all her content.
Damn why I gotta find this today? 😢 I know there will be so many things like this, though, especially on RUclips!
I can barely enjoy the funny clips now but eventually we will be just enjoying his legacy as an entertainer and enjoying a good laugh again -- as I'm sure Matthew Perry would have wanted!

So I checked out the apartments of metropolis book for my old apartment and while I didn’t find my exact building I did find the name for the building I saw every single day and that was just really cool. I hadn’t considered it could have had a name before this. Also checked the modern apartments 73- 75(I was 72) floor plans and it was the same with some minor changes (honestly preferred these to mine as my kitchen was their chamber😂)
Thanks for this. I found you with your Gilmore girls video and I’m totally obsessed with your content now. 😊

I just recently found your channel and have been watching all of your videos! This has been amazing!!! As a New Yorker we’ve spent all evening looking into our building, our neighborhood, finding the old street names and have completely gotten lost in this. We just walked around the neighborhood (Queens) and found 3 old houses from the 1870s that are still standing! Definitely updated but fully recognizable. Thank you so much for this tool, I think you’ve just started me and my partner on a new journey of NYC history ❤

THIS IS SO COOL. I spent my childhood in Forest Hills, Queens and I just did a whole tour of my childhood neighbourhood. Too awesome. My brother is an urban-planning-nerd (it’s a thing, nothing to do with his actual job) and I am sending him to this website. 😄

I just found your channel in December of 2023. But I spent early Covid poking around the NYC property pages. I found out that my best friend’s house was built in 1920. I found out that the 1990 listing for my grandparents house had a mistake. I found out that my apartment complex used to have balconies! It was a very pleasant distraction from everything *waves arms frantic Kermit style* going on in the world. But this video has told me that I missed some resources and should revisit everything. I’m now a subscriber and can’t wait for more videos!

Very cool. I’m thankful that you shared this. I’m an amateur genealogist and will love to use these resources. Will you please give us some ideas of resources for smaller cities and towns? Thank you.

Do you have any resources of how to do this for Chicago?

Have you followed her process, but using Chicago documents? That's how I would start.
